Language Development Interview, English homework help

Much of the knowledge we gain comes from our learning and personal

experiences. For this assignment, you will spend time talking with an

experienced preschool teacher or, if you are currently a preschool

teacher, you can answer the questions yourself. Your assignment is to

select five questions regarding the support of language acquisition and

language developmental stages in the classroom. Please review these possible questions that could guide your interview or you can create your own questions.

For this project, choose one of the following methods of completion:

Option 1

  1. Identify five questions that you could ask someone with
preschool experience about how they support language acquisition for the
stages of development in the classroom. Document the interview. You
can record the interview (with permission) or you can write your
    questions and answers.
  2. Analyze the provided answers using your knowledge gained, the
textbook, and at least one other resource to substantiate or refute
their answers. You can provide elaboration for or against their
responses further strengthening your own understanding.
  3. Summarize and explain three ways you will meet the needs of
children in this stage to support their language development using the
    provided answers and your knowledge.

Option 2

  1. Identify five questions that you may be asked in a future
interview regarding how you will support language acquisition for the
stages of development in your future professional role. Document the
interview. You can record a mock interview or you can write your
    questions/answers.
  2. Analyze your own answers using your knowledge gained and
information from the textbook and at least one other resource to
    substantiate your writing.
  3. Summarize and explain three ways you will meet the needs of
children in a developmental stage of your choice to support their
language development using your knowledge of language acquisition.

The interview can be submitted as a video, an audio recording, or a

Microsoft Word document (which would be two to three pages in length).

Product or Service for Marketing Plan

MKT 301
Marketing Plan: Product Description Guidelines and Rubric
As the owner or marketing director for your business, you will decide what features your product or
service should have in order to be competitive. Then, determine what value each of those features
provides to your customers. This value is the benefit associated with the feature.
This section of the Marketing Plan has TWO parts, both of which are required.
Part One – Product Description
Describe the product or service in detail. This is NOT a sales pitch. Do not use this section to promote or
advertise the product; this is a factual and objective description of the product. The style of this
assignment is similar to an instruction manual; in other words, “just the facts.” For the Product
Description, include the following:
 Name of the product or service
 What it does
 How it works
 What it looks like
 Key design elements
 What makes it special or unique
Note: For services, adapt the above list to fit an intangible product. The concentration will be on what
services you provide for your customers.
The benchmark for determining if the Product Description is done correctly is to have another individual
read it, and then describe the product verbally. They should be able to accurately describe your product.
The Product Description portion of this assignment must be 2-3 pages in length in APA format.

Topic- Mobile Pet Grooming Service

Part Two – Features and Benefits
For this part of the Product Description, identify the Features and Benefits of the product or service. This
will be done in a table, listing no less than five features of the product or service, with at least TWO
customer benefits for EACH of the features.
View the Marketing Plan: Product Description Example to view a sample of this assignment and to get an
understanding of what your Features and Benefits table should look like.
Include the Features and Benefits table in the same document as the Product Description. For this part of
the assignment, correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation are required.
Submit the Marketing Plan: Product Description to the Assignment box no later than Sunday 11:59 PM
EST/EDT of Module 2. (This Assignment box maybe linked to Turnitin.)

Instructions for completing your exam Choose FIVE AND ONLY FIVE of the terms below on the midterm to write about.

Instructions for completing your exam:

The following terms are taken from a combination of the lecture notes, lectures, and assigned reading.Choose FIVE AND ONLY FIVE of the terms below on the midterm to write about. There is NO extra credit for writing on more than five.A top scoring exam will consist of five well-written, thorough, lengthy responses.

You must provide factual information relating to the person, event, or movement, etc. I am looking for enough detail and enough specificity so it is clear you have a solid grasp of the subject matter. Many students find it helpful to run through the ‘who,’ what’ ‘when,’ ‘where,’ why,’ ‘how,’ etc. prompts while writing. Remember, I do NOT expect you to know dates, unless it is helpful to you to do so, but beyond that I do expect a lot of detail and specificity in your responses. Take your discussion/analysis as far as it can go; define things, explain things, integrate other relevant topics.

In class we used the example of Martin Luther. This is certainly not the only way to approach it, nor is it necessarily an all-inclusive answer, rather it is meant to illustrate my general expectations:

Martin Luther was raised in a strict Catholic family in Germany. In his early adult years, he became a monk in hopes of one day becoming a priest. As time went on Luther, became more disturbed with what he believed to be blatant errors, abuse, and overreaching on the part of the priests, bishops, all the way up the chain of authority in the Catholic establishment. To Luther, neither the Bible, nor any other authority vested the clergy in the Roman Catholic Church with the power and the divide between themselves and the masses they claimed. Luther also called attention to indulgences and cancellations of punishments. Indulgences were payments of certain amounts of money straight to the Catholic Church in exchange for a decrease or a flat out erasure of one’s sin. A cancellation was a higher payment up front which served to cancel the person’s sin debt, so to speak, free and clear.

In 1517, Luther nailed what came to be known as the “95 Theses” to the Wittenberg Castle Church door in Germany. The “95 Theses” were a list of questions for debate that Luther posed to the Catholic Church. The importance of Luther’s nailing the “95 Theses” was that it touched off the Protestant Reformation. Luther stood up to the Catholic establishment at a time when that Church’s authority was rarely if ever questioned, its pronouncements were the final word. People did not question, they did not interpret, and they did not analyze. Those skills were seen as solely reserved for higher church authority. Pope Leo X excommunicated Luther from the Catholic Church in 1520 (in other words, severed his association and prohibited him from ever being part of it again).

