chi square tests 2

Chi-Square Tests

Use the attached dataset (“practice.sav”) to perform a chi-square test of independence to compare the differing opinions toward death penalty (variable name = “cappun”) by various racial groups (variable name = “race”).

  • What is the research question?
  • What is the null hypothesis?
  • What is the research hypothesis? (Non-Directional)
  • Basic descriptive analysis of the variables used (e.g., mode, % for each group, etc) in a paragraph form. (Don’t just include a number of SPSS tables and not talk about it.)
  • State the rationale for applying a chi-square test of independence in this investigation using appropriate readings and resources in Module 8. (Please cite specific references.)
  • Write out the results in an APA format.
    • Example: A chi-square test of independence was performed to examine the relationship between gender and like/dislike of American Idol. The relationship between these variables was significant, X2(1, N=120) = 3.92, p = .048. Female students at CUC were more likely (62%) than their male counterparts (44%) to like American Idol. The size of the effect was small with a phi value of .18.”
    • Be careful to state the % of “favor” and “oppose” death penalty within each racial category, not the % of different racial groups within “favor” and “oppose” death penalty categories. (An important distinction!)
  • Please include appropriate tables from the SPSS output used in your analyses.

apply implementation and communication plan case study 2

Attached is previous weeks assignments for help.

Consider the following information relative to your consulting engagement for Hoosier Media, Inc.

Marketing

Currently Hoosier Media utilizes traditional media vehicles for marketing. This includes print advertising to solicit new and renewal newspaper subscriptions. Other marketing tactics currently used include regional television and radio advertising spots. Management has expressed interest in expanding its marketing reach through social media and mobile app technology but is unsure how to move forward in those areas.

Information technology

Hoosier Media’s newsroom is in dire need of technological updates. All workstations currently have desktop computers; however, many employees have been requesting the ability to work from home as well as have access to company networks while on the road for business. Many of the younger employees would like to have access to iPads and would like to replace their desktop computer with lightweight laptop computers.

For the next phase of your consulting engagement, address the following in a 700- to 1,050-word paper:

  • Propose marketing and information technology implementation tactics for Hoosier Media, Inc.

The paper should also reflect on how the company should communicate its strategic plan to key stakeholders by:

  • Identifying the information that should be communicated.
  • Defining the audience that should receive the communication.
  • Identifying the channel(s) of communication.

This paper requires you to assume the role of a philanthropic advisor to a high‐net‐worth individual interested in donating $1 million to charity. You have done some initial diligence on the sector and have narrowed your client’s choices to three equally reputable 501c3, non‐profit organizations. Your assignment is to pick one and convince the philanthropist to invest all $1 million in your choice (the philanthropist has requested one organization vs. splitting the money). You also will let the philanthropist know how this $1 million should be directed (i.e., restricted donation, unrestricted, endowment, program specific, time specific).

Theme: Women’s Empowerment
You decided you would like to donate to an organization focused on women. You want to make sure that your client’s money will be going to a worthy organization making real impact in this sector. You have $1 million to allocate. Understanding that organizations working in this area might approach women’s empowerment through highly different means ‐‐ grantmaking, women’s education or hands on programs that work with women directly ‐‐ you have narrowed your search to three organizations you think are all doing what they do extremely well (at least at first glance!). You also care about each of their missions equally. Using what you have learned in the course so far (and logic you have learned being on the planet for the past 23+ years), conduct a critical analysis of each organization and, based on your findings, choose one to invest the $1 million. To do so, you must thoroughly analyze each of the three organizations and backup your decision to go with one vs. the others with concrete data ‐‐ not personal opinions ‐‐ including strong analysis of the organizations’ financial health. Your work will be evaluated for objectivity, clear analysis, and a well‐supported argument for the organization you selected.

The three organizations are:
Global Fund for Women (
www.globalfundforwomen.org
Women for Women International (
www.womenforwomen.org
Barnard College (
www.barnard.edu

Information you will need including each organization’s 990 (use most recent year ‐ 2014), Annual Reports & Financial Statements, and program specifics can be found online. Note: Some might have a formal, downloadable Annual Report and others might have equivalent information on their website). You may use any other sources you like as well. 1 1 Note: No need to cite information provided by the organizations via their websites or on their annual report, etc. If you use other sources such as newspaper articles, readings from the Course, please reference in footnotes or endnotes.

There is no right answer. You simply must defend your choice.

