 Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is essential in the sustainability of all  healthcare organizations.  Outline the processes, or steps, involved in  the strategic planning process and continual monitoring of the internal  and external environment. Provide a word initial  post that fully answers the following questions:  Discuss how strategic planning is a dynamic, verses linear, process.  Why is this important? What roles, if any, do quality and information technology play in an organization’s strategic direction?

Utilize at least one scholarly source, cited in correct APA  format that supports factual statements and conclusions about the  topic.

dentify the agency, organization, or community for which you will develop a strategic plan. State whether the agency, organization, or community exists at the local, regional, national, or international level. Then, discuss why you have chosen this agency

The application of social change, leadership, and advocacy to a specific  human and social services organization is a systematic process. The  initial step is to select and delineate a professional or societal issue  about which you are passionate, and then locate an organization from  anywhere in the world whose mission is related to this issue. Once you  determine the issue and organization that you will focus on, the next  step is to set a manageable social change, leadership, or  advocacy-related goal for the organization.

Human services professionals can strive to achieve and/or support social  change, leadership, or advocacy-related goals by creating a strategic  plan. Throughout this course, you will develop the core elements of a  strategic plan for your Capstone Project. You build off the coursework  you completed in previous courses to conduct a needs assessment as well  as develop the fundamentals, strategic issues, and technical elements of  the strategic plan.

 To prepare for this Discussion:

Review this week’s Learning Resources, considering  strategies and approaches that human and social services professionals  may use to achieve social change, leadership, and advocacy goals.

Review the Capstone Project Overview in the Course Information area and the Final Project: Developing a Strategic Plan – Introduction to the Final Project  media in the Weekly Resources. Select one professional or societal  issue that arouses your passion as a human and social services  professional, and then choose a human or social services agency or  organization, or a community, that works to support this issue. This can  be a local, regional, national, or international agency, organization,  or community. Throughout the completion of your Capstone Project, you  will explore this issue and agency in depth, examining them from  multiple perspectives. Therefore, you should select an agency,  organization, or community issue that speaks to you as a human and  social services professional.

Fifth Amendment

Everyone has heard or seen the “Miranda Rights” on television and/or in   movies. In fact, most people could probably recite what they are without   reading the actual U.S. Supreme Court case or reviewing a criminal law   textbook. However, there are a number of factors at play that determine when   the Miranda rights must be given to a suspect. Does an officer have to   Mirandize you if he walks up on the street and says, “How are you today?”   When do constitutional provisions “kick in”?

How would you explain the Miranda warnings and their significance to a friend   of yours not in the criminal justice field? At a minimum, address the   following questions: What does the Fifth Amendment        of the U.S. Constitution mean when it states that a person shall not “be        compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself”? When must a police officer        read an accused their “Miranda warnings”? If a police officer violates        a defendant’s Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, what        happens to the criminal case against that defendant?

Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims   with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources,   and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’   posts by Day 7. Focus your responses on the elements of the Miranda warning,   and question whether the warning is still necessary?

Different School Models

Part One: There is a range of school models that exist within our school communities, all of which have the goal of helping students achieve their potential. You will need to interview two teachers, principals, or teaching support staff members from two different schools to complete this assignment. Although it is not necessary, you should try to visit each site. Each school must be a different school model as discussed in the readings. Compare and contrast the two schools based on what you learn from your visits and/or interviews. The goal is to analyze the two different school models, compare the type of teaching and learning that occurs within each, understand what each school has identified as a priority, and understand what each school or classroom has determined is the top issue(s). In addition to identifying key statistics, such as the type of school, demographics, and student-to-teacher ratio, use the following questions as a guide for your observation/interview: What are the most important issues you currently face      in ensuring all students achieve their potential?  How are you addressing these issues?  What role does technology play in classrooms to support      teaching and learning?  If you had to choose one subject area that your      students need the most support in mastering, what would it be?  What do you see as the most important skills to be      taught?  How would you identify 21st-century skills?  How would you describe the teaching in your      classroom?  What role do you see students having in the teaching      and learning process? Teachers?  How has teaching changed over the years?  What are the key issues you currently face?

Part Two: Place the information you glean from your interviews in a chart similar to the one below. This project is designed to give you insights into the real-life issues, topics, and complexities that practitioners address daily while also providing a forum for you to reflect on your beliefs and practices. Once the chart is complete, you should include a two- to three-page summary, identifying the implications of what you gleaned from your research on your own practice. Questions to consider in your summary are: What did you learn from the visits?  What are the implications for your own teaching and      learning? Your philosophy of education?  What areas of new knowledge do you plan to      explore?  How was your thinking different or similar?  How would you address some of the issues in your      classroom?  How would you prioritize the work in these classrooms      if you were the teacher?  What role could technology play in assisting with the      work?  Reflect on the ISTE Standards for      Teachers you reviewed last week and share any insights related      to your research.
