What does it mean to be accountable in any profession?, psychology homework help

What does it mean to be accountable in any profession? In education, one measure of effectiveness may be the number of students who graduate. For business, it may be the number of returning customers. But what does it mean for clinical mental health counseling? Simply, it is when clients meet their treatment outcomes. However, being accountable for those treatment outcomes can be challenging, and oftentimes new counselors are concerned about accountability, thereby making supervision and consultation essential for rising clinical mental health counseling.

For this Discussion, you consider potential challenges of accountability of treatment outcomes for clients.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review the Learning Resources. Reflect on the importance of accountability, outcomes, needs assessment, and program evaluation to the counseling profession.
  • Think about any concerns you have and challenges you might encounter in being accountable as a counselor and how you might address them.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 3 an explanation of any concerns you might have about a clinical mental health counselor’s accountability for client treatment outcomes. Then explain two potential challenges you might encounter in being held accountable for treatment outcomes as a clinical mental health counselor.

External and Internal Environments

Choose an industry you have not yet written about in this course, and one publicly traded corporation within that industry. Research the company on its own Website, the public filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml), in the University’s online databases, and any other sources you can find. The annual report will often provide insights that can help address some of these questions.

Write an eight to ten (8-10) page paper in which you:

  1. Choose the two (2) segments of the general environment that would rank highest in their influence on the corporation you chose. Assess how these segments affect the corporation you chose and the industry in which it operates.
  2. Considering the five (5) forces of competition, choose the two (2) that you estimate are the most significant for the corporation you chose. Evaluate how well the company has addressed these two (2) forces in the recent past.
  3. With the same two (2) forces in mind, predict what the company might do to improve its ability to address these forces in the near future.
  4. Assess the external threats affecting this corporation and the opportunities available to the corporation. Give your opinions on how the corporation should deal with the most serious threat and the greatest opportunity. Justify your answer.
  5. Give your opinion on the corporation’s greatest strengths and most significant weaknesses. Choose the strategy or tactic the corporation should select to take maximum advantage of its strengths, and the strategy or tactic the corporation should select to fix its most significant weakness. Justify your choices.
  6. Determine the company’s resources, capabilities, and core competencies.
  7. Analyze the company’s value chain to determine where they can create value using the resources, capabilities, and core competencies discussed above.
  8. Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Identify how the six segments of the general environment affect an industry and its firms.
  • Identify the five forces of competition.
  • Analyze the external environment for opportunities and threats that impact the firm.
  • Analyze the internal environment of a company for strengths and weaknesses that impact the firm’s competitiveness.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in business administration.
  • Write clearly and concisely about business administration using proper writing mechanics.

Ethics, Law, and the Judicial System, assignment help

The following has 3 sections about 400 to 600 words each Please read all the directions.

Part 1 – (Ethics, Law, and the Judicial System) 400- 600 words APA

Corporations have a lot of influence over the economy, the community, and people. The traditional view of corporate responsibility is that a corporation has no additional social responsibility beyond making a profit for its shareholders. In more recent years, arguments have arisen with the belief that corporations have a high degree of social responsibility to people affected by the corporation’s decisions.

Case Example: Phishy Pharmaceuticals is a corporation that recently kicked off the sale of its new weight-loss pill, Lose It Fast. After three months of sales, the management team has received some troubling reports of some unanticipated side effects caused by the pill. The management team asks the accounting department to run some numbers to determine how much it would cost to recall Lose It Fast, to suspend manufacturing, and to conduct more tests to determine the pill’s safety and other possible side effects.

After running some numbers, the accounting department states that it would be more cost-effective to leave the product on the market shelves and propose settlement proceedings with anyone who is injured and initiates a lawsuit.

The corporate attorney has advised that the product states on the package that the pill is not FDA approved, and off-the-record has stated that everyone who buys a weight-loss product knows there are some risks involved, so it is likely that the majority of injured consumers will not initiate a lawsuit.

If you recall the product, it will result in a delay of dividends paid to shareholders and a loss in revenue, affecting shareholder profit. Consider the following questions regarding this example:

  • What would you do, and why?
  • Would you leave the product on the shelves because you feel your duty as a corporate manager is to maximize shareholder profits?
  • Would you recall the product because you feel the corporation owes a duty to the public, consumers, and the government in terms of social responsibility?

Part 2 – ( Legal Issues: Contract & Agency Law ) – write a memo of 600–800 words APA

Week 1 discussion 2

Like phenomenology, ethnomethodology is all about meaning and, in particular, how it is communicated and shared between people. Reading Garfinkel’s “Studies in Ethnomethodology” is a bit like reading a sitcom script in parts, if only because his brilliant breaching experiments expose the taken-for-granted absurdity of our everyday existence. Ponder the questions below as you work through the reading of Harold Garfinkel’s work, “Studies in Ethnomethodology” in Section One of your text, Social Theory Re-Wired. Look at the recommended resources for this week for additional materials to help you complete this discussion.

Answer the following:

  • What does Garfinkel mean when he writes that moral facts are the “natural facts of life”?
  • What are “background expectancies” and how do they typically come about in everyday conversation?
  • Garfinkel gives us a series of experiments in which the background expectancies of conversation are made apparent, either by a student analyzing a conversation after the fact, as in the case of the husband and wife talking about Dana, or cases where experimenters deliberately disrupted the taken-for-granted assumptions. Think of an example where such background expectancies were important for your own conversation with someone to become meaningful. Explain and quote the conversation that occurred as they did in the reading.
  • Explain what methods you used to make the conversation “happen,” or in other words, how you ensured that the “background expectancies” of your conversation were understood by the other person?
  • Explain how understanding other’s background expectancies are useful in society.

Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7.
