This week we are going to discuss the future and barriers of nursing professional development. The literature suggests that nurses have several barriers in their professional development (Wilson, 2015). Some of the future interventions to improve those barriers are: remove scope of practice barriers, expand opportunity for nurses to lead on collaborative improvement efforts, and create more nurses’ residency programs (Wilson, 2015).