The Catholic Church deemed Luther a “protestant.” Soon after, Europe became divided along confessional and territorial lines. The religious turmoil of the period led to warfare within most states and between many.

Remember, nothing occurs in isolation or in a vacuum. Tell me in detail what the part of the world was like at the time the term you are writing about existed. Here’s a hint: when you are studying, read a couple of paragraphs before and a couple of paragraphs after the term in the textbook and in the notes you hopefully took during class.Integrate this information in your response to provide political, economic, and social context.

Finally, tell me why each term was significant or important. Think of it this way; “why do we care?” “why did we study this person, event, movement, etc.” Did they start a trend or a backlash to a movement? How would the world be different if this person did not exist, if this movement did not occur, etc. What did this person, movement, or event contribute to history or to our understanding of how the world works? Keep in mind, there can be more than one significance. As long as your answer is reasonable, you will get points.Do NOT simply say, for example, “ Luther was important because he impacted history.” While this is a true statement I expect more than that for a quality answer.

Please use complete sentences.

This week we have been looking at Urban Drama in Film and Theater, its style, way of presentation, the people, the characters, and situations that fill up the pages of Urban Drama playwrights and screenwriters who seek to engage their audiences in very real and provocative ways. These movies and plays can be intense and searing at times with their topics and issues related to so called “street life” or stories that reflect the everyday struggles of so many that live in highly urbanized areas dealing with poverty, crime, family, drug abuse, gangs, race, and social and economic immobility, assimilation, gentrification and appropriation.

It is interesting to note that the style of these plays are not always supposed to be realistic. In fact many playwrights will create stories that are slightly more melodramatic or having more melodramatic characters in some situations to make their social commentary have more impact and perhaps more entertainment in the storytelling. Stephen Adly-Guirgis is one of these playwrights who tends to tell his stories in a melodramatic fashion or style. The Last days of Judas Iscariot, Jesus Hopped the A-train, In Arabia We’d All Be Kings, Mother F@$%*& With A Hat all have melodramatic characters and more theatrical elements that help to lift the drama in a potentially provocative and entertaining way. The language and often course vernacular of the people and characters that populate his plays is very important to him as way to convey aspects of behavior, culture, decorum and a certain point of view about the society around him.

Here are two clips from a fairly recent production of his play: Our Lady of 121st Street.

WARNING: There is a lot of course language used in the dialogue within this clip which is the first scene from the play.

One could make the argument that Urban Drama is a melding of particular aspects of so many of the other genres of Theatre and Film that we have looked at so far this semester, African American Theatre, Latino Theatre, Asian and LGBT Theatre. There are so many common themes that cross over these genres. Urban Drama will often purposely blend the characters and cultures to look more at the humanity of particular group of people rather than the specific cultural or ethnic background being the underlying through line. These plays tend to have a “melting pot” kind of casting that adds to the language, the conflicts and social angst in these stories.

For your discussion this week:

Reflecting on your studies this week including your own research and conclusions to what Urban Drama in Theatre and Film is:

What is your opinion of this genre of Film and Theatre?

What do you believe are some of the major themes or issues that this genre deals with?

Would you ever go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street? Why or why not?

Would you seek out another Urban Drama film in the future. Why or why not?

Your post should be at least 150 words with a response to two other posts with 150 words.

Also respond to 2 answers:

First answers:

What is your opinion of this genre of Film and Theatre?

  • I think Urban Drama depicts common issues society is constantly facing. It’s informative, eye-opening, and relatable because it focuses more on realistic life situations. It shows the harsh reality, and how we as an audience can be more aware about our actions and how it affects others. It is an experience in which we are put into the character’s shoes, and we feel as if we were facing those problems.

What do you believe are some of the major themes or issues that this genre deals with?

  • I think some of the major themes or issues Urban Drama films deal with are racism, poverty, and crime. These are issues that society will always be facing, hence I think that’s why many Urban films focus on these issues for the most part. These every day struggles is what makes this genre so relatable.

Would you ever go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street? Why or why not?

  • I think I would go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street, because I like trying to open myself up to new experiences and try to learn something new from it. The way they speak and move seems like they’ve gone through some hardships, and I’m curious as to how they’ve become the person they are.

Would you seek out another Urban Drama film in the future. Why or why not?

  • I would definitely seek out more Urban Drama films in the future. It definitely makes me think about how we can never judge a person based on how they look, because everyone has gone through issues– some worst than others. I like that it takes me an emotional roller coaster, and I feel as if I’m in their situation.

Second answer:

What is your opinion of this genre of Film and Theatre?

I feel like this genre is probably the most relatable because the story lines do exists in the real world. For instance in the movie Crash, there were at least four small stories that all connected with one another because the issue for all of them was race and discrimination.

What do you believe are some of the major themes or issues that this genre deals with?

I think the major theme for this genre would be justice and for people to have a better understanding of the things people go through that don’t have the same advances as others. For example, in the movie Crash there is a father who moved with his family to a more decent neighborhood where less gun violence is involved and he does his best to reassure his daughter by wrapping an invincible necklace around her neck telling her it will protect her. When a man who is angry with him shows up to his house with a gun threatening to shoot him and then does and as he does the daughter runs to protect her father made me jump in shock and emotional thinking that the daughter got shot, this is intentional it was to get all the people watching the movie to feel this families struggle and emotions of the things people do that are out of a persons control.

Would you ever go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street? Why or why not?

I don’t see why I wouldn’t go see it. I think its good to see plays when you get the chance to.

Would you seek out another Urban Drama film in the future. Why or why not?

I would seek out another Urban movie, I feel like Urban movies talk about relatable issues going on, For example a lot of the stories in Crash sadly or still relatable.
