Week-2-Ronnie-Crenshaw

THIS IS ONLY AN INTERPRETATION, FIVE SENTENCES AND A QUESTION IS ALL I NEED. TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS, HAVE REFERENCES! ASK PROBING QUESTIONS AND MAKE STATEMENTS BASED OFF WHAT THEY WROTE

Post a brief description of the criminal justice role you selected and describe two ways in which communication is used in that role. Then explain why communication is used in those ways, including any goals that are intended to be met by the communication. Finally, explain whether the communications you described are effective in the job specified or not. Be specific and provide examples to illustrate your point.

A burglary suppression officer is a normal patrol officer assigned to a precinct and specific areas where burglaries are high. In the role of a burglary suppression officer, communication is needed between the burglary suppression Sergeant, burglary detective, and the district attorney. Burglary suppression officers are usually in a team of seven or six including the Sergeant.

Emails and face to face communication are used to communicate effectively from supervisor to officer to district attorney. These ways of communication are used so the information is transferred effectively and so that the officer understands his instructions.

Virtually everything that happens in the discipline of criminal justice happens on paper first (Johnson, Rettig, Scott & Garrison, 2015). After roll call, where we receive our face to face instructions, the supervisor sends the officers and his superiors emails about what was discussed in roll call so there would be written documentation about what was said. Johnson et al (2015) explains that writing is the best way to learn and the only purpose writing can have is to express what you already know or think.

From my experience, these ways of communication are effective because the burglaries in the assigned areas decreased the following week and the reports sent to the district attorney were written as instructed.

In this forum I would like you to take the time to download the “ShopKick” application on your smart phone. Try it out while shopping this week.

Be sure to download the application early enough so that you will have time to experiment with it throughout the week.

Follow the link to the forum and discuss the following questions.

1. Give some examples of places you were marketed to?

2. What were some featured sale items?

3. How many “kicks” were offered to visit the store?

4. What were you enticed to do while in the store?

5. What did you end up looking at in more detail or might have purchased that was being promoted?

6. In your opinion will this type of technology increase the customer traffic and overall sales?

Now-consider-the-Monty-Hall-Problem-introduced-in-the-following-video-At-least-150-words

Conditional Probability In §4.4 we are introduced to the concept of conditional probability. The notation P(A | B) denotes the probability of event A occurring given that we know event B has occurred. Now consider the Monty Hall Problem introduced in the following video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lb-6rxZxx0 •After watching this video, we know that if we are given the option to switch doors that, probabilistically speaking, it is in our best interest to switch. •Explain why this is the case using your knowledge of conditional probability. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lb-6rxZxx0

Internet-Use-Policy

You have just been hired as the head IT manager for a company. Your boss, the CIO, wants your first task to be a newly drafted Internet use policy. The current policy is vague and no one adheres to it. The company’s employees frequently use Internet material for presentations.

Include the following elements in your recommended Internet Use Policy:

Define the employee’s responsibility on the Internet
Define non-business use of IT resources
Discuss copyrights and intellectual property
Discuss the employee training for the new policy.

Your well-written paper should be 2-3 pages in length and should reference 2-3 scholarly references (your textbook can count as one of these).

Memory-Management-and-Virtual-Memory-

Course Project Part 4—Memory Management and Virtual Memory

Continuing with the course project, this week, you will study how various OSs perform memory management and provide support for virtual memory.

Tasks

Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research memory management, virtual memory of OSs, deadlock modeling, and distributed OSs.

Based on your research, complete the following tasks:

  • For the scenario at Acme Toys Inc. described in Week 1, read the requirements again. In the Microsoft Word document from W3 Assignment 2, to your analysis of OSs (three OSs for workstations and servers), add to the discussion with regard to memory management, virtual memory, deadlock modeling, and distributed OSs. Support your analysis with reasons.
  • For each listed OS, discuss the requirements for size of virtual and physical memories.

Support your responses with examples.

Scenario:

Acme Toys, Inc. is a leading toy manufacturer. As part of its expansion plan, it purchased a new building for its headquarters, which will house all the departments of the company. Apart from the usual departments, such as marketing, sales (with telemarketing capability), accounting, and IT, the building will also house the R&D, manufacturing, and distribution departments.

The company wants to set up a network to enable employees to communicate and share resources. The company requires workstations and server computers. The servers should provide support for:

  • A multiuser environment
  • Multiple processors
  • Various types of applications
  • High security
  • High memory requirements

In addition, the network should be able to support high-level, multiuser applications that will run simultaneously. The profiles of employees range from a sales executive who is not computer savvy to IT professionals and people in the R&D department who are technology savvy. Due to the diverse user profiles, the company also needs to consider the ease of use of the OS.

The IT department is in the process of designing the processing requirements of computers. Although the entire company will be networked, a separate network is required for the R&D department because of security reasons. In addition, the manufacturing department plans to expand its network within the next six months by fifty percent.

As a member of the IT team, you need to recommend the best OSs for workstations and servers on the network. You need to consider the ease of use of various OSs based on user profiles. Your report must provide a rationale for the proposed OS and compatibility issues, if any, if you propose using multiple OSs.
