write one page reflection about the legacy of socrates
Write a one page reflection of chapter 1″The Legacy of Socrates” from the book Problems from Philosophy 3rd edition by James Rachels and Stuart Rachels. I have attached pages from the chapter from which the reflection has to come from.
Each Reflection should have the following structure:
1) Summarize, describe briefly, or outline an argument, issue, or idea from the text.
(3-5 sentences)
2) State your opinion on the argument, issue, or idea. (Do you agree or disagree with an argument? Do you have an argument of your own that you did not have the chance to share in class discussion, or that you can develop further? Or do you think that multiple sides of an issue have merit?)
3) Support your opinion with at least 3 reasons.
Each refection must be at least 1 page (21 lines long. Headings, titles, and quotes do not count towards the length requirement.)
It must be typed, double spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman or Calibri font and 1 inch margins. Make sure your name is at the top of the paper or in the name of the document.
You must include a Works Cited and use in-text citation. Introduce the author and the title of the reading selection you are writing about.
Tips for writing a strong Reflection:
–Show thoughtfulness about the philosophical questions that are discussed in the readings or in class.
–Show evidence that you have read the text carefully.
–Make sure that you are clear about which opinions are your own and which are those of the authors that we are reading.
–If you have a strong opinion, try to persuade me. If not, say what works and what does not work about a couple of different arguments.
–Tell me what the broader implications of the arguments are. Or tell me how the issues relate to your own life. Or better yet, tell me both of these things.
