Assignment 2: Project Schedule Changes
You have kicked off the District 4 Production Warehouse Move project, your contractors are in place and working on receiving the proper building permits.
You originally were told the permits would only take 2 weeks to obtain but the contractors are telling you it will now take 3 weeks. You need to build the additional week into your schedule for each permit that will be obtained.
In addition, your framing and drywall contractors have just told you they are running late on their other jobs and can only release half their crew for your project. This will double their schedule.

The electronics have to be ruggedized via a polymer encapsulation process and tested for the capability of handling vibration and various rough handling. It takes one operator, who is paid $25 per hour, 30 minutes to manufacture and test 10 of these ruggedized microprocessors. The lead manufacturing engineer has decided to see if training can improve the efficiency of the process. There are two competing training programs that the engineer wants to evaluate.
Training program one involves bringing a trainer to the plant and having them work directly with the operator and takes 3 hours to deliver. This training program costs the company $500 to deliver. After training one operator, the operator is able to complete 10 encapsulations in only 20 minutes.
Training program two involves 5 hours worth of training and some special equipment and costs $800 per operator to deliver. However, after training, 10 encapsulations can be done in only 15 minutes.
a) Calculate the training effectiveness ratio and % transfer for each training program. Based only, on these numbers, which program would you choose?
b) Now consider the cost savings realized from increased productivity (30 minutes for 10 parts reduced to 20 minutes for training program one and reduced to 15 minutes for program two for 10 parts). The main approaches to art history are formal/visual analysis, iconographic, contextual (religion, politics, etc.) and biographical or psychological. As you do your research, read critically. Is your author convincing? What and how does the author use for evidence? Is the author presenting new information or simply summarizing previous work? What questions are left unanswered? Research your topic in depth.Choose topics or artists not covered in class. Your goal is to contribute to the content of the course with new material.
If you are working on a specific artist, (or movement) include a brief summary of personal and professional background. Explain innovative work, working method, aesthetic intentions. What movement is your artist associated with and how? How does the work relate to other artists and movements? What major themes are you discussing? Have a clear overall point to make about why your artist and the work are important. Summarize interesting critiques you’ve researched. Do you agree with them? Use your visual/formal analysis skills when describing specific works to illustrate your points.
