Deliverable 5 – Multicultural Art Presentation

Assignment Content

  1. Competency

Explain how art contributes to problem solving skills and idea creation in personal and professional experience.

    Scenario

Your company is one of several that hopes to land an international contract with MagnifiCo, a large corporation overseas. You have recently learned that Company X, who is competing for the same overseas contract, has received some negative publicity for their lack of cultural literacy among employees. An embarrassing video has gone viral showing an American employee from Company X awkwardly fumbling through a business dinner with foreign associates. First, he insulted the lack of air conditioning in the foreign restaurant, then he nervously laughed in the middle of their prayer, and finally he nearly spit out the dinner dish he was served! The business deal was doomed.
When you watched the video, you almost took pity on this American businessman clearly so out of his element. But then, you noticed in the background of the video that the entire dinner was taking place in a beautiful building; there was gothic vaulting on the ceiling, finely detailed mosaic tile on the floor, and intricate fresco painting on the wall next to their table.
There was classical music playing in the background— perhaps Baroque? If the American had noticed any of these things, he could have asked his dinner companions about them. If he had learned a little about this country’s culture, he could have even made intelligent conversation about his surroundings and possibly impressed and connected with his colleagues instead of insulting them with awkward behavior.

    Instructions

You are tasked creating a learning presentation for your colleagues on multicultural art relating to MagnifiCo’s geographic location(s) to be delivered at your next office meeting. You may choose the geographic location(s) for MagnifiCo.
NOTE – Depending on your choice(s), there may be more or less distinguishing information available. For example, if you choose a large distinct nation, you may find an abundance of information for all 15 of your slides. If you pick a small isolated culture, you may need to a second or third culture in order to have enough information for 15 slides.
    Design a PowerPoint presentation containing:

    • At least 15 slides, plus cover slide and reference slide.
    • One to three different possible global locations where MagnifiCo does business.
    • Include a minimum of 3 informative slides about each topic in the chosen location(s):
    • well-known artists
    • music
    • architecture
    • literature
    • cultural customs

Wk 4 Differential Diagnosis for Skin Conditions, health and medicine homework help

Discussion: Differential Diagnosis for Skin Conditions

Properly identifying the cause and type of a patient’s skin condition involves a process of elimination known as differential diagnosis. Using this process, a health professional can take a given set of physical abnormalities, vital signs, health assessment findings, and patient descriptions of symptoms, and incrementally narrow them down until one diagnosis is determined as the most likely cause.

In this Discussion, you will examine several visual representations of various skin conditions, describe your observations, and use the techniques of differential diagnosis to determine the most likely condition.

Note: Your Discussion post should be in the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) note format, rather than the traditional narrative style Discussion posting format. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Sullivan text and the Comprehensive SOAP Template in this week’s Learning Resources for guidance. Remember that not all comprehensive SOAP data are included in every patient case.

To prepare:

  • Review the Skin Conditions document provided in this week’s Learning Resources, and select two conditions to closely examine for this Discussion.
  • Consider the abnormal physical characteristics you observe in the graphics you selected. How would you describe the characteristics using clinical terminologies?
  • Explore different conditions that could be the cause of the skin abnormalities in the graphics you selected.
  • Consider which of the conditions is most likely to be the correct diagnosis, and why.

By Day 3

Post a description of the two graphics you selected (identify each graphic by number). Use clinical terminologies to explain the physical characteristics featured in each graphic. Formulate a differential diagnosis of three to five possible conditions for each. Determine which is most likely to be the correct diagnosis, and explain your reasoning.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ responses.

·Consider which of the conditions is most likely to be the correct diagnosis, and why.

Post a 1 page paper APA formatYour Discussion post should be in the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) note format,

1.a description of the two graphics you selected (identify each graphic by number). (see sample skin conditions attached)

2.Use clinical terminologies to explain the physical characteristics featured in each graphic.

Implementation Into Practice

The Institute of Medicine set a goal that 90% of health care
decisions should be evidence-based by 2020. At best guess, less than
10% of decisions use best evidence. Bridging the gap between research,
findings, and practice implementation is one strategy to meet this
important goal. This assignment will help you to find gaps that may be
used for your project.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

  • Review the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
    website to complete the assignment.
  • Doctoral learners are
required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA
Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is
    not required.
  • This assignment uses a rubric. Please Review
the rubric prior to the beginning to become familiar with the
    expectations for successful completion.
  • Use at least two
additional scholarly research sources published within the last 5
years. Provide citations and references for all sources used.
  • You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Please
refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Directions:

Select a practice from the AHRQ comparative effectiveness research
site and write a 1,000-1,250 word paper that looks at a gap that
exists between research findings and the implementation of those
findings in practice. Include the following:

  1. Discuss the practice.
  2. Assess to what extent the
    practice is being implemented.
  3. Evaluate the barriers to
    implementation into practice.
  4. Propose ways to overcome the
    barriers.
  5. Discuss the resources available on the selected
    site to inform translation.

Leadership Journal: Purpose

Journaling provides a valuable tool for recording, reflecting on, and reviewing your learning. This approach provides an opportunity for you to “connect the dots” and observe the relationships between and among activities, interactions, and outcomes.

Unlike a personal journal of thoughts and feelings, this Leadership Journal is a record of your activities, assessments, and learning related to this academic experience.

Journal entries should include a record of the number of hours spent with your nurse leader each week.

Write a journal entry of 900-1,500 words on the subject of purpose, including the following:

  • Provide observations and thoughts on the activities in Weeks 5-6.
  • Describe how your nurse leader’s leadership style affects the people the nurse leads. Do staff members express feelings of support and helpfulness? Are there examples of leading rather than dictating? Did the leader say or do things designed to “build up” staff or were there missed opportunities?
  • Reflect on at least two things you learned from the “Issue of Rule” video

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Please refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Strategic Development and Implementation

Instructions

Note: This course has major project assignments that will be due in Weeks 3 and 5. It will take more than a week’s effort to adequately complete them. Plan time to start the research and other work for those assignments earlier than the week in which they are due.

