Evidence-Based Management

Evidence-Based Management Draft

You have identified a business health care issue and a clinical health care issue, researched the issues, and gained insight into them. It is now time to create a draft of your course project for review by your peers and instructor.

For this discussion, focus on one of your two issues. Based on sources of information you retrieved and your insight, how can the problem be resolved? What can be updated? What can be applied to improve process?

Here are some ideas to get your started:

  • Analyze the issue using the sources found.
  • Determine a resolution for the issue based on the research conducted.
  • Consider how your conclusions relate to the EbM model.

Prepare your paper as follows:

  • Include the information from the first three steps (that is, information from the assignments and discussions in Units 4–7). Make sure it is organized in a logical fashion.
  • Present your information as the readings and activities outlined for Step 4 of the EbM model. Per the model, presenting the recommendations and decisions is not usually included, but for the sake of this assignment, it should be included.

MKT Question

We have covered a lot of material this semester. As you reflect back, pick one item that clearly gained your interest. Post to the question and respond to two other post. This will be the last discussion question and is worth 20 points. This class had great participation in discussion questions.

Here are some topics I picked we learned about. They are not all. If you have a different one, you can use it.

  • Back pack simulation
  • Mock Interviews
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Holland Code/RIASE
  • 25 rules of outlook email etiquette
  • Teamwork/Team building exercises
  • Networking
  • The Science of Persuasion
  • Dealing with difficult employees
  • Do’s/Don’t of Resume Building
  • Features/Benefits/Advantages
  • How employees ruin a company
  • Employee Engagement
  • Telephone Interview Tips
  • Listening Skills

Here is mine: I really like the Mock Interview. It portrayed real life questions and answers as well as situations one can get in when interviewing. Having good interviewing skills takes practice, practice, practice. I thought the Interviewers/Interviewees did an excellent job. Being prepared for the Interview by research, rehearsal, and practice will allow one to have a great interview. no longer then half page.

Calculating Revenue

By the due date assigned, respond to the following in the Discussion Area below:

Before identifying costs in a new business, it is necessary to calculate revenue. All costs will be based on your anticipated revenue because costs are generated based on what it takes to produce the product for sale. This module you are going to think about your new business and determine what the first year in sales looks like.

  • Describe what product or service you will be selling.
  • How much will you charge for your product or service?
  • How many units of the product or service do you anticipate being able to sell over the first year?

This is a good time to dream, but also to be realistic. The beginning period in any company is challenging and realistic planning is crucial for success. Based on your estimates, build a table, in Microsoft Excel, showing the quantities sold of each item or service, the dollar amount charged for each, and the total anticipated revenue. Your table should reflect sales by the month and then an annual total. Include your table as an attachment to your initial discussion response.

Remember, the information you gather in this assignment will contribute to your final project due in Module 5.

Banning Sappho’s poetry

History
tells us that Sappho’s works were burned en masse in the fourth century
C.E. and later in the eleventh century C.E., eras in which her poems were
considered pornographic because they featured sexual relationships between
women. Pick one character or author from the list below and write one paragraph
telling what that figure would say about burning/banning Sappho’s poetry.
Remember, you are not giving your opinion. Rather, your job is to imagine the
opinion of the author or fictional character:

  • Homer
  • Odysseus
  • Penelope
  • Confucius
  • Sophocles
  • Creon
  • Haemon
  • Ismene
  • Antigone

Part
B
: What do
you think? (Yes, now it is time to give your views!). In two paragraphs, argue
that one, several, or all of Sappho’s poems should or should not be banned. Be
sure to explain your position in detail.

Select poems by Sappho: “An
Epithalamium,” “He is more than a Hero,” “To Any Army Wife, in Sardis,” “No
Word,” “Before They were Mothers,” “Cleis,” “Maidens Dancing In Moonlight,”

In this assignment, you’ll need to decide whether Patty Plaintiff has any legal claims arising from a series of unfortunate events. After reading the scenario, answer the questions that follow, making sure to fully explain the basis of your decision.
Patty Plaintiff is shopping at her favorite store, Cash Mart. She is looking for a new laptop, but she can’t find one she likes. Then, realizing that she is going to be late for an appointment, she attempts to leave the store, walking very fast. However, before she can leave, she is stopped by a security guard who accuses her of shoplifting. Patty, who has taken nothing, denies any wrongdoing. The officer insists and takes Patty to a small room in the back of the store. The guard tells Patty that if she attempts to leave the room she will be arrested and sent to jail. At this point, the guard leaves the room. Patty is scared and waits in the room for over an hour until the manager comes in and apologizes and tells Patty that she is free to go.

About this same time, Gerry Golfer is hitting golf balls in his backyard. Gerry decides to break out his new driver and hits a golf ball out of his backyard into the Cash Mart parking lot. The golf ball hits Patty Plaintiff on the head and knocks her unconscious just as she is leaving the store.

Five days later, after recovering from her injuries, Patty returns to work at Acme Corporation. Unfortunately, she used her company email to send her mom a personal email about her injury despite being aware that Acme’s company policy prohibits use of company email for personal communication. Patty’s supervisor, Barry Bossley, discovers Patty’s violation and Patty is reprimanded. When Patty goes home she uses her personal computer to post disparaging comments about her boss and Acme Corporation on social media. The next day Patty is fired from her job.

In 4-6 pages, answer the following question: What types of legal claims could Patty make against Cash Mart, Gerry, and Acme Corporation? Consider the following:

What are the possible tort claims that Patty can make against Cash Mart? Discuss the elements of the claim and how those elements relate to the facts in the scenario.

Was Gerry negligent when he hit the golf ball that injured Patty? Discuss the elements of negligence and use facts from the scenario to support your decision.

Does Patty have a right to privacy when using Acme Corporation’s email system? Discuss the elements of the claim and how those elements relate to the facts in the scenario.

2. “Wall Street”ws giving out these record bonuses as “Main Street”was still on the verge of calapse!

3. Tax-Payers’ Money: As a result of the “bailout” wall street had access to our money to be used without adequate constraints, restrictions, or penalties.

4. According to the media, we are out of the recession, consumer confidence is up, and investors are starting to see acceptable returns on their investments……thus, in part, providing impetus for the awarding of these exorbitant bonuses.
