final revise of the major paper

based on the last version of the major paper, there are some adjustment which better for the structure and this assignment’s requirement.

1. the argument that mentioned at the first about the different social status people affected by a era that predominated by discrimination is a great point but not very arguable. for this part I want summarized into the first paragraph, which means we can use this point as an intro components and combine with the original contents of the very first paragraph. And i really like the first paragraph sentences especially the last sentences about the main viewpoint, keep it and keep the structure of first paragraph.

2. after the second paragraph, i want first start with the points that riots and violence as an effort to seeking justice in the struggle to achieve respect and equality . for this part i think we should focus on how to expend our points, how to make this point more arguable; as much as you can to deeply talk about this part is important.

3. about the third paragraph, i mentioned that you quote a sentences which is “been a lot of fights together, but we won this one because we learned to flight in a new way” (Luiz Valdez). I think this sentences is really interesting and i want use the third paragraph to engaging my argument in the second paragraph; for example, are there some difference between the zoot suit riots in happened in 1943 and the los angeles riots in 1992; after 50 years is there any change when people faced to riots. when you talk about this part, we can keep use our points about the failture of the criminal justice system and the violence of the government such like that.

I really like the quite use, which is super good and feel free to keep that, but I also want to see the more detailing part when you quote the film’s contents; for example, your can simply describe the actor’s emotion or action when they talk this sentences, what other people’s reaction, also talk little bit your own understanding is better.

these are all the changes of this paper, conclusion part is good, might be just little bit adjustments according to the front paragraph parts.

thanks for your hard working

The rows in the Final Assignment represent the iterative process of developing your research ideas. To complete the Final Assignment, there are four actions:

  • 1st row: Write your initial ideas/thoughts for each item.
  • 2nd row: Gather feedback from others on those items.
  • 3rd row: Finalize your thoughts about each item.

CP Final Draft Checklist

Specifications:

• Word Count:

o No less than 1500 – 2000 words (not including works cited page, footnotes, or captions).

o No more than roughly 2500 words (not including works cited page)

▪ If you need a couple hundred more words, that is fine. However, the purpose of setting such a maximum is to help you develop your critical engagement with your sources and how they relate to the problem you identify. Please try to stay as close to the limit as possible.

• Sources:

o You must have at least 6 sources.

o At least 4 must be scholarly, peer-reviewed sources. (However, depending on your topic this might be more difficult. If you cannot find four that work well email me and we will figure something out.)

• Multimodality

o Make sure you have at least 3 well-chosen multimodal elements.

▪ Remember, multimodality is not just pictures, charts, or videos. Hyperlinks, abstracts, and footnotes are also useful multimodal elements.

Formatting:

• Font: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced, 1-inch margins.

• Make sure you use MLA format for in-text citations and Works Cited Page.

• Check out the following website for information regarding MLA style: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/m…

• Please include a Headnote that contains both your last name and the page number (see the top right corner of this document for an example).

In-text Citation Examples

o When citing an author’s work in-text, there are generally two ways to go about it.

▪ (1) Wordsworth stated that Romantic poetry was marked by a “spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings” (263).

• Because the author’s name is included in the sentence, you do not need to include it in the parenthetical citation.

▪ (2) Romantic poetry is characterized by the “spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings” (Wordsworth 263).

• Because the author’s name is not included in the sentence, it must be included in the parenthetical citation.

o For a work with two authors:

▪ (1) Best and Marcus argue that one should read a text for what it says on its surface, rather than looking for some hidden meaning (9).

(2) The authors claim that surface reading looks at what is “evident, perceptible, apprehensible in texts” (Best and Marcus 9).

o For a work with three or more authors:

▪ (1) According to Franck et al., “Current agricultural policies in the U.S. are contributing to the poor health of Americans” (327).

(2) The authors claim that one cause of obesity in the United States is government-funded farm subsidies (Franck et al. 327).

produce your own original positive argument for a specific conclusion. More specifically, you need write a paper arguing for some thesis/conclusion that you think is true and important

Philosophy , Critical Thinking

For this assignment, you need to produce your own original positive argument for a specific conclusion.More specifically, you need write a paper arguing for some thesis/conclusion that you think is true and important. You can pick any thesis that you want to argue for.You should pick something that you’re interested in and that you feel passionately about.

Here are some examples of things you could argue for in your paper: you could argue that abortion is wrong; you could argue that abortion is not wrong; you could argue that the death penalty is wrong; you could argue that the death penalty is not wrong; you could argue that we should have tighter gun-control laws; you could argue that we shouldn’t have tighter gun-control laws. These are all moral topics. But you don’t have to pick a moral topic. You can write on anything. For instance, you could argue that action movies are better than comedy movies, or that the Lakers are better than the Clippers. It doesn’t matter. The main thing is that you should pick a thesis/conclusion that you believe, and that you’re interested in, and for which you think you can construct a good argument.

If you want to, you can provide multiple arguments for your conclusion in your paper; or if you’d rather, you can develop a single argument. It’s up to you.

In writing your essay, you should use and cite at least one outside source. This can be any source that you want to use–a book, or an essay, or a website, or whatever–as long as you think that it’s a reputable, reliable source. Also, you can use the outside source in whatever way that you want to.For example, you might just want to cite the source to back up a factual claim you are making; for instance, if you’re arguing that abortion is wrong, you could cite some reliable source that provides factual information about abortion statistics.Or if you’d rather, you can cite a work that develops an argument for or against the thesis that you’re arguing for.Again, you can use the source in whatever way you see fit. Moreover, you can decide whether you are going to quote the outside source, or paraphrase it, or summarize it; this is up to you as well.It is important to remember, however, that your paper has to do more than just summarize the thoughts of another writer. It is perfectly OK to rely on the thoughts of others, but there has to be some originality to your paper. Finally, you need to cite the work properly; you need to give credit to the author of the work that you’re citing, and you need to provide your reader with the publication information for that work. You can cite the information in any format that you like. You can put the information in a footnote or in a bibliography at the end of your paper. As long as it’s clear, the format doesn’t matter.
