Ashford 4: – Week 3 – Assignment Comparing and Contrasting Theories of Learnin

No quotations are allowed in your Week 3 assignment.  However, the
assignment requires that you use three scholarly sources.  This might be
confusing for those of you who haven’t used APA formatting much in the
past.

Prior to beginning this assignment, be sure to review the required
materials for this week, including the Information literacy: The perils
of online research video that you watched in Week One, and review any
relevant Instructor Guidance.

For this written assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding
of theoretical perspectives by creating a compare and contrast essay on a
topic you select from the list below. This assignment will allow you to
examine two or more different approaches to a given problem or
different examples of a specific phenomenon. In this essay, you will
analyze and explain a minimum of two similarities and two differences in
the topics. You will also analyze and explain the essential connection
between the subjects by justifying and making their comparison relevant
and important.  For this essay, you should write for an audience of
novice students of learning psychology. To create a lucid and
well-developed essay in your own words, you should refrain from using
quotations from your sources.

Choose one of the topics from the list below to compare and contrast:

  • Humanism and behaviorism as psychological learning theories/principles
  • Humanism and social constructivism as psychological learning theories/principles
  • The three types of learning domains (Bloom, 1956)

Once you have made your choice, you will apply basic research to your
project by taking some time to research and develop your expertise in
the subject. This will aid you in the successful completion of this
assignment. The research can be accomplished through reading online
material or researching articles and e-books available from the Ashford
University Library. You must utilize at least three scholarly sources,
two of which must be from the Ashford University Library. (For
assistance with finding resources in the Ashford University Library
related to your subject, please see this tutorial.)

    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name

    lasting impression for the reader).
  6. Must use at least three scholarly sources, two of which must come from the Ashford University Library.

PAPER FOR CISS 391 DUE ON 12th

Write
3 policies, each geared to a different type of organization. The
primary introduction for this topic is in Chapter 4 of the textbook.
However, you can conduct some additional research to gain a better
understanding of these policies.

The first policy is an Enterprise Information Systems Policy (EISP). Write
this policy from the perspective that you are part of a large medical
organization that stores patient history on your network. Use the components of an EISP as described in Table 4-1 on page 164 of the textbook.

20180610_203302.jpg

The second policy is an Issue-Specific Security Policy (ISSP). You will write an Independent ISSP that is tailored to a specific issue. You may choose any one of the 10 topics listed at the top of page 165 of the textbook as your Issue-Specific topic. Write
this policy from the perspective of the manager of a department within
an organization that works with highly classified material on a regular
basis. Use the components of an ISSP as described in Table 4-2 on page 166 of the textbook.

20180610_203405.jpg

The third policy is also an Issue-Specific Security Policy (ISSP). Select a different topic from the same list on page 165 of your text. In
this case, write the policy from the perspective of a manager that has
no employees located in the main building of the organization. All
employees in this department work from home and are spread throughout
the country. They must access the company’s servers and storage for
information to do their jobs. This information is sensitive to the
company but not highly classified. Use the components of an ISSP as described in Table 4-2 on page 166 of the textbook.

RE: SOCW6111 – 2 Discussion Questions (WK8)

Discussion 1 – Play Therapy

Children who have been abused or traumatized in some way may benefit from working with a therapist. Children often reenact trauma through repetitious play in order to establish mastery over their emotions and integrate experiences into their history on their own terms. Through the use of toys and props, children may naturally share their emotions and past experiences without feeling the pressure they might encounter with traditional talk therapy.

For this Discussion, review the course-specific case study for Claudia and the Chiesa (2012) and Taylor (2009) articles.

Post an explanation of ways play therapy might be beneficial for Claudia. Using the insights gained from the articles, describe ways you might have worked with Claudia to address her fears and anxiety related to the mugging she witnessed.

Please use subheading and be detailed in response. Use APA formatting with 2 peer reviewed references.

Support your posts with specific references to the Learning Resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.

Discussion 2 – Tranference and Countertransference

Specific skills and knowledge are essential for a social
worker working with children. Understanding transference and
countertransference is crucial to a healthy therapeutic relationship. Both
transference and countertransference can be evident in any client–therapist
relationship, but are especially important in working with children because of
a common instinct among adults to protect and nurture the young. The projection
or relocation of one’s feelings about one person onto another, otherwise known
as transference, is a common response by children (Gil, 1991). Countertransference,
a practitioner’s own emotional response to a child, is also common.

For this Discussion, review the Malawista (2004)
article.

Post your
explanation why transference and countertransference are so common when working
with children. Then, identify some strategies you might use to address both
transference and countertransference in your work with children.

Please use subheading and be detailed in response.
Use APA formatting with 2 peer reviewed references.

Support your posts with specific
references to the Learning Resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for
your references.

Ethical Issues with an aging population discussion post

Discussion: Ethical Issues With an Aging Population

According to the CDC, “in the United States, the proportion of the population aged >65 years is projected to increase from 12.4% in 2000 to 19.6% in 2030,” (CDC, 2003, para. 2). Caring for this aging population is going to be one of the greatest challenges facing the health care industry. Not only will the number of individuals requiring care rise, but so will the cost. As poignantly stated by Crippen and Barnato, “unless we change the practice of medicine and reduce future costs, and explicitly address the ethical dilemmas we face, there may come a time when our kids simply cannot afford us” (2011, p. 128).

In this Discussion, you will examine the ethical issues that the United States and other nations must address when faced with the health care challenges of an aging population.

To prepare:

  • Consider the ethical aspects of health care and health policy for an aging population.
  • Review the Hayutin, Dietz, and Mitchell report presented in the Learning Resources. The authors pose the question, “What are the economic consequences, now and for future generations of taxpayers if we fail to adapt our policies to the changing reality of an older population?” (p. 21). Consider how you would respond to this question. In addition, reflect on the ethical decisions that arise when dispersing limited funds.
  • Contemplate the impact of failing to adjust policy in accordance with the changing reality of an older population.
  • Reflect on the ethical dilemmas that arise when determining expenditures on end-of-life health care.

By Day 3

Post an explanation of the ethical standards you believe should be used in determining how resources should be allocated for an aging population and end-of-life care. Then, provide an analysis of the ethical challenges related to the preparation for the provision of such health care.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ responses.
