Case Assignment

Utilize the required readings for this module and access http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/ to write a short paper (2-3 pages) addressing the following items in particular:

1. Describe the County Health Rankings.
2. At the County Health Ranking’s Web page, click on the “search by county, state, or topic” area.
   1. Search for “Orange, CA” information.
   2. Identify Orange County, California’s ranking under “Health Behaviors”.
   3. Identify percentages of 4 health behaviors listed under Orange County.
   4. Search for your Local County and State where you currently live.
   5. Briefly summarize findings about your local county and state’s health outcomes (example: to length of life, quality of life, and health behaviors).
3. In your own words, define “risk factors” and provide examples of risk factors for health behaviors you identified in #2 above. Be sure to cite a reference even though you used your own words.
4. Research and identify another source of data for health behaviors (e.g., national database or tracking system).

For this activity, you should identify one specific investment that you plan to make in your music industry career or organizational plans and then perform a break-even analysis for this expenditure.

Alternatively, you should feel free to perform a hypothetical break-even analysis with regard to investing in new merchandise for yourself or your artist.

Based on your findings/analysis, does this seem like a sound investment to make? Why or why not?

There were a couple of conflicts present in this story but the one that resonated with me is the conflict of Individual versus Society. Kali is afraid to inform her family that she is a lesbian for fear of rejection. She is worried her family will not accept her and even forbid her from seeing her nieces.  There was also the conflict Kali presented within herself (individual vs. self) that becomes evident when she admits that deep down she may want Steve to divulge her secret for her.

The first literary technique I noticed in the play is dramatic irony. Dramatic irony is defined as “when the reader or audience knows more about the action than the character involved” (Clugston, 2014). We as the reader are already aware that Kali is a lesbian and Steve is a straight man desperate to marry. When Steve begins to propose marriage the reader is aware of the pending outcome. The second technique is resolution. After a somewhat intense discussion between the two main characters on their positions within the story, they come to a conclusion. Kali and Steve begin to listen and understand each other. The story concludes with the two accepting one another’s positions and continuing a friendly dinner.

Future Direction of Health Care

In a three- to five-page paper:

  • Economics, including third party payers, future funding, rising costs, the Medicare and Medicaid programs
  • Access to health care including the uninsured and those in the poverty levels
  • Public entities in controlling the demand aspects of health service
  • Market shares and advancing age of population
  • Maintaining a skilled workforce
  • Pay for performance
• Describe how an organization can adapt its direction and strategies to effectively address these challenges.

Your paper must be three to five double-spaced pages (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Utilize a minimum of two scholarly sources that were published within the last five years. One source must be obtained from the Ashford University Library. All sources must be documented in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

A couple of years ago I worked at a law firm that specialized in insurance defense and had been around for about ninety years. During this time I worked as a secretary for a lawyer who had been practicing law Maritime Law for about 30 years. Just a brief explanation, Maritime Law covers cargo ships that ships goods around the world. It’s the law of the sea. I remember having a conversation with her about how she decided to become a lawyer. She went on to tell how when she first considered law school she was told by many that women were not good lawyer and will never have a place in a male dominated field and she would be better off being a secretary that supports the lawyer. That didn’t stop her and she is recognized as a top Maritime Lawyer and is still practicing law in a field that she is passionate about. I have been working in the legal field for about 10 years and have seen very few men that are secretaries is this because of the job title? There are many career fields that are consided only for males and many are fighting for equal pay and a equal chance for women in these male dominated fields.
