SNAP Challenge, health and medical assignment help

SNAP CHALLENGE (100pts.)

Warning

You are not required to buy the actual food or live off the actual food. This is purely a hypothetical academic exercise.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, feeds millions of hungry families in America every month. But with the rising cost of food and the economy struggling, these benefits are sometimes a family’s only access to food.

You will attempt to shop and create a meal plan for seven days living off the average SNAP benefit for a person in the state of Maryland ($30 a week or about $4.29/day).

You must have at least three (3) meals per day.

You have $30 imaginary dollars to spend on food for the week.

This project requires planning ahead of time. Think about ingredients that can be used for multiple meals.

You must visit one (1) grocery store and create a list of products and prices for your week of meals. You can include any deals/sales you see that day (2 for the price of 1, etc…).

Assignment:

Part 1: Grocery List

Create a chart or grid with all products “purchased” for the week and their cost at one grocery store. You may not go over $30. Please show the total price.

Part 2: Meals

Create a chart or grid with all meals for the week. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner each of the seven (7) days.

Part 3: Nutrition Information

Using whatever resources you feel comfortable with (apps, websites, cook books, etc.) calculate the nutritional information for each meal and totals for each day of the week.

The information must include calories, fat, carbs, protein, and sodium. You may include any others if you wish.

Part 4: Reflection Paper (Two pages)

Must contain the following sections and information:

*General thoughts about the SNAP program before you analyzed results.

*How difficult was it to plan a week’s worth of meals?

*Do you think you could really live off of $30 a week for an extended period of time?

*Did this assessment change your mind about the SNAP program? Why or why not?

Technical Guidelines:
Reflection will be typed, double spaced, 12 point font with 1″ margins on all sides of 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper in APA format. Correct spelling and grammar.

ON A SEPARATE COVER SHEET, include name, ID number, and the course number.

answer forum question.

Please use the Model Penal Code.

Michelle and Stacey were roommates. Michelle had a boyfriend named Steve. Stacey did not like Steve very much. She found him to be ignorant and thought he drank too much. Stacey also did not like the way Steve treated Michelle. One night Stacey game back to the apartment and found Steve stabbing Michelle in her chest over and over yelling, “how could you do this to me Michelle, I love you with all my heart, how could you.” Steve was visibly drunk. Stacey walked over to her desk drawer and pulled out a gun and stated, “I have had enough of you Steve.” Stacey shot Steve straight in the heart and he died. Moments later Michelle got to her feet and took the knife Steve was stabbing her with and stabbed Stacey in the chest several times yelling, “I loved him, how dare you.”

Discuss the crime(s) Stacey and Michelle would be guilty of using the model penal code.

Political, Legal, and Technical Decision-Making

Critical Thinking Case Study: The Ethics of Global Drug Pricing (100 Points)

Using the Six Steps of Decision-Making framework from this week’s content, please develop an essay responding to the following questions related to the case study The Ethics of Global Drug Pricing.

  1. Recognize decision requirement: What are the ethical issues being discussed in the case concerning drug pricing?
  2. Diagnosis and analysis of causes: Why are drug prices so high in the United States and what should be done?
  3. Development of alternatives: What are other countries doing to fight high drug prices?
  4. Selection of desired alternative: Decide on alternatives for the United States.
  5. Implementation of alternatives: Which alternatives would be best to drive down drug prices in the United States?
  6. Evaluation and feedback: Have your recommendations been implemented in other countries? Are they working? What has been the outcome?

In this course you will have six Critical Thinking assignments where you will respond to assignment questions to develop an essay. Essays have an introduction (to the topic of the assignment), a body (where you will integrate your responses) and a conclusion (your thoughts on the assignment). Please do not just answer the questions as is. It is best to use APA headings to capture the essence of the questions as a way to make sure you have integrated all of the responses in your essay. Also, make sure you are using an APA paper template as a starting point.

Your well-written essay should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 5-6 pages in length, which does not include the title page, abstract, or required reference page, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
  • Use APA style guidelines.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.

Unit IV Project

Instructions

You have been hired as the manager for a new clinical lab company in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The lab is a nonprofit that serves low-income patients in the downtown area. The lab is in the process of setting its fees-for-services on individual services. The clinic director has estimated fixed costs of $436,000, a volume of 18,500 tests, and variable cost rate of $19.