GUIDING QUESTIONS Each of the three organizations has a distinct mission and approach to empowering women. In considering where to invest your $1 million, please assess whether each group is meeting its mission (i.e., has the appropriate programs/services, measures impact), whether it has resources available and whether it has the management and organizational capacity to fulfill its mission now, and in the long term. You may use the following questions as a guide. Note: Do not just focus on one organization in your answer, reference all three.
1. Financial Position & Ratios: Which organization is the healthiest? How can you tell? What do the published financial statements and 990s show? Judge by their overall financial picture and operating budget, not by the size of their budget. Ratios to include: Current Ratio 1 and 2, UNA Ratio, Days Cash, Program vs. Administrative Expenses, Reliance, Fundraising Efficiency Note: please calculate all of the above ratios and include them in your attachment. You should only analyze, however, those ratios you think are relevant to your argument. Note when using current ratio and days cash: Please include a footnote that indicates which current assets and liabilities you are including in your ratio, and what you are including in cash and cash equivalents to calculate Days Cash. Just cash? Savings? Receivables? And why you did so. Note: Please use the most recent and same year Form 900 for each organization (look for 2013 printed in the top right corner of the first page of the 990).
 2. Organizational Capacity, Performance: Do you have confidence in the organization’s leadership? Can they raise the funds they require now and in the long term? Are the funds they do raise being used efficiently? Do they have the right staff and staffing structure? Do they plan for the future? Are they nimble and able to change if needed be? How efficient is the organization? How can you tell? Have they planned for growth?
3. Outcomes and Impact: What about their programs? Are they effective? How can you tell? What type of impact are they having on their clients/constituents? It is clear where your money would go and what impact it would have?
4. Making your Investment Decision: Taking what you’ve revealed in 1), 2), and 3), which of these organizations gets the $1 million? Give a brief summary of why you chose one over the others. Include how this $1 million should be directed (i.e., restricted donation, unrestricted, endowment, program specific, time specific).

bus520 finding leader you self assessment johari window

Assignment 1: Finding the Leader in You: Self-Assessment / Johari Window

The Johari Window emphasizes that we may not be aware of everything that there is to know about ourselves. Others may know things about us that we just cannot see or are unwilling to admit. One way to improve our personal relationships is to increase what we know about ourselves and what others know about us. The following two (2) behaviors are key to improving personal and professional relationships:
  • Openness to Feedback – we have to recognize that others see things in us that we may not be aware of and accept information they provide.
  • Willingness to Disclose – we have to trust others enough to share personal information with them.
Grasping the realities of organizational behavior begins with an understanding one’s own personality and behavioral tendencies. Assignment 1 is designed to address issues of personal understanding, planning, and professional development. By analyzing your own assessment, you will understand how intuitiveness, culture, diversity, and leadership style influence decision making. Reference the scores of the assessments that you completed for homework in Week 1 as you complete this assignment.
Write a two to three (4-5) page paper in which you:
  1. Develop a profile of your personality characteristics and assessment results.
  2. Summarize the results of the assessments you completed for homework in Week 1.
  3. Analyze how attributes / scores speak to your relationships and career choice.
  4. Submit the completed Self-Assessment Score Sheet as an appendix in Assignment 1.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:
  • Analyze the relationship between the basic organizational behavior models of individual, group, and organizational processes and the productivity of an organization.
  • Determine how workplace stress contributes to individual performance.
  • Explore how individual differences, personality traits, and perspectives impact the productivity of an organization.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in organizational behavior.
  • Write clearly and concisely about organizational behavior using proper writing mechanics.

application the impact of i o on application performance

Hey Norrye,

I enjoyed working with you. If you could can you assist me with this question also. Please note I’ve attached your last program. Please let me know if you have any questions.

In previous assignments, you used threads to improve the performance of a sort algorithm. Threads were initially applied in order to achieve processing concurrency in order to reduce the time required to sort data. This week’s readings highlighted various ways that I/O performance can impact the overall performance of an application or a system. The readings also identified specific principles that can be applied to improve the efficiency of I/O.

For this Assignment, you will consider the I/O performed in the threaded sort Assignment from Week 2 and how the I/O contributes to the performance of the threaded sort. Applying the principles identified in this week’s reading, along with the concurrency control mechanisms from Week 3, you will revise the threaded sort application in an effort to improve the I/O performance in order to affect an overall performance improvement.

To prepare:

  • Evaluate the manner by which the threaded sort application performs I/O to retrieve the data to be sorted.
  • Propose a strategy to improve the performance by applying one or more of the principles to improve the efficiency of I/O that were identified in this week’s reading.

By Day 7, implement your strategy by modifying your solution to the threaded sort Assignment from Week 2.

In addition, write a 2- to 3-page paper that evaluates how I/O performance impacts overall program performance. Make sure to include the following:

  • A description of your I/O strategy
  • An explanation on how you expected your strategy to improve performance
  • A summary of the actual change in performance observed when running the updated threaded sort

Submit a zip archive of your NetBeans project, implementing your strategy, to the Assignment Part 1 – Week 5 submission link and your 2- to 3-page paper to the Assignment Turnitin Part 2 – Week 5submission link.

Note: While both Part 1 and Part 2 submissions are required, you will only see your grade for this Assignment in the My Grades area for the Week 5 Assignment Part 1.
