1) Self-study literature: (1500 words)

You will need to critically review 4-5 peer-reviewed journal articles that use self-study as a method of professional inquiry. Your critique is to focus on the methodology rather than the content of the studies, although some reference to the content will be necessary to frame your discussion. Making comparisons between the different articles, discuss the following aspects of each article in relation to the 5 foci

of self-study research:

1. personal situated inquiry;

2. critical collaborative inquiry;

3. improved learning;

4. transparent and systematic

research process; and

5. knowledge generation and presentation.

You will need to synthesize the literature to discuss your selected articles under the five sections.

2) Literature relevant to your area of study: (1500 words)

In this section, you will provide a critical review of literature in your area of interest, using approximately 4-5 references. In an integrated and clearly synthesized way, your discussion should identify the major themes that emerged from your reading. Discuss what is already known about your particular area of professional inquiry and what areas there might be for further research. Discuss how you might make a contribution to this literature through your own self-study.
