7. Conclusion

This research is over The nurses lived in experience of medication administration using scanning EMR systems and the effects of medication errors. I am attaching the references used in the research. Also in this presentation it will have to discuss how the references were found. From the professor “For your final submission, please make sure to include more than this submission with the identified themes. You also need to include an introduction, discuss your search strategy to explain how you found the articles, etc.” The included rubric includes 14 criteria but I only have to meet the 7 listed above.

Week 4 – Assignment Knowledge Management

Knowledge Management

In the health care field the acquisition of knowledge is important to improve patient care. The process of identifying, managing, and sharing this information is called knowledge management. For this assignment, read the Health Informatics: A Systems Perspective, Chapter 8 Case Study on pages 172-174, and create a strategy to leverage the knowledge base of the practice against the value of knowledge within the developing accountable care organization (ACO), Health Information Exchange (HIE), and Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO). In your paper:

  • Differentiate between the role of an HIE and a RHIO.
  • What are the implications of collaborating with an HIE and RHIO?
  • Create a policy on who can access knowledge generated by the practice and how would it be used.
  • Assess each of the five quality domains specified by the ACO mandate, and justify their inclusion or exclusion. What are the implications of each on the structure of the clinical process and on the information system that supports the process?
  • Compare and contrast the differences between explicit, expressed, implicit, latent and tacit knowledge. What is the importance of each one?
  • Distinguish between the two organizations in your response.

Your Paper:

  • Must be a minimum of two to three, double-spaced pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages, and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  • Include a title page with the following:
    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  • Begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  • Address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  • Use at least three scholarly sources (excluding the textbook), two of which are from the Ashford University Library.
  • All sources should be listed in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  • Include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Student portfolios are a collection of work from a student that is
gathered to show how they have been doing within a period of time. It is
beneficial to both the student and the teacher because the student can
reflect on previous work and compare to their current work to show what
they have and have not learned in a specific area of knowledge. It also
is beneficial to the teacher because he/she can see what they need to
help a student with due to the results of the students portfolio. In the
article, they described a student portfolio to an artists portfolio to
help put it in perspective. When you think of an artists portfolio, you
think of the work that is collected that they put in chronological order
to show strengths and weaknesses. Portfolios encourage teachers and
schools to focus on important student outcomes, provide parents and the
community with credible evidence of student achievement, and inform
policy and practice at every level of the educational system. These
portfolios could compare to what teachers do now which is having
students take a “pre test” and a “post test.” those tests just show a
score on a test from where the student stood before class started, and a
score on where you ended in class to see how much a student increased.
With the portfolios, it shows exactly what was done and how the
student’s education level increased within a class.

The website I found useful is https://threering.com/

Three ring is useful because students can create and upload content
from their own devices and tag, search and share their portfolios. it is
teacher-created class accounts. In other words, teachers initiate the
use of Three Ring in the classroom by creating classrooms within the
teacher account and adding students to each class. Students can then
access their teacher-monitored account with a username and password
provided. Whether from an iOS or Android device or from a desktop or
laptop computer, content can be added by the teacher or student and
commented on by both. Three Ring even allows parents to view their
students’ accounts once linked by the teacher.

Challenges to Change: Resistance and Resilience

On Feb. 1, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia flew over a calm Texas sky in the early morning hours in preparation for its landing at the Kennedy Space in Florida. Tragically, the space shuttle split apart on reentry, costing the lives of all seven astronauts aboard. A 2-year study by the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB) revealed that NASA had failed to address organizational cultural issues that inevitably led them to ignore warning signs from safety engineers. Put simply, NASA employees exhibited resistance to change and leadership and had not implemented effective strategies for overcoming it.

Resistance and resilience are important concepts in change management. Resilience allows a system to retain its structure and function in the face of external and internal changes and challenges. For the astronauts aboard the shuttle Columbia, the failure of NASA to be resilient and overcome resistance to change had fatal consequences. In most public and nonprofit organizations, although the consequences might not be as dire, leaders must be effective in implementing organizational change and overcoming resistance or risk harming the public good they serve as their mission.

For this Discussion, read this week’s Learning Resources, including Howell (2013) on the Columbia disaster. If necessary, research other online articles related to the Columbia disaster in order to answer the Discussion.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 3 an explanation of how NASA’s failure to respond to change, such as internal operating procedures, lead to the Columbia disaster. In your explanation, describe how resistance to change affected the outcome. Then, using the example of your own or another organization with which you are familiar, explain one strategy for overcoming resistance to change and building in resilience, and explain why you chose this strategy.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources and other current literature in the Walden Library.

Health policy

Go to the Harvard Kennedy School and purchase the case study – Expanding Health Insurance to Millions: Learning from the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment ($3.95): https://case.hks.harvard.edu/expanding-health-insu…

Write a memo to the governor providing policy advice on their next steps based on your critical analysis of the information provided in the case as well as your knowledge of the health care system. Your memo should provide your position on the issue – after the experiment, should the State of Oregon expand their health insurance program? Your analysis should be supported by one or more policy analysis criteria – ethical, economical, feasibility etc. Identify at least 2 challenges or issues raised by the experiment and provide policy solutions to address them in support of the policy to expand health insurance coverage OR use these challenges to support your position against the policy to expand health insurance coverage in Oregon. You may need to do some research on your own to find evidence to support your position (Peer reviewed research literature and other resources). Please see grading rubric for assignment on Canvas. Remember this assignment is considered the examination for this course. Good luck
