What is the correlation of brand loyalty and brand inertia. Give a personal example that you have regarding this correlation. What aspects of consumer behavior concepts lead you to brand inertia? If the product was readily available, what circumstances would lead you to break from bran inertia? What marketing and consumer behavior concepts did you learn from this post?
Two topics are of special importance concerning habitual decision making: brand loyalty and brand inertia. Brand loyalty may be defined as a deeply held commitment to rebuy a product or service regardless of situational influences that could lead to switching behavior.8 For consumers to truly be brand loyal, they must have a bond with the product and believe that the consumption activity delivers value. Companies often attempt to reward loyalty with rewards programs as found in frequent flier miles, hotel reward points, and credit card cash-back deals. However, in order for these tactics to be successful, consumers must ultimately value both the product and the incentives offered.9 These programs must also have clear rules and rewards.10 This leads to a key difference between loyalty and what is referred to as brand inertia. Brand inertia is present when a consumer simply buys a product repeatedly without any real attachment. Loyalty includes an attitudinal component that reflects a true affection for the product.11 Strictly speaking, a consumer is not considered loyal if she simply buys the same product habitually. Brand loyalty affects consumption value in a number of ways. First, loyalty enables consumers to reduce searching time drastically by insisting on the brand to which they are loyal. This leads to a benefit of convenience. Second, loyalty creates value for a consumer through the benefits associated with brand image. Ford trucks are well-known for their ruggedness and durability. Ford owners benefit from this image. Finally, loyalty enables consumers to enjoy the benefits that come from long-term relationships with companies. For example, a consumer might enjoy special incentives that are offered to long-time Ford purchasers. Brand loyalty also has an impact on the value of the brand to the firm. As branding expert David Aaker asserts, consumer brand loyalty influences the value of a product to a firm because (a) it costs much less to retain current customers than to attract new ones, and (b) highly loyal customers generate predictable revenue streams. As can be seen, brand loyalty has benefits for both the consumer and the marketer. Brand loyalty is discussed in more detail in a subsequent chapter.
SG/468: Influencing Quality Within Healthcare
Wk 4 – Multifactorial Medication Mishap RCA

Read the Multifactorial Medication Mishap case study (Used with permission: Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Patient Safety Network).
Complete the root cause analysis worksheet to analyze the case.
Multifactorial Medication Mishap Case Study:
The Case A previously healthy 50-year-old man was hospitalized while recovering from an uncomplicated spine surgery. Although he remained in moderate pain, clinicians planned to transition him from intravenous to oral opioids prior to discharge. The patient experienced nausea with pills but told the bedside nurse he had taken liquid opioids in the past without difficulty. The nurse informed the physician that the patient was having significant pain, and liquid opioids had been effective in the past. When the physician searched for liquid oxycodone in the computerized prescriber order entry (CPOE) system, multiple options appeared on the list —two formulations for tablets and two for liquid (the standard 5 mg per 5 mL concentration and a more concentrated 20 mg per mL formulation). At this hospital, the CPOE system listed each choice twice, one entry with the generic name and one entry with a brand name. In all, the physician saw eight different choices for oxycodone products. The physician chose the concentrated oxycodone liquid product, and ordered a 5-mg dose. All medication orders at the hospital had to be verified by a pharmacist. The pharmacist reviewing this order recognized that the higher concentration was atypical for inpatients but assumed it was chosen to limit the volume of fluid given to the patient. The pharmacist verified the order and, to minimize the risk of error, added a comment to both the electronic medication administration record (eMAR) and the patient-specific label that the volume to be given was 0.25 mL (5 mg). For added safety, the pharmacist personally retrieved, labeled, and delivered the drug and a calibrated syringe to the bedside nurse to clarify that this was a high concentration formulation for which the volume to administer was 0.25 mL (a smaller volume than would typically be delivered). Shortly thereafter, the nurse went to the bedside to administer the drug to the patient for his ongoing pain. She gave the patient 2.5 mL (50 mg) of liquid oxycodone, a volume that she was more used to giving, and then left for her break. A covering nurse checked on the patient and found him unconscious—a code blue was called. The patient was given naloxone (an agent that reverses the effect of opioids), and he responded well. He was transferred to the intensive care unit for ongoing monitoring and a continuous infusion of naloxone to block the effect of the oxycodone. By the following morning, the patient had returned to his baseline with no apparent adverse effects.
Write a 525 word-summary in which you:
-Explain why a root cause analysis was appropriate for this situation.
-Analyze the impact of using tools like RCA, FMEA, and PDSA on the quality and safety of patient care.
Cite a minimum of two peer-reviewed or evidence-based sources published within the last five years to support your summary in an APA-formatted reference page.

