The rise of Japan

The rise of Japan, and also new developments in Korea and Vietnam, raise a crucial question about defining civilization. All these societies borrowed extensively from China. None, however, became Chinese. Japan, particularly, followed its own path in terms of its feudal development. Did Japan in turn share enough with China to allow the definition of a common origin? This question of defining civilization in terms of coherence applies to a number of regions, particularly when unusual levels of contact and imitation are involved. Some contend that there continue to be shared impulses between China and Japan which strongly stem from Confucianism. Is there an underlying East Asian civilization despite the incredible differences between the regional members? The challenge is to determine what definitions best fit the facts.

Research Essay Assignment

According to the Student Learning Outcomes for this course, students are required to demonstrate the ability to produce an MLA Style research project or portfolio. For this class, students are required to produce an 5 – 7 page Literary Research Essay, utilizing at least 4 – 5 sources found in the MLA International Bibliography, which deals with one of the works covered in the course. (The course textbook, World Literature, Parts 1, 2, and 3, may be used as a primary source in addition to the required 4 – 5 secondary sources.)

1. Instructions: Analyze and interpret a thought-provoking theme, character, passage, or concept found in the literary piece that you have selected to research. Develop an argument/thesis. Be specific. Do not simply summarize or restate ideas covered in critical essays, discussions, or otherwise found elsewhere. Rather, use a unique framework for developing your own argument. Support your argument with relevant textual evidence (in the form of short quotes) from the essay.

2. Mandatory requirements: The Research Essay must have a clear thesis statement in its initial paragraph. This thesis statement should express an arguable proposition. Weak: “Oedipus Rex is a literary work filled with irony.” Yes, indeed. However, there is not much debate possible here. It states the obvious in a vague fashion. This is not a passable thesis statement. Strong: “Sophocles uses irony in Oedipus Rex to serve the larger message of the play: Fate is inescapable, and there is ultimately no free will.” This is a much more substantial purpose / thesis statement. There is original analysis present here, with a clearly stated thesis that makes the reader wonder how this stance will be proven.

3. Sources: At least 4 – 5 sources must be utilized to support the unique thesis of each Research Essay. These sources must come from peer-reviewed journal articles found in the MLA International Bibliography (literature and language). Students should access the MLA International Bibliography through the EGSC Library web page. (From the “ega.edu Homepage,” select the “Academics” tab and “Library.” From the Library page, use the “GALILEO” box in the center of the page, select “Browse Databases by Category” and scroll down to “Literature, Language, and Literary Criticism.” From here, select “Literature and Literary Criticism.” From the list that follows, select “MLA International Bibliography (literature and language).” This last choice will land on a search tool known as “EBSCO Host,” which is the tool that will search the MLA Bibliography for articles to be used as sources for your research essay. Be sure to check the box for “Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals” and “Linked Full Text.” Selecting “Find any of my search terms” will yield the most results. You may want to experiment with the other “Search Modes” to determine which one will yield the best results for your particular search.

family therapy theories and approaches, psychology,

need one one well/ nice paragraph and one respond to classmate

1.What systems approach or part of a systems approach do you think you might

want to employ in doing family treatment?

I attached rational emotive behavioral therapy as the one is good for family.

Right way you think so.

+ 2. one respond to classmate (the respond should be nice) find something you like there and comment, add some more info ask question) but stay positive.

I find Multi-generational Family Therapy most interesting since it seems true to me that the family patterns tend to repeat through generations. I also like the idea of Bowen’s genogram since it would help clinicians learn the client’s history which may lead us to find somethings that triggered their current family structure or their belief/expectation in a family. However, this approach seems to take a long time and the process seems complex in many situations. For instance, I would think it would not be as effective if the clients were adopted and therefore, had no information of their biological parent. A history of their foster parents may be helpful, but the history of mental illness or personalities from their previous generation may not define the client as well as the history of foster parents since such conditions are highly related to a genetic reason. Neukrug’s book described Bowen’s explanation in couples, and how they chose each other because they are the same level of psychological health. If that is true, the clients can somewhat understand each other and work things out by understanding the difference in each other. I also like the idea of not involving their children in the session since they are not the cause of the family issue and they cannot fix anything by attending the therapy where parents may argue and express frustration.

