-Supply-and-Demand-Observe-a-change-in-price-in-any-market-you-frequent-

Observe a change in price in a department store, grocery store, or any market you frequent.

For the second part of the assignment, write a short essay that, based on your knowledge of economic theory, describes the process that has changed the price. In your description of the process, identify the variable that you think has brought about the change in price that you observed.

Tips for Exemplary Work

  1. Read the instructions carefully! The assignment will be graded based on your ability to follow instructions. Students who fail to follow the instructions will receive a zero score.
  2. Your short answer essay should consist of two paragraphs. The first paragraph is the thesis statement (a one sentence paragraph) and the second paragraph should elaborate in more detail on the “why” and “how” question already answered in the thesis statement.
  3. This is not a three to five paragraph essay, so write only two paragraphs and do not write a conclusion.
  4. Read the Thesis Statement [PDF] handout before you start working on this assignment!
  5. Remember that only the determinants of demand and the determinants of supply are the variables in question that can change demand and supply, and hence, price.
  6. Save your essay in a Word document on your computer because every time you go back and click on Re-submit Assignment to edit your assignment before the due date, Canvas will give you a blank text box in the Rich Content Editor.
  7. Do not underestimate the amount of time needed to complete this assignment! Start working on the assignment early in the week so that you can submit the assignment well before the deadline because emergencies tend to happen right around the deadline, and if you don’t have time to deal with unexpected events, then you won’t be able to submit the assignment and you’ll miss it.

Litigation-Against-Law-Enforcement-Officials

Introduction:

Civil liability may occur under tort law in several circumstances. For instance, a police officer will be found liable when what happened can be blamed solely on the officer and on nobody else and transcends negligence. Additionally, a supervisor can be held liable when the supervisor is involved in the act or when what happened can be linked to one or all of the seven areas of supervisor negligence. Finally, a city or county is considered liable when what happened was the result of policy or custom.

Recent cases have addressed the issue of liability regarding both police officers’ individual liability as well as the potential civil liability of government entities. Two such cases are Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005) and Brosseau v. Haugen (2004). Review the cases of Castle Rock v. Gonzales and Brosseau v. Haugen, considering that both of these cases could be said to favor law enforcement.

Instructions:

  • 1: Articulate how the rules of criminal procedure apply to a criminal justice practitioner.
    • Explain potential individual and departmental sources of tort liability.
  • 2: Illustrate ethical compliance with criminal procedure from a criminal justice practitioner perspective.
    • Articulate officer- and departmental-level adjustments needed to avoid civil liability.
    • Describe how sources of tort liability impact the field of criminal justice.

    Special Instructions:

  • Create a 1 page essay in APA format according to the instructions above. Use 2 academically verified sources for references. Utilize in-text citations.

Since Nintendo entered the video game industry in 1974, they have successfully brought to market a number of innovative products that proved to be quite disruptive. I would rate their willingness to adapt their products and process innovations fairly high.

Their success in the console and handheld video game market can be attributed to their first success; the introduction of Donkey King to the Mario world (Davis, 2014). What would follow is a trove of video game characters specifically licensed for and intended to be used on Nintendo platforms.

Nintendo would dominate this space for some time with their NES console lineup, and more recent, the Wii system. Though technologically, these systems were innovative, its the ease of use throughout their product line that makes them innovative (“Nintendo Business Strategy,” 2017). By making their games easy to use, regardless of age, with recognizable characters, Nintendo has targeted several segments of this market as an adaptive strategy.

Current and future innovations include the portable Switch system and augmented reality gaming; which will be critical for sustainability through innovation (“Nintendo Business Strategy,” 2017).

Nintendo is very dependent on their ability to innovate and willingness to adapt for organizational effectiveness and profitability. In a highly competitive industry such as video games, its important that Nintendo continue to do the things in the unorthodox manner that made them so successful.
