Project: PHIL-200 – Introduction to Business Ethics
Evaluation: 30%
1. Description and Objective
The student’s projects will enable a group of students to assess and analyze contemporary ethical
challenges facing the corporate world. (within the last 10 years.)
The students will be invited to choose a specific topic, which will be discussed in class, and answer the
following questions;
1. Does this case represent an ethical issue? If so, explain why?
(i.e. Use steps 1-2-3 of the model for ethical decision making.)
2. What would be the best alternative actions possible – from an ethical perspective?
(i.e. Use steps 4 and 5 of the model for ethical decision making.)
3. What are the positive and the negative outcomes of this alternative on the stakeholders?
(i.e. What are the benefits and the shortcomings of the impacts of this decision on the customers,
employees, investors, government, the environment, the overall society, etc.?)
2. Deliverables
a) The findings of each team will be presented to the group, with the help of a multimedia support
provided by the students. The maximum time allowed to present the project will be 40 minutes
and 10 minutes will be reserved for questions and discussion at the end of the presentation, for
a total of 50 minutes.
b) A supporting document of a maximum of 5 pages will be presented to the teacher on the day of
the scheduled presentation to the class, but prior to the presentation. The document should be
presented in accordance with the standards discussed in class and include a cover page with the
names of every members of the team, typed in a numbered pages Word document at doublespaced lines and refer to a minimum of 5 scientific sources. The structure will respect the
following; introduction, arguments and analysis, conclusion.

3. Evaluation criteria
This project will account for 30% of the total grade for this class. Students will be evaluated both on
their performance as a group, as well as individually.
1. Scope (Information presented within the defined geographical and historical context)
2. Content quality and accuracy (Quantity, quality and coherence of arguments and sources
presented)
3. Format (According to the abovementioned elements in 2.b) and the quality of orthograph,
grammar, vocabulary, overall presentation and structure of the document and of the
multimedia support)
4. The deadline for submitting the group paper is at the beginning of class on the day of the
presentation. Late submission will automatically be penalized by 50%.