What are Food Labels?
Food Labels are the “best source of consumer informationâ€. 90% of ALL processed and packaged foods must have a “consumer friendly†label. The new nutrition label (1994) features more consistent serving sizes and must include the following dietary components:
Total calories
Total fat content
Cholesterol
Fat grams
Sodium
Vitamin A
Vitamin C
Calories
Amount of saturated fats
Protein grams
Carbohydrate grams
Dietary fiber
Iron
Calcium
The food exempt from food labeling regulations are those with no appreciable amount of nutrients OR whose content varies from batch to batch, such as:
Deli and bakery items
Plain and unflavored teas and coffees
Various spices and flavorings
Food sold in restaurants
Labels are “voluntary†for fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat, poultry, or fish
The nutrition label (chart) must display serving size, nutrients per serving and % of daily values. The nutrition information applies to one serving; if you ate two servings, you consumed twice the amount of calories and other nutrients listed on the label.

Step 14
Answer the following question: Did any of your items surprise you with its contents or ingredients?
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I have couple of questions that needs to be answered. R code will be provided, but you might need to write couple more lines to get the needed answer. Very simple.
Attached is the questions. will need in a day.
Chapter 1: Here is this first graded discussion question, related to Chapter 1 and worth 10 points: First, what was wrong with the Ghostbusters ESP experiment (video link) at the end of your chapter one slideshow, and how could it be improved to meet scientific standards? Second, if you were doing this study, what would be your hypothesis, and what would your independent and dependent variables be (make sure to define what you mean by an “independent†and “dependent†variable? Third, how would you make it an experimental (rather than correlational) study? Finally, what are some of the ethical problems with this study? Discuss this research with your group if possible. I recommend responding to another group member at least once, though I encourage you to respond multiple times as you engage in a group discussion. If you cannot respond to another group member, then make sure your first comment is very, very, very good if you want all ten points! Also note that this question asks for FOUR things from you. Missing an item will lower your score, so make sure to respond thoroughly to all four parts of the question.
For your follow-up comment, I want you to agree or disagree with other group members on their interpretation of the video, noting why you feel this way (did they get the variables right? Does their study sound feasible?). You could also suggest other ways of conducting research by using other’s comments as a jumping-off point.
I have a few helpful guidelines about your posts. First, look at the grading rubric if you need some additional guidance. Second, spelling and grammar count, so make sure to proofread before formally submitting both your initial and (if included) follow-up comment. Third, a good guideline for all discussion questions is roughly a sentence per assignment point. That is, I would expect at least 10 sentences from you across the initial and follow-up comments (could be more, could be less, but that is a good rule of thumb!). Finally, note that on occasion, I may give some extra points to students (11 or 12 for the whole discussion rather than 10), but this will be very rare and only for exceptional answers that draw on additional material not covered in the course materials (the daily news and the internet might be good sources of outside materials).
Each student will engage in a discussion board for each chapter and answer a question posed by the instructor regarding material covered that week. Students will leave a minimum of two comments, including an initial comment (up to 8 points) that fully answers that weeks’ question as well as a follow-up comment (up to 2 points) that responds to the initial comment of at least one other group member. My suggestion is to have at least one sentence per point (that is, 8 initial sentences minimum and 2 follow-up sentences minimum). This won’t guarantee you all 10 points, but it is a good rule of thumb. See the last page for a very good discussion example from a prior student!
|
INTERPRETATION |
GRADING CRITERIA |
|
|---|---|---|
|
10 points |
Excellent |
The comment is accurate, original, relevant, teaches us something new, fully answers the weekly discussion question, and is well written. 10 point comments add substantial learning presence to the course and stimulate additional thought about the issue under discussion. It incorporates both personal knowledge and opinions as well as draws on concepts introduced in the textbook and powerpoint slides to fully justify those personal opinions. |
|
8-9 points |
Above Average |
The comment lacks at least one of the above qualities but is above average in quality. A 9 point comment makes a significant contribution to our understanding of the issue being discussed. An 8 point comment has grammar and readability issues but is otherwise similar to the 9 point comment |
|
6-7 points |
Average |
The comment lacks 2 or 3 of the required qualities. Comments that focus only upon personal opinion or personal experience often fall within this category. Personal viewpoints are welcome in discussions, but the comment should also include information relevant to the chapter being discussed. That is, the comment incorporates definitions, theories, or concepts introduced in the book chapter and powerpoint slides. A 7 point comment has better grammar and is more readable than a 6 point comment |
|
4-5 points |
Minimal |
The comment presents little or no new information and answers only a few of the topics proposed in the discussion. However, 1 to 2 point comments may provide important social presence and contribute to a collegial atmosphere. A 5 point comment has better grammar and is more readable than a 4 point comment |
|
2-3 points |
Below average |
The comment adds very little value to the discussion, answering only one minor facet of the question. A 3 point comment has better grammar and is more readable than a 2 point comment |
|
0-1 point |
Unacceptable |
A comment is missing or late (0 points), or adds no value to the discussion, but there the student did write something (1 point). All comments must be made no later than 10:00 pm on the due date to receive even the 1 point |
