You are to create a PowerPoint project regarding a learning theorist or theory identified in Chapter 3 of the textbook.  Some examples include classical conditioning, operant conditioning, cognitive theory, Ivan Pavlov, Albert Bandura, and Edward Thorndike.  The PowerPoint project should be a minimum of 15 slides in length (1 title slide, 13 information/content slides, and 1 References slide).  You should use quotation marks when quoting and cite appropriately when quoting or paraphrasing.  APA writing style should be used when citing references in context and when indicating references on the References slide.  A total of 3 references should be used, your textbook and two other references.

WEEK 6: HRM, TECHNOLOGY AND CHANGE

Even though technology has shifted HRM to strategic partner, has this change resulted in HRM losing sight of its role towards employee resource and support? While companies are seeing the value in moving to a technological based business, how might HRM technology impact the “human” side of “human resource”?

Discuss ethical dilemmas in the workplace, cultural scenarios, private, and public sectors. Identify ethical issues from case studies and current events using moral and ethical theories. Recognize moral decision-making from multiple points of view.

WEEK 6: BUDGET, TRANSFER OF LEARNING, AND ROI

You are a Senior Trainer at your company. Your boss, the Training Manager has tasked you with the following.

Design and facilitate a one-day (eight-hour long) classroom experience in which you need to help develop a group of engineers and software programmers to become project managers.

After training, they will have to manage some significant projects. Discuss the instructional characteristics and activities you will use to ensure that the engineers and software programmers acquire at least a fundamental understanding of project management.

Due to this situation it will be important that learning is transferred to the actual work that engineers will have to implement.  With that job application expectation there is also an expectation that the ROI will visible to management.   They want to know that the training is paying for itself…at least….with the transfer of learned skills to the job application.

How will you build a training budget to meet the requirements of designing a training session what might include gaming, simulations, and other training technology….it all costs?

How will you know if the engineers actually apply the learning?  What is the measure?

What are the components that make up a training budget?

What type of formula might you apply to determine the ROI?

Provide your initial response in an audio format or a video format. Use Kaltura or Canvas Media….Then, your remaining two responses may be text-based. Remember, your remaining responses must be on different days in order to earn full credit.

WEEK 6: TEAM PROJECT

Compare the team member’s Part 3 that were submitted in Week 5 as part of each student’s Course Project. List a summary of the data collected, the training needs identified, recommendations and justification for each organization. Each organization should have its own section in the team paper and a final section should be a comparison and assessment of these organizations. The team should express an opinion of which surveys will generate the best ROI and how each can be improved. This week’s paper should be at least between 2 and 4 pages per student on the team in length (not counting title page, References and any images or charts).

Assignment 6

Now it is time to shift methodological lenses. You will now consider the research problem you identified in activity 1 using a qualitative lens. For this assignment, you should locate five qualitative research studies and create an annotated bibliography. Include the following information in your annotation for each source: Begin with an APA style-formatted reference of the source followed by a block paragraph containing the following: Identify the research question(s) Identify the qualitative research design and the data collection instrument(s) used (Examples of instruments might include interviews, questionnaires, observations, etc.) Describe the population and note the specific number of participants  Summarize the findings of the research study

Submit paper of your discussion using points of emphasis above. 3-5 pages. Be sure to use APA formatting with a title and reference page.

Now, we will consider mixed-methods research, which blends qualitative and quantitative components to address a research problem. For this assignment, locate and read two mixed methods research studies related to the problem you identified in activity 1. Then, create a presentation using PowerPoint (or another presentation program of your choice). In this presentation, explain the following aspects of mixed methods research:
  Timing Weighing Mixing Theorizing

Then, summarize how each of the two research studies addressed these aspects of mixed methods research.

Submit a presentation using points of emphasis above. 6-10 slides. Be sure to use APA formatting with a title and reference slide.

Section Introduction:

The research problem defines a specific issue for investigation. A problem must be clearly described. The research problem should contain details about each of these questions: what is the gap in the literature, what is the problem, whose problem is it, and what happens if the problem isn’t solved?

The problem to be studied should offer the opportunity to fill a gap in the literature, so you should search all related areas and indicate how the results of your study will contribute to the body of knowledge or practice.

You may be surprised to learn that the problem statement is often a very short paragraph or two of about 250 words. In it, you should include citations to the literature substantiating that the social problem or gap in the literature. Once the guiding questions (noted in the graphic above) are answered, you will have sufficiently demonstrated that there is an existing problem worthy of research.

Read Chapter 5 The Introduction in Research Design by John W. Creswell. Read the Doctoral Project Template and focus on the problem statement, purpose statement, and research questions.

Assignment 8

For this assignment, you will create a 250-300 word problem statement using citations from at least three articles collected for previous activities in the course. The problem statement should capture the following: What is the gap in the literature? What is the social or research problem as identified in the peer-reviewed literature? Whose problem is it?

What happens if the problem is not addressed?

Submit the paper using points of emphasis above. 1 page. Be sure to use APA formatting with a title and reference page.
