You will have to identify and examine Target Australia supply chain and investigate the supply chain management problem and need facing that organisation. You are expected to identify new technologies used by supply chains, identify best practice strategy supply chain management solutions adopted by the industry, and propose better solutions than the industry currently has for solving the problem/need in question to allow it to set best practices in the future– eg Industry 4.0 standards. SCOPE: 1) Design and implementation of sustainable (Environmental, Social, and/or Economic) supply chains: motivations, strategies, benefits and challenges 2) Supply chain risk and uncertainty mitigation strategies: benefits and challenges from real-world implementation 3) Supply chain network design/reconfiguration/optimisation including logistics, distribution and warehouse strategies: implementation challenges and solutions 4) Investigate the impact of the current inefficiencies that exist in the area you are investigating – ie presenting various risks with the current process (cost, legal, technical, biological etc) 5) Advantages and challenges of supply chain integration and collaboration: lessons from a real world problem and how these challenges can be overcome 6) Supply chain transformation through the adaptation of cloud systems (cloud computing technology or IT or other): implementation, benefits and challenges 7) Strategic sourcing, procurement and decision making – new emerging ways. By addressing the above objectives, the assignment aims at answering the problem/need faced/required by the firm and gives the firm a practical solution that can be deployed, the practical solution to a real need is key to this problem-solving exercise. The report should have a simple and clear structure. 2) Executive summary • Main problem/need identified • Highlights of the recommended solution • Main recommendations • Expected benefits, and potential risks 3) Introduction The introduction should include background to the project and an explanation of the main issues and problems. Briefly set out an explanation of how you tackled the case and how the report is organised. Problems and issues should be adequately discussed and, if appropriate, prioritized. 4) Body of the report Here you connect your problem to the SSCM strategy of the business, present summaries of evidence, the theoretical framework used, the results of your analysis, and finally your conclusions with recommendations. This is the foundation of your report. 5) Recommendations They must be based on the analysis you did in the body of the report, and they must be supported with evidences, facts etc.
