For this unit, you will discuss school issues that influence at-risk children and youth and examine school structures, programs, and services that are most effective for helping at-risk youth in the educational setting.

Describe several qualities that you feel make up an effective school environment. Be very detailed and specific. How do these qualities address the needs of at-risk youth? How might these qualities help the overall school structure and serve as a protective factor for at-risk children and youth even outside of the school environment? What kinds of policies and programs would help ensure that at-risk youth and/or children with special needs are successful in school? What can advocates do to ensure that these qualities, programs, and services are consistently implemented in school systems and that the schools adhere to legal and ethical guidelines?

Part II:

The juvenile justice system serves many needs, including, but not limited to, prevention, treatment, incarceration, probation, aftercare, and community integration. You should complete the assigned readings for the unit before the Seminar and come prepared to discuss the following topics:

• Describe the concept of an IEP and the process for establishing an IEP?
• Who would you involve on the IEP team and why would you include those people?
• What kids of information would be important to gather before establishing the IEP?
• What specific services, resources, programs, etc. would you want to advocate for when writing the IEP?
• How would you work with the IEP team to implement and evaluate the IEP?
• What are the legal responsibilities of the school and the teacher?

Topic 1.2 Assignment: Interview Preparation
For an assignment in Topic 3, you are required to present the results of an interview with a healthcare professional about your field of choice (Healthcare Management) . At a minimum, you need to ask this health care worker the following questions:

What do you think are the most difficult challenges in delivering healthcare in your job today?
What do you like about your job?
What do you wish you could change about your job or healthcare in general?
What advice would you give someone planning to enter the health field?
In the Topic 3 Assignment, you will be required to upload your typed notes from the interview. Or, if you are able to make a video of your interview using your phone, you may submit the video instead of your notes.

You are owner and executive level manager of a food and beverage shop which has eight locations. Each location is situated on very small parcels of land. This original strategy has contributed to somewhat lower operating expenses for the business and you view this as a competitive advantage.

One of your shop locations was recently visited by a government health inspector. Based on new local health codes, new laws have been issued requiring trash dumpsters be a minimum distance of 30 feet (9.144 meters) from the rear entrance of the building. New land-use laws require that all out buildings be at least 6 feet (1.8288 meters) from the property lines. The enclosure that houses the trash dumpster is 5 feet (1.524 meters) from the property lines, which is in violation of those laws. The government inspector has told your location manager that he would be willing to approve this if your business provides the food for his department’s holiday party. The location manager has conveyed this information to you.

The integrity of a business organization and its leaders is a universally accepted component of business ethics. In his article “Rethinking Integrity” Stratford Sherman outlines eight ways in which business leaders can manage a business organization with integrity.

Inferential Statistics Article Critique

Read the article “Differential effects of a body image exposure session on smoking urge between physically active and sedentary female smokers,”and identify the research questions and/or hypotheses as they are stated. Consider the following questions: What are the variables (sample sizes, population, treatments, etc.)? What are the inferential statistics used in this article? Were the proper steps of hypothesis testing followed?

Write a two- to three-page paper presenting the information listed below. Include a title page and reference page in APA style.