In the course project, you will analyze the corporate strategies of several organizations. In Weeks 1 and 2, you will be looking at GE. In Weeks 3 and 4, you will be looking at Alibaba. In Week 5, you will be looking at your own organization. Every week, you will analyze particular elements of an organization’s corporate strategy, eventually producing an integrated analysis of your own organization in the final week. Your textbook readings will help you identify the organizations’ corporate strategies. Use the South University Online Library to research the firms, the Hoover’s database is a good place to start.

Begin by downloading the Course Project Guidelines . From the Guidelines, you will gain an understanding of what will be required in the Week 5 paper. For the Week 5 work, you may select your own organization or a different one (with instructor approval) as the subject of the final paper. Be sure to contact your instructor early in the course if you have questions about whether the organization you intend to use in Week 5 is adequate for the project.

For this week, analyze GE’s corporate strategy. GE is moving away from some of its financial services emphasis and strongly into the healthcare field. Focus on GE’s healthcare strategy. Begin your paper with a one or two paragraph background about GE so that anyone picking up the paper would learn something about who the organization is and how they are involved in the healthcare field.

  • Level of diversification: A firm like GE should have a moderate-to-high level of diversification. What are GE’s areas of diversification? Evaluate the potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the diversification approach.
  • International operations: Look at GE’s operations in many countries. Who are their competitors? Evaluate the similarities and differences of GE’s strategy compared to their competitors.
  • Recent events: Look for GE’s engagement in two or more acquisitions or mergers, about which you can collect information. Discuss the corporate strategy and evaluate how it has benefited GE’s acquisition growth and product line.
  • Alliance or joint venture: Select two or more alliances or joint ventures as a meaningful part of one or more of its business units’ business-level strategy. Evaluate the strategy and how well it has worked. Analyze some of the issues encountered. Assess whether the business-level strategy fits their diversification core.

Submission Details:

  • Based on your research, write succinct discussions of each of these items.
  • Present your work as a 4–5-page report in a Microsoft Word document formatted in APA style.
  • Support your responses with examples. Cite any sources in APA format.
  • Name your document MBA6999_W1_LastName_FirstInitial.doc
  • Submit your document to the Submissions Area by the due date assigned.

nursing theory

This Assignment addresses this course outcome:

MN502-4: Develop a philosophy that supports advanced nursing practice reflecting the values, beliefs, and cultural competencies relative to nursing practice, science, and theory.

Now that you have spent the last 8 weeks discussing theory development and exploring models and philosophies that guide advance practice nursing, it is time for you to put it all together. In this Assignment, you will create a presentation using any form of presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint®, Prezi™, Movenote™, Powtoons™, Slidedog™, and so on). Your presentation should bring together the theory that best fits your concept of advance practice nursing, the model that you will use to translate this into practice, and your final philosophy of advance practice nursing related to your role after graduation.

Please remember that your presentation should contain slides that have bullet points. The bullets should number no more than four to six per slide. The bullet point is not written as a complete sentence. It contains key words. You, as the presenter will explain in depth what each bullet point means in the audio portion of the presentation. Slides may contain graphics, but should be uncluttered. Background and font colors should be of sufficient contrast to make reading them easy on the eyes. Attention to colors should be paid so that a person who is colorblind can easily read the presentation.

Assignment Details

The presentation should consist of a series of slides that include:

  • Title Slide: A title slide that identifies the title of the presentation and name of the student.
  • Introduction Slide: An introduction slide that includes brief information about you and your program track. The slide should also explain to the audience the purpose of the presentation.
  • Model Slides: The third and fourth slides will address your chosen model. The bullet points should consist of the specific characteristics of the model. You will need at least one citation that identifies where the model came from. Your audio will expound upon the model and what the characteristics mean. The fourth slide should include why you chose the model and how you will apply it in practice.
  • Theory Slides: The next three slides will focus on your chosen theory. The first slide should present your theory and why you chose it. The next slide would present the key concepts of the theory and how it has been used to date in past research no older than 5 years ago. The third slide will discuss how you will use this theory in practice as an advance practice nurse upon graduation.
  • Philosophy Slide: The next area will consist of one slide that presents your philosophy of advance practice nursing in the post-graduate role you will assume. The philosophy statement will consist of one to three sentences that distill the essence of what you believe advance practice nursing is and your conception of nursing as a profession. It is written in the first person and present tense. It is a personal statement of your beliefs about the profession of nursing. This should present guiding statements for your future practice in the advanced practice role. An example of a philosophy statement might read this way: Advanced practice nursing takes the art and science of nursing to a level of “other” and “self” interacting together to reach a state of optimal wellness guided with compassion and love for the culture of the “other.”
  • Graphical Slide: The next-to-last slide will be a graphical representation of how the model, theory, and your philosophy fit together.
  • Conclusion Slide: The last slide will be a conclusion that brings together everything you have presented. It is not a summary that just reiterates what you presented. It is a judgment about what you presented and bring the audience home, ending the presentation on a positive note about the future.

You will need supporting citations for your theory and model slides, and possibly for your philosophy, as appropriate. You will include the citations where appropriate and your very last slide will be a reference slide.

The total slide count should not exceed 15 slides. This does not include the reference slide(s) or the title slide.

  1. Organization, documentation, references formatting guidelines must follow APA 6th edition: To view the Grading Rubric for this Assignment, please visit the Grading Rubrics section of the Course Resources.
