Control Implementation and Final Draft

Control Implementation

Controlling is the final function of management. Its purpose is to create ways to monitor and track the progress of goals. This means that the activities in controlling have a very close relationship to the decisions made in planning. For this course project assignment, you will be using a template to track and measure the goals you created in the planning portion of the course project.

In order to complete this assignment, you will need to revise the two SMART goals you created previously, and then design control methods for them.

Download the control template in the resources section below and address the following:

  • Improve and revise the goals you created previously. (Each page template will be used to evaluate one of your SMART goals.)
  • Fill out the chart, giving basic information about each goal.
  • Explain the system that you will create to track each goal.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of your obligation to complete this goal with the given time frame.
  • Develop and identify adjustments that can be made if the business is falling behind in achieving this SMART goal.
  • An example has been provided below the template. It will provide some guidance on how the final product should look.

Finalizing Your Course Project

In addition to completing this control implementation assignment, you will also submit each previous part of your course project. The previous submissions should be revised based on the feedback you received over the course.

Gerrymandering, history homework help

In 1812, Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry had passed into law newly drawn Congressional districts to favor his party (the Democratic-Republican Party). Critics charged that the one particular district looked like a salamander leading the Boston Gazette was first to use the word “Gerry-mander,” which was a combination of the Governor’s last name and the amphibian creature. Ever since, the drawing of congressional and state legislative districts has been an important tool used by both political parties.

Consistent with the 14th Amendment, every ten years after the decennial census (decennial is a fancy word meaning every ten years), the state legislatures redraw both state legislative and congressional districts. Just as Governor Gerry and the Democratic-Republicans did in 1812, today, both Democratic and Republican partisans use reapportionment (the process of drawing new districts) to create state legislative and congressional districts to the advantage of their respective parties.

First, go to the website: www.ReDistrictingGame.org

Click the Link “Play the Game” to play “The ReDistricting Game.” Complete the various district drawing challenges in the game! CAUTION: this game is very addicting!

After playing the game, make a discussion post addressing the following:

  • What was your experience with the Gerrymandering game? Did anything surprise you?
  • Is it possible to create a “neutral,” “fair,” or “equal” system for drawing legislative districts? What would be “fair”? What would be or “equal”? What would be “neutral”? How would “neutral,” “fair,” or “equal” be objectively defined and measured?
  • Could Gerrymandering actually be a good thing?

At least 150 words and no plagiarizing.

Audit Report Modifications

The final paper will be based on Appendix 6C Illustrative Audit Case: Keystone Computers at pages 237-244 in your text. Write, in outline format but in complete sentences, a 6 to 10 page audit plan. It is recommended that you look at Figure 18.8 on page 708, which shows the control objectives related to accounts receivable. (Both Appendix/Figure are attached)

In your audit plan cover the steps necessary to determine if you should select the client, the internal control procedures which need to be reviewed, the substantive tests [using accounts receivable a guide], and the final reporting steps. Based on the actual facts in the case determine the emphasis you want to place on various accounts. Also reflect back over your entire accounting program and think about how the accounts are interrelated. For example, when allowance for doubtful accounts is credited the offset is to bad debt expense. Therefore one of the steps should be to trace the debit side of the entry to the balance for bad debt expense.

Make your comments as specific as possible. Rather than say look for unusual entries, say look for entries from unusual sources and rounded amounts with focus on those near an accounting cut off. Use precise language. Rather than saying you “vouched accounts payable,” say that you looked at the item to determine that it was a bona fide business expense. Remember to focus on the key audit objectives and support needed after applying the audit risk model.

Remember, the purpose of the Final Paper is for you to culminate the learning achieved in the course by describing your understanding and application of knowledge in the field of accounting.

The Final Paper should focus on real life, real time application of topics covered in this course; the uses you have seen and the uses you can envision. The paper must be submitted to your instructor no later than the last day of class. Earlier submittal is appreciated.

