The criteria exposed in your paperwork must be exclusively based on peer reviewed article, and I will be very fussy in confirming the reliability of your statements. A formal paper using APA format according to Publication Manual American Psychological Association (APA) (6th ed.).2009 ISBN: 978-1-4338-0561-5 will be submitted via Exercise Submission. This paperwork must be submitted on week # 12 (November 22 at 11:59 PM EST), so that you have plenty of time to start collecting literature.

Approved Topics: Examine how participative leadership functions in today’s modern health care organization and compare it to other types of leadership styles. Evaluate how each type of leadership style may impact organizational culture, employee performance, and how it may help or hinder the legitimacy of authority.

After identifying your topic, choose a health care organization in your area. This organization may be small or large and may provide single inpatient health service or multiple outpatient services; it is your choice. Consider your topic in light of the leadership of this organization and research the challenges and successes it has faced in managing operational effectiveness.  You are welcome to use as many research methods as possible to obtain information for your organization and its managers (e.g., web-based resources, electronic articles, or personal interviews). The more informed you are, the better prepared you will be to complete your project.  

Finally, develop a management training program that includes relevant guidelines and information to combat the issues identified in the selected topic, as well as recommendations for managers to more effectively lead health care organizations. Your training program should be in the form of a 20 to 25 slide PowerPoint presentation (excluding title and reference slides) that includes comprehensive speaker’s notes (i.e., at least 150 words) for each slide. Utilize at least three to five scholarly sources from the Ashford University Library and two to three current, scholarly web sources (total of five to eight references required). The Senior Project: Must be 20 to 25 PowerPoint slides (excluding title and reference slides) in length. There are 20 content criteria worth a total of 10 points.   Must include a title slide that contains the following:  Title of project Your name Course name and number Instructor’s name Date submitted Must include an introduction with a succinct thesis statement. Must address the topic of the project with critical thought in the areas of:  Organization details Challenges and opportunities Training program outcomes Impact on at least three stakeholder groups involved delineated by cost, quality, and access to service Suggested actions Must include a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis. Must use at least five supporting graphics (images, graphics, and/ or multimedia) are included and relevant communicating the training content (two points). Write a 500-800 word paper discussing the different methodologies and designs used in each study.

Discuss the external and internal validity issues associated with each methodology and design. Provide a brief summary of each article. Cite using APA format, do NOT use full article titles in your writing. Discuss the external and internal validity issues associated with each methodology and design.  Evaluate the source (i.e. the journal) the article was published in. Evaluate the sources, type of sources, the quantity of sources, and applicability of sources the authors use. Check the information you are using against another source beyond the reference page to ensure the validity of the research. For example, if the piece includes specific dates or facts, check those dates and facts against a second reliable source. If the facts do not match, there is a good chance the research article is not entirely valid. Verify the author’s credentials, and co-author’s credentials. Describe how the authors described the specific details of how the study was designed as well as the overall study components. How did the authors describe the rigor of the study? How did the authors control for extraneous variables? How did the authors establish the effects of the intervention/treatment? There are several types of internal validity factors to evaluate including experimental mortality, randomization, blinding, adverse effects of placebo administration, and scientific misconduct. Are there any methodological problems? Do the authors demonstrate statistical significance? Use the same criteria for establishing the effects of treatment to evaluate the methodological problems. How did the authors establish a case for generalizability? Generalization can be established even if the authors did not use randomization, if this is the case in the articles you chose, describe how the authors evaluated for generalizability. Describe how using a different methodology or design might have been beneficial for each study and describe why. Summarize your entire paper.

    Assignment: Evidence-Based Capstone Project, Part 6: Disseminating Results

The dissemination of EBP results serves multiple important roles. Sharing results makes the case for your decisions. It also adds to the body of knowledge, which creates opportunities for future practitioners. By presenting results, you also become an advocate for EBP, creating a culture within your organization or beyond that informs, educates, and promotes the effective use of EBP.

To Prepare: Review the final PowerPoint presentation you submitted in Module 5, and make any necessary changes based on the feedback you have received and on lessons you have learned throughout the course. Consider the best method of disseminating the results of your presentation to an audience.
