The DTGOV IMB has considered your assessment of the risk management and security issues for the migration of DTGOV’s office productivity and email tools to an SaaS provider. They have decided that they need an additional assessment on the management and the SLA of the chosen provider. You have been assigned the task of providing the IMB with an assessment of the management requirements and the provisions of the SLA for the proposed provider. The first project will be a short statistical paper (3 pages not including a reference and title page) analyzing a career of your choosing. (***I WANT TO BE A NURSE SO YOU CAN USE THIS TOPIC) It can be the career you are in, hoping to break into, or one of general interest to you. Your paper will shed light on the current state of the career such as salaries, employment outlook, education requirements, geographical differences in employment outlooks, job satisfaction, a 'day in the life' discussion, and other statistics of your choosing. Any personal insights and experience you have to share on the career choice are also welcome. Specifically, the paper should be double-spaced, meet APA requirements, and have: A title page An introductory paragraph The main body of the project should be written in your own words. Quotes should used sparingly. You must use data from the BLS but you can also include data from other sources if cited correctly. You MUST choose three (3) different types of graphs to illustrate your information but the graph must be appropriate for that data. Examples of graphs you MAY use are: Salaries by year Average salary with and without a degree for that field Comparison of salary for your career compared to the average U.S. salary Growth of employment in your field over time AND MORE! The paper should discuss the career you chose in detail and use statistics to support any claims you make about the career. The goal is to create a paper that helpfully summarizes the career choice and would give a reader an informed perspective on it. A conclusion paragraph that summarizes your paper. A reference page using APA format.

Below is a list from which you will select one topic for the Week Two assignment, another topic for the Week Three assignment, and a third topic for both the Outline of the Final Paper and the Final Paper.  The topic you select for your Outline of the Final Paper and this Final Paper must be different from the topics you select for the Week Two and Week Three assignments.
The topics include:

• Can physical exercise affect cognitive performance in old age? Consider the time of occurrence of physical exercise (i.e., earlier in life or during old age) in your answer.

• Does bilingualism improve brain functioning?
• Why do students in the United States tend to under-perform in math and science?

Once you have chosen your topic, examine the various theories of human development learned in the course and choose one or two that best assist you in understanding the issues involved in your topic. In your assignment address the following:

• Identify some of the major domains of human development and how they are impacted.
• Examine the physical, biological, emotional, cognitive, and/or social factors that are affected.
• Identify the stages of development that are affected and describe the cultural and historical perspectives of partitioning the lifespan that influence the interpretations of the available data on the topic.
• Describe the influences of family, culture, and environment and the roles they play.

Be sure to examine the available research in human development before completing this assignment.

Writing the Final Paper

The Final Paper:

1. Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length (excluding title and reference pages), and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
2. Must include a title page with the following:
   1. Title of paper

   3. Course name and number
   4. Instructor’s name
   5. Date submitted
3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
   1. You may use the introduction you developed during the Week Four assignment or a revised version if changes are deemed necessary.
4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
5. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
   1. Conclude with an answer to the selected question. Did the evidence you surveyed answer the question satisfactorily?
   2. Include an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the available evidence.
   3. Illustrate how each source fits specific sections of your Final Paper. The goal is to demonstrate that supporting evidence exists for statements that are made in the paper.  
   4. If possible, suggest the course that future research should take if answers to the selected question are deemed less than conclusive.
6. Must use at least five scholarly sources, all of which must come from the Ashford University Library or Google Scholar.
7. Must summarize each article including the purpose of the investigation, its methodology, and results.
   1. Rely on the brief summaries of the articles (including the purpose of each investigation, its methodology and results) that you developed during Week Four to construct an organized summary of the scientific evidence that answers the question you selected.  
   2. If possible, select peer-reviewed articles that summarize the evidence available in a given field of study (e.g., meta-analysis combines the findings of different studies to uncover trends, commonalities and differences).
   3. Order the articles in the way you think you will discuss them in your paper. Then develop a summary of the scientific evidence that answers the question you selected.
   4. You may reference your textbook and other required materials from the course; however, these will not fulfill the resource requirement.

Reading and thinking like a historian means to use critical thinking in studying history like a “detective” looking for historical truths, instead of memorizing the facts being pushed. We think before we read. “thinking historically” means to look at a historical fact critically. First, it helps the historian to develop a genuine curiosity and interest in the historical fact. Say, how will studying this part of history will benefit people today, or change our view of the history. I believe if a historian wanted to know more about a history, he/she would ask more questions and dived deeper into information. Second, as Professor Sam Wineburg says in his powerpoint film, "Why Historical Thinking Matters", the process of thinking historically includes sourcing, contextualizing, close reading, and collaborating. Sourcing means to think about the author’s background and identify the validity of the source by considering the overall meaning. Contextualizing is to put the source in the historical context to examine. Close reading refers to read the source close to figure out the author’s tone and claims and validate the reliability of the claims by cross-referencing other sources from the same time and area. Lastly, formulate your own interpretation of the source, identify the agreement and disagreement of the sources. As mentioned above, “reading like a historian” is one part of the active thinking process of the historian. Professor Moore's document "How to Read" illustrates this process. “Always historicize”, always consider the historical context which inspired the author to become interested in the topic, the author’s thinking process and resources to make the claims. “Always biographize”, refer to the author’s background to think about how it influences the author’s writing. “Always genericize”, consider the genre of the documents. Read carefully the meanings, the mood, the voice conveyed by the words used. “There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes”. A historian takes into account the author’s background, gather as many sources as possible, and refer to different views when they read the evidence, form the interpretation of the source, and point out the agreement and disagreement. This is how a historian read and think.