She has asked you to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the lab’s board of directors, explaining variable and fixed costs for healthcare services in the lab. Prepare a 7 to 10 slide PowerPoint that explains the following items.

§Figure the price breakeven for the clinic.

§List and explain fixed costs that the lab will have.

§List and explain variable costs per visit that the lab will encounter.

§The board will need to be aware that pricing may change if estimated costs are not accurate. If fixed costs end up being $397,500, how will the price breakeven change?

§Explain how these pricing or volume changes may affect the lab.

Use your imagination or do whatever research is necessary to come up with some of the fixed and variable costs to present to the board. Feel free to use any graphics or images in your project that you feel would enhance the presentation. You are required to use the Notes section of PowerPoint to explain information on the slides to the board. You are required to use at least your textbook for the assignment.

Be sure to cite any sources used and include a reference slide with proper APA formatting.

Lesson 11 ADVERTISING

Write a post (minimum of four paragraphs single-spaced) explaining the following:

  • The key concepts you have learned thus far about advertising.
  • Then tell us how you feel about advertisements in general?
  • What types of advertisements do you like or pay attention to?
  • What kinds of advertisements do you dislike?
  • Give specific examples of each.
  • What is your most and least favorite commercial?
  • Which ones don’t you get at all?

There are many popular television commercials, some that have been repeated for many years, such as the Budweiser Clydesdale Super Bowl commercials, the Geico Insurance gecko, or Flo the Progressive Insurance lead spokesperson. A video link of an ad you really like or dislike would enhance your grade on this discussion.

Vulnerable populations are those who need particular consideration paid to health care such as disabled, extremely old or young, LGBT population, or those uninsured or underinsured (Green, 2018). Patients who are among the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community are varied in their vulnerability even within their own community. Those in the community come from all walks of life, rich/poor, different ethnicities and races. An insured Caucasian middle class bisexual person married to an opposite sex partner will be less vulnerable than an uninsured poor African American transgendered person. Recent estimates have placed the number of adults in the United States who identify as LGBT at about 4% with 11% acknowledging some same sex attraction (De Guzman, 2018). According to the CDC, about one fourth of transgender women are HIV positive and more than half of African American transgender women are HIV positive (HIV/AIDS, 2018). The LGBT community and specifically the transgender community have faced stigma, discrimination, and family rejection. The family rejection leads to higher rates of homelessness among the community and higher rates of survival prostitution (HIV/AIDS, 2018). The public health nurse is obligated to be a voice for this community, showing understanding, empathy and compassion. Resources available to patients are available from the CDC which include the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, ActUp, and funding for Health Department Demonstration Projects (HIV/AIDS, 2018).

My name is Huiwen Mattingley. I was born in Shanghai, China, discussion post help

Please respond in 5 sentences or more.

Hello,

My name is Huiwen Mattingley. I was born in Shanghai, China. I live in Japan with my husband and two beautiful girls. We enjoy the food- Sushi and weather here. I work for the Child Development Center on Naval Base. In the past 10 years, I have worked with different age groups. I feel I can learn so many things from children. I think this is the most rewarding job. Currently, I am taking college classes for my BA in Early Childhood Education Administration. I hope one day that I will become a center Director and share my knowledge with others.

I think the statement of “If you plan to teach, you are almost guaranteed to have students with disabilities in your classroom, regardless of your teaching assignment” is true. All children are different. They all have their like and dislike. When children is not interested in one subject, they will simply refuse to receive information during the learning process. In long term, this can cause their certain skills developmentally delay. With this in mind, I would like to learn how to identify those children with disabilities that is not visible to others and how to assist them to develop age appropriately.

Usually when working with children with disabilities, people always over protect them. Staff won’t treat them equal as the regular children just because they have disabilities. Here are some concerns I have. I have seen staff mark those children in front of others. They will tell other children that they cannot play with the child with disability because the child can move freely like the others. This is not help although the staff just doesn’t want the child with disability to get hurt. But the action discouraged the child to develop social/emotional skills. I have seen group children laugh at the child wearing glasses. The action doesn’t help the children with disabilities to recognize what they are and be proud of themselves.

When we working with students with disabilities, it brings more challenges because we won’t just educate one child but the whole class on the interaction with someone with disabilities. I have see many staff striving to provide better care for those children. As long as we put our efforts in, the outcome will be rewarding.
