Compare Ebola and Leishmaniasis to another diseases.

Visit the World Health Organization web site. https://www.who.int/health-topics/

Look up the current status of Ebola and Leishmaniasis, and compare them to a disease (of your choice) that occurs closer to where you live (N. Carolina) (consult Figure 8.6 in your text for information).

What organisms cause the three diseases? What is their current distribution and prevalence? What environmental (think of natural environment, not their home environment) and social factors (that affect the environment) contribute to their spread? Does any treatment exist for the diseases?

Some recent incidents in this radical Islamic terrorist movement have included the following:

  • Use of the Internet to contact other individuals involved in the same brand of radicalism or planning the attack over the Internet.
  • Methods of operation focusing on large-scale bombings or use of explosives aimed at disrupting communication and/or transportation hubs; a common motive of discontent toward U.S. policy, particularly focused on the Iraq and Afghan wars.
  • Association with Anwar al-Awaiki, a U.S.-born, radical cleric who is directly tied to Al-Qaeda and spreads a strong, anti-U.S. agenda.

As a leader in the criminal justice field, consider the challenges we face with homegrown terrorism. In your main post:

  • Explain the type of homegrown terrorism you are likely to face in your locale, and why, based on your location and current or desired position in the criminal justice field.
  • Articulate whether you, as a police administrator, believe it is important in your community to hire recruits with specific training in terrorism or whether training could be provided on the job.
  • Predict the type of training you would institute as the leader in a police department to ensure that your departmental employees were as prepared as possible to confront homegrown terrorism.

Identify the occupational therapy-related theory, film homework help

1. Begin by viewing the selected excerpts from the documentary film, Young @ Heart. For the purposes of the case study analysis, the Young @ Heart Chorus as depicted in the film will be the group and also the naturally occurring intervention to be identified as the case study for this assignment. Take notes about the Young @ Heart Chorus and its members while watching the film excerpts.

2.  Identify the occupational therapy-related theory you would like to use to analyze the case study. Choose one of the following: One of the Ecological Models in Occupational Therapy in W&S Ch. 38; or Kielhofner’s Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) in W&S Ch. 39; or Schultz’s Theory of Occupational Adaptation in W&S Ch. 40.

3.  Write an outline to structure and guide the written presentation of your information for the case analysis.  Include the following in your paper:

  • What information about the Young @ Heart Chorus activities and chorus members would you want to include in the case analysis, based on the occupational therapy related theory you have chosen? Use examples from the film.
  • What unique features of this theory are particularly applicable to this Young @ Heart Chorus case study? Use examples from the film.
  • How might your analysis help to explain the ways in which participation in the Young @ Heart Chorus improves the day-to-day functioning of the chorus members? Use examples from the film.
  • How might your analysis help to explain the ways in which participation in the Young @ Heart Chorus improves the quality of life of the chorus members?  Use examples from the film.
  • Emanating from your theory-based case analysis, as a (hypothetical) OT consultant, what changes would you recommend: a) to help the Young @ Heart Chorus better meet the needs of its chorus members, b) to increase members’ participation and c) improve the quality of chorus members’ participation?
  • How would you address client-centered and culturally sensitive issues for this group as related to their rehearsals?
  • How would you address client-centered and culturally sensitive issues for this group as related to their performances?
  • What lessons can be learned from this case study analysis, to apply to future OT clients at the individual, group, and community level?

4.  Transform your notes into an APA-Style document, crediting the film in the paper’s References section. At the beginning of the paper, make sure you have an introduction that is one or two paragraphs in length. At the end of the paper, include a conclusion that is one or two paragraphs in length. Throughout the paper, use APA formatted headings to organize the information (refer to pages 62-62 in the APA Manual). Include an APA formatted title page (use the title page template as the first page of your document, found in Start Here/Course Resources).  Also include a references page. Refer to the APA Style Manual for the correct formatting and inclusion of citations (see page 177 in the APA manual that summarizes and provide examples) and references (see pages 198-224 in the APA manual that provides examples).

5.  Not counting the cover page and References page, your paper should be 8 pages in length, double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 point font with one-inch margins all around

Patient care hinges in part on adequate and timely information exchange between treating providers. Referral and reply letters are common means by which doctors and nurse practitioners exchange information pertinent to patient care. Ensuring that letters meet the needs of letter recipients saves time for clinicians and patients, reduces unnecessary repetition of diagnostic investigations, and helps to avoid patient dissatisfaction and loss of confidence in medical practitioners.

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) you will need to know the difference between a consultation and a referral for treatment, when ordering and when carrying out consultations or referrals.

Consultations

A consultation is a request for opinion or advice, so that the requestor can manage the patient. A consultation is billed under one of the consultation codes listed in Physicians’ Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) (99241-99245 for outpatient of office consultations). If the NP is the consultant, the NP should document the request for a consultation, the reason for the consult, and the NP’s evaluation and recommendations.

When an NP requests a consultation from another provider, the N P should request “consultation” on the referral form, rather than “referring.”

Referrals:

A referral is made when the referring provider wants to turn the management of the patient over to the referred-to provider, at least for the current complaint.

When a NP refers a patient, the NP should state on the referral form that the NP is “referring the patient for evaluation and treatment.” The referred-to provider will bill an evaluation and management code, rather than a consultation code.

Writing Assignment: Consult: Write up a consult request and include all key elements.

Writing Assignment: Referral: Write up a referral request and include all key elements.

2. Document the evaluation and recommendations for how Dr. Owens should deal with the referral and bill a referral code.