Comprehensive Lesson Plan

Paper is done just need some fixing up

Comprehensive Lesson Plan

You will create a comprehensive lesson plan to teach a fundamental skill for an early childhood physical education class (Pre-K to 3rd grade) by revising and adding to the plan you created in Week Two. Start by reviewing and assessing that the skill(s) in your lesson plan are developmentally appropriate by visiting SHAPE America (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. page.

Your lesson plan should include the following components (note that Sections 1 and 2 are the same as the Week Two lesson plan; just be sure to include revisions and changes).

  1. Title Page
  2. Section 1: Lesson Information
  3. Section 2: Lesson Introduction
    • Provide a brief description of the lesson
    • Create a student learning objective (e.g. “As result of this lesson, students will be able to demonstrate _________”)
    • Describe your system for classroom management and student grouping (e.g. class rules, consequences, rewards, and organization of the class during the activity)
    • Describe the equipment needed and the environment (e.g. classroom, gym, outdoors, etc.)
  4. Section 3: Lesson Procedure

Create a script for what the teacher would say while teaching the lesson and describe the following:

    • Introducing the lesson
    • Safety concerns, rules, and protocols to follow during the lesson
    • Teaching the skill and the method of assessment (refer to the lesson objective; how will you assess mastery of this skill?)
  5. Section 4: Home-School Connection

Create a flyer or email that you would use to communicate to parents. It should explain at least one activity that the family could do at home that would reinforce the skill taught in the lesson.

  6. Section 5: Lesson Accommodations

Identify modifications and adaptations for each of the following scenarios:

    • Inclusion of a child with a physical disability (e.g. a child who uses a wheelchair)
    • The event of inclement weather or an altered schedule that forces you to change your location. Choose a different location to discuss (e.g. a smaller classroom as opposed to a gym)
    • Several children from a different grade are temporarily joining this class for this particular lesson
  7. Reference page

Include five to seven outside resources.

Your title page, lesson plan, and reference page should be in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. The lesson plan must be five to six pages in length, in addition to the title and reference pages.

Distractors in our Environment

Distractors in our Environment.

Distractions are everywhere. They may include cellphones, the alarms sounding for multiple different reasons, overhead paging, monitors beeping, and staff interrupting our thoughts. Give an example of an ethical or legal issue that may arise if a patient has a poor outcome or sentinel event because of a distraction such as alarm fatigue. What does evidence reveal about alarm fatigue and distraction when it comes to patient safety?

RPW300 writing, Technical Communication Today

In Chapter 1 of Technical Communication Today, we are immediately struck with the importance of developing a workplace writing process. The textbook outlines 5 stages (Planning and Researching, Organizing and Drafting, Improving Style, Designing, and Revising and Editing). “While writing a document or presentation,” the book states, “you will need to move back and forth among these stages” (3). This activity is designed to have you reflect on your own writing process. Doing so, will allow you to better understand the ways in which you approach a writing task and help you consider, with strategies from the textbook, how you might refine your process for the workplace.

First, take a few moments to reflect on your own writing processes. Consider the following questions to help jump start your thinking:

  1. Where do you write (coffee shop, office, library, etc.)?
  2. What conditions do you prefer (quiet, listening to music, TV in background, etc.)?
  3. What do you write with (computer/laptop, tablet, paper/pen, quill/parchment, etc.)?
  4. What invention (brainstorming) activities do you use (free write, mind map, list, outline, etc.)?

Then, reflect on the ways you compose documents. Do you start with the intro and work all the way through to the end, rewriting and revising when complete in a linear fashion? Or perhaps, you bounce around writing, (re)organizing, and editing along the way, in a more recursive style.

After you have finished reading Chapter 1 and reflecting on your own writing process: (1) create an image (using MS Word, PowerPoint, crayons/markers, or by some other method/material with which you feel comfortable) that best illustrates your writing process, and (2) compose a 100- to 200-word document that explains your image, discusses your writing process reflection, and makes connections to Chapter 1 (pull in quotes and/or examples when appropriate). In this document, also consider how your current writing process might shift or evolve as you develop workplace writing processes. Upload your image as a PDF or JPG and your document as a PDF by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017
