Assessment Description

.

This assessment is a culmination piece. More importantly, you will need to showcase an understanding of marketing issues related to consumer behaviour such as attitudes, group influences, culture, social class, consumer learning processes, and personal buying decision-making processes.

The Task: Based on the scenario below, you are required to write a 2000-word report. In this report, you must demonstrate an understanding and application of various consumer behaviour concepts and theories by analysing the facts gathered from the video and the survey, and present strategic recommendations. You will be required to incorporate recent peer-reviewed literature in order to justify your proposed recommendations.

Scenario: Imagine that you have just been employed by the company of your chosen FMCG product (Herbal Essences Shampoo: Argan Oil of Morrocco) that you analysed in your earlier assessments. You have recently learnt that the company’s customer loyalty has declined over the last year and that repeat purchases are at a historic low.

You have now been asked to prepare a report in which you must critically analyse company’s current marketing strategy and marketing communication mix and its alignment to your findings. More specifically, you will need to determine if identified consumer behavioural factors in previous assessments align with company’s current marketing focus. Based on your analysis, you are also required to provide at least three strategic recommendations to the board of directors, along with reasons for recommending further improvements, all of which must be based on scholarly sources.

geek aka hostlerbetter math tutor

You are being contracted to create a math tutoring program for a local elementary school.  This tutoring software should ask children which operation they would like to work on.  Their choices should be as follows:

  1. Addition
  2. Subtraction
  3. Multiplication
  4. Quit Tutor

If any of the first three is selected, the user should be presented with 10 RANDOM mathematical problems from that set one at a time.  At all times the student should know what question in the set he/she is working on out of 10 questions.  The user should also know how many attempts he/she has taken per question.  If the user answers a problem incorrectly, the user should be notified that the response is incorrect and be given multiple chances to answer the question correctly.  With each incorrect answer, the attempt count should increase.  In the even of a correct response, the user should be notified that the answer is correct and the next problem should appear.

Upon completion of the question set, the user should be given a report of the number of questions answered correctly and in how many attempts.  The user’s grade should be calculated as (correctAnswers / NumberOfAttempts * 100).  The initial menu should be re-displayed and the user given the opportunity to attempt another set of random problems from the chosen operation.

Also, write the result of the student to a file for output.  This means you should ask for the student’s name prior to the menu for operation exercises.  The file output should have:

  1. The user’s name
  2. The operation exercise (addition/subtraction/multiplication)
  3. The correct / attempts values
  4. The percentage points.

Even though this is inefficient and slightly wasteful, create a file for each set completion or research how to append to a file and append each set to the same file.

 Film Critique

Review the critical analysis questions in the “Conclusion and Critic’s Resource” section of your textbook. Write an eight to ten page film critique (excluding the cover and reference pages) of an American feature film of your choosing. Use the list of critical analysis questions provided in your textbook as a guide while writing your paper.

Areas that must be covered:

  • Storytelling
  • Acting
  • Cinematography
  • Editing
  • Sound
  • Style and Directing
  • Impact of society on the film and vice versa
  • Genre
  • Application of at least one approach to analysis and interpretation
  • Overall textual themes

Writing Tips:

  • Students must select a film that they have not previously explored in class, either in written assignments or discussion posts.
  • Students must establish a coherent thesis statement in the introduction of their paper with a claim that they intend to prove. The body of the essay serves to support the thesis through an analysis of the film and other relevant material.  Avoid simply rehashing descriptive material from other source.
  • Support your thesis through textual and formal analysis. Refer to specific shots, scenes, characters, stylistic devices, and themes in the film.
  • As much as possible, use technical, literary and industry terms to make your points.
  • If needed, you may use additional resources to support your claims. Suggested sources might include academic books and articles; film reviews; and personal opinions from reputable film critics and scholars. Information other than production details obtained from popular sources such as The Internet Movie Database and Wikipedia is not considered reputable.
  • Only use plot information to support the thematic points of the paper. Include only one to two sentences of plot summary when explaining each of the required filmic elements.
  • Also, students should not choose a film that the authors of the textbook have analyzed in detail.

Film Critique
The Film Critique:

  1. Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages (excluding the cover and reference pages) in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide.
  2. Must include a cover page with the following:
    • Name of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  3. Must include an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  5. Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
  6. Must use APA style as outlined in your approved style guide to document all sources.
  7. Must include, on the final page, a Reference List that is completed according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide.
