Summative-Assessment

Summative Assessment

The Summative Assessment for this course will involve the application of professional presentation skills in preparing a Power Point presentation and a narrative summary that might be used in an oral presentation related to communication in the human services field. This Final Project will focus on one group in need that is served by human service professionals, taking into account all of the learning outcomes identified throughout the course. Note: The Final Project requires the submission of both the Power Point presentation and the narrative summary.

Imagine that you are a human service professional interviewing clients from a particular group and select one of the following groups:

  • Children and families
  • Elderly
  • Homeless
  • People with mental illness
  • People with disabilities

Upon selecting a group of interest, prepare a six- to eight-slide presentation (excluding title and reference slides) that includes the following:

  • A description of the group’s challenges and specific communication needs (one slide)
  • A description of at least two communication theories applicable within the human services field. Discuss how you, in the capacity of a human services professional, might use each theory to effectively engage with your clients. (one to two slides)
  • Examples of three verbal and three nonverbal communication techniques/skills you might use when working with clients from within the health and human services workplace setting (three to four slides)

In addition to your Power Point presentation, prepare a four- to six-page narrative summary (excluding title and reference pages) that further explains your selected methods. Specifically, your summary will

  • Describe your selected communication theory as applied to the health and human services setting, including your reasoning for selecting them, as well as benefits and limitations of their use when working with your selected group.
  • Identify active listening skills you might use in interpersonal (e.g., one-on-one interactions) and group (e.g., group sessions) settings within the workplace.
  • Identify empathy skills you might use in interpersonal (e.g., one-on-one interactions) and group (e.g., group sessions) settings within the workplace
  • Describe how family, culture, and gender issues impact communication.
  • Consider your proposed approach to interviewing clients from your selected group and identify some of your personal communication strengths and growth.

Miranda-and-Admissibility-of-Statements

Introduction:

For a suspect’s statements to be admissible in court, he or she must meet certain criteria. As you have learned from the Miranda case, in that instance, the Court rejected voluntariness of statements as the sole test for admissibility. Although voluntariness is still required, it is now assumed if three questions can be answered in the affirmative. First, it must be shown that the Miranda warning was given. Second, if it was given, it will be necessary to determine whether there was a waiver. Finally, if there was a waiver, there must be evidence that the waiver was intelligent and voluntary. There are certainly other circumstances when confessions may be admissible when made before Miranda warning is given, which makes this area of law very intricate and fact-based.

You will use the Miranda and Admissibility Statements media as the foundation for your assignment.

Instructions:

In your paper:

  • Determine whether you can question the occupants of the vehicle in the scenario at the scene without Miranda warning. (Question 1: Was Miranda warning given?)
  • Analyze, after the Miranda warning was given, whether there was a waiver. (Question 2: If Miranda warning was given, was there a waiver?)
  • Explore whether, assuming there was a waiver by the suspects, the waiver was intelligent and voluntary. (Question 3: If there was a waiver, was it intelligent and voluntary?)
  • Explain how Miranda changed the way police officers perform their jobs.

Special Instructions:

Create a 3 page paper in APA format according to the instructions above. Use 2 academically verified sources for references. Be sure to utilize in-text citations. Use the transcript and incorporate it in your paper. The link is in the drop file below

business-communication-cover-letter-resume-references-copy-of-job-posting

Your job package will include the following:

Cover Letter: This should be tailored to the specific job/internship you chose. Address the letter to the person who posted the ad and if there is not a name listed, see if you can contact the company to find the name of the appropriate person. The content should not repeat what is contained in the resume and must identify the specific job for which you are applying, highlight the qualifications that make you a good candidate for the position, and contain a request for an opportunity to be interviewed.

Résumé: Your resume is a very personal sales tool that should be kept current. You’ll find a variety of sample resumes in class and should practice using different samples until it looks professional and reads well. The resume should be no longer that one page (two pages are recommended ONLY if you have extensive professional experience in the field of your choice).

References: Identify three individuals who would provide positive recommendations for you. Include their names, addresses, telephone numbers, and relationship to you. This is separate from your resume but should be printed on the same paper, in the same font and style, and with the same headings or personal letterhead. You would not mail this to a potential employer unless they requested references.

Thank-You Letter: This should be tailored to the interview that you had with the hiring manager of your position. The letter should highlight your top qualification for the position of interest, but not a restatement of your resume.

Copy of Job Posting: Copy of the internship/job posting must be attached to your job package.

Resume Clinic: During our “Resume Clinic” you will have the opportunity to get feedback on your resume and cover letter from your peers. Remember that a resume is ALWAYS a work-in-progress and your cover letter should be tailored for the position that you are applying (this document is not a one size fits all). By the time you hand in your final package, I EXPECT your resume and cover letter to be completely free of typos (-10 points each) and grammatical errors (-5 points each), just as they must be when you send them to a prospective employer.

You have to write on you own. no copy. please very cafefully on grammar and formal.

If you need any information I will send to you after.

-quot-Justifying-Unethical-Conduct-quot-

“Justifying Unethical Conduct” Please respond to the following:

  • Unethical conduct is not necessarily illegal conduct; however, the difference between ethical and unethical conduct can be difficult to spot. Using the Internet, identify an example of when a company engaged in legal, but arguably unethical, conduct. Next, determine two (2) reasons why this conduct could be deemed unethical and why you believe the company failed to make the right decision. Lastly, speculate on the ramifications of the company’s arguably unethical conduct on its customer base. Justify your response.