St. Anthony Medical Center’s leadership team is interested in your analysis, plan, action steps, and recommendations. They have scheduled five minutes for your presentation on the C-Suite calendar.

The marketing director has suggested that you include an appendix slide to your presentation that tells how you will implement the action steps, and who will be involved in execution of the proposed plan. By providing the suggested project management timeline, you will demonstrate leadership and position yourself as an obvious choice for involvement in the new initiative. to make connections between your everyday life and the broad sociocultural structures within which you live.

The purpose of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to apply the sociological

imagination to your everyday life: To make connections between your everyday life and the

broad sociocultural structures within which you live. In this assignment, you will reference

appropriate Terminal Course Objectives (TCOs) that relate to your socioautobiography. You

can find the TCOs in this course listed in the Syllabus and in the weekly objectives. This

assignment can be related to any and all of the TCOs.

The socioautobiography is a reflective paper that allows you the opportunity to explore the

interconnections between biography (a slice of your life), the social structure, and culture.

In preparation for this paper, please read this document, Socioautobiography Assignment

Guideline. At the end of the paragraph where a concept is used, indicate which TCOs your

sociological concept refers. This should be done using parenthetical citation. An example of

how to do this is provided below.

The final paper will be due at the end of Week 5. It should be three-to-four pages in length

and may be in any format you choose. Feel free to get creative. You may choose to do a

standard APA style paper or you can do your socioautobiography as a news story, movie

review of your life, letter home to family, obituary, poem, lyrics, dialogue, old time radio

program, or Shakespearean play, whatever format you choose. Be sure to identify your

format, double-space your paper, and correctly use a minimum of six sociological concepts

covered in the weekly readings or lecture.

Your six concepts should be in boldface and

underlined

. Consider the following example.

As I think about my experience growing up, I realized that I was at an advantage compared

with some of the other students. I came from a

middle-class family

. In my family

gender

didn’t matter, boys and girls were raised with the same expectation that they would be

going off to college right after high school. As such, writing and speaking properly was

considered a high priority. (TCO 3 and TCO 6).

Note how, in this mini-socioautobiography, there are references to social class and gender.

Below are guidelines to follow as you work on your socioautobiography assignment.

Papers should contain 3-to 4-pages of text, double-spaced (this does not include the

title page).

Refer to and properly use at least six sociological concepts covered in the lectures or

textbook reading.

Underline and boldface these concepts.

Connect your concepts to the TCOs. Indicate the TCOs covered in parentheses, as

demonstrated in the assignment instructions.

Cite the textbook and/or lecture for the concepts and the Syllabus or course

objectives for the TCOs in addition to any outside source material used both in body

and on your reference page.

You might find the following excerpt on a socioautobiography helpful as you are thinking

about what a socioautobiography is. It is taken directly from: Kanagy, C. L., & Kraybill, D.

B., (1999). The Riddles of Human Society. Thousand Oaks, CA: Pine Forge Press. (pp. 287–

289).

Socioautobiography

“The purpose of the socioautobiography is to use the insights from sociology to better

understand your own story; it is a way of using the concepts of sociology to explore our

personal riddle. But the socioautobiography is not a diary or a point-by-point account of

your life since infancy. It is rather a reflective exercise in which you step outside of yourself

and employ sociological concepts to interpret your experiences . . . it uses the concepts of

the discipline to interpret our life in its social context.” (p. 287)

“The socioautobiography follows the tradition of C. Wright Mills, a sociologist who

emphasized the influence of society on the individual. He argued that personal troubles are

typically rooted in larger social forces—that is public issues.” (p. 287)

The socioautobiography invites you to consider, in the tradition of C. Wright Mills, how social

influences have shaped you. As you contemplate your socioautobiography, you might ask,

what were the social forces that constructed the riddle of my life? How did I negotiate the

crisscrossing pressures of autonomy and conformity? The connection between the micro and

macro realms is an important area to address in your socioautobiography.

