Writing Discussions help (4)
Discussion Post 1:
Saade
et al. (2012) describe critical thinking as the mental processes of
discernment, analysis, and evaluation applied to information in order to
achieve a logical final understanding and/or judgment. Describe your approach
to breaking down information into component parts to better understand the
characteristics of a statement, concept, or problem. How might outlining help
to develop understanding? How do you know when to reach beyond previous
experience and seek out other sources of information to enhance your
understanding of the work in front of you?
Discussion Post 2:
Having you write about the information you have
encountered through the magnitude of required reading in the doctoral program
is a method that allows professors to effectively evaluate your ability to
absorb and synthesize content. As you move forward on your doctoral journey,
what process will you use to be successful in crafting your written discussion
question responses and essays prior to submitting them for grading? What steps
will you take to improve your writing skills at the doctoral level? (This
response does not require research support.)
Discussion Post 3:
While the primary
responsibility of your professors is not to proofread your work, your written
essays and discussion question responses will be evaluated not only for content
but also for format and style. You are required to follow the format and style
established in the APA Publication Manual (6th edition). What questions do you
have about APA format and style? Where might you search for answers to these
questions? What steps will you take to ensure that the work you submit meets
APA format and style expectations? (This response does not require research
support.)
Discussion Post 4:
Do the voice and tone of doctoral writing differ from the voice
and tone of writing at other academic levels? Explain your view. What are some
ways that voice and tone can enhance the scholarly image of your writing?
Explain.