3

Socioautobiography Assignment Guidelines

The socioautobiography also gives you the opportunity to place your life under the

sociological microscope and apply the skills of sociological analysis. Try to understand who

you are in your social context using a sociological perspective. As you write your story, use

sociological concepts—such as social class, reference group, conformity, norm, role,

deviance, subculture, and any others that are helpful—to interpret your life experiences.

You may want to focus on several events, special moments, or important relationships in

your life that have impacted you in significant ways. Recall key themes, events, or

circumstances that have contributed to the construction of your identity. You may want to

discuss the importance of some of the following influences: significant others, family

structure, residence (urban, suburban, rural), ethnicity, religion, social status, group

memberships, economic status, leisure, work, death, and crisis. Regardless of which themes

you discuss, be sure to interpret them with some of the sociological concepts that have

been introduced throughout the book.

Questions like the following may be appropriate: How have social forces—groups, larger

social trends, and cultural values—molded my behavior and world view? In what sense am I

both a produce and producers of culture? How has my family background expanded or

restricted my opportunities and life chances? How might I be different had I been born into

another culture? What have been the most influential social forces in my life?

In crafting a socioautobiography, we have the opportunity to reflect on the construction of

our self-identity. Only as we begin to understand how we have been socially created can we

become fully empowered to act. Many of us go through life repeating patterns given to us

by the faces in our mirror without realizing that we have the power to change those

patterns in our own lives. As we begin to understand how we have been created, we have

greater freedom to control how we shape and produce the culture around us. (pp. 288-289)

You are an economist for the Vanda-Laye Corporation, which produces and distributes outdoor cooking supplies. The company has come under new ownership and management and will be undergoing changes in its product lines and operating structure. As an economist, your responsibilities include examining the market factors that affect success or failure of a product, including the supply and demand for the product, market conditions, and the behavior of competitors with similar products.

The new owners are evaluating the operating structure, and you have two possible alternatives. One alternative requires a high level of investment in fixed costs compared to the other alternative. Jorge, your supervisor, has assigned you the task of evaluating the two alternatives.

Assume that the company has no debt. Regardless of the alternative selected, market conditions will require the selling price of the product to be $3.45 per unit. The details for each alternative are given in the table.

Prepare a report to guide management through the recommendation of an optimal software systems acquisition strategy , homework help

Direction:

Prepare a report to guide management through the recommendation of an optimal software systems acquisition strategy for the consulting assignment described in the Business Case MCMDUView in a new window. Once again, this report should be specific to the client organization. As in the previous report detailed above, identify and describe each of the two best alternatives for the software source for the client organization and then provide a strong justification on why you are recommending consideration of the two software sources (specifically, how do they “fit” the client organization and how are they more suitable than the other software sources identified and described in Chapter 2) as the best alternatives.

* Note: A Turnitin analysis (see http://turnitin.com/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for information on this product) will be automatically applied to your assignment submission to indicate the potential degree of “originality,” which means that you have interpreted and are discussing your research results “in your own words” (paraphrasing) or are using proper APA citation methods to include the words of others. A Turnitin analysis percentage of 15% or higher will result in your receiving a zero on this assignment unless a review indicates that all sources have been correctly cited in APA format: be aware that all similar assignments from prior semesters in this course are included in Turnitin analyses of originality.

Ps.

The Ch2 in this textbook was talking about six different sources of software(IT services firms, cloud computing, packaged software providers, open source ERP Providers, In-house), and the question is talking about choosing 2 of the sources you think it fit for this company (in the case) so that they can meet the six requirements they want to implement. And you should demonstrate why you think that these two sources were fit for this company and why other four were not.( For example , we choose commercial software need to make a clear comparison, the comparison criteria are as follows: CostfunctionSupplier supportSupplier viabilityFlexibility of the softwareResponse timeDocumentationInstallation simplicity…..whatever you think is correct.)Go through the textbook and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these 6 sources and also combine the situation of the company and the budget ($150,000 )they gave to complete the work.

PLZZZZZZZZZZ make sure that you read carefully through the direction and the description i wrote. You dont need to write like a long paper, 2-3 pages would be fine, plus 4-5 reference. And also ORIGINAL only, ill check on turnitin after your work delivery. Ill attach the Ch2 of the textbook and the case below. Thank you for your helping.
