• Your case study will be not less than six pages in length.  

• It will be double spaced, 12 point font, 1” margins throughout.  

• Appendices, charts, citations and endnotes are not included in the page length             constraints.  

• Do not plagiarize sources; if you feel compelled to quote an external source, use         appropriate attributions and citations.

• Be aware of the Similarity Score before you press the submit button. If you have         more than 10% similarity score on the submitted case study, you will receive an          automatic zero. No exceptions.

Your case study will be direct and to the point, but will not be so brief as to only provide veneer without necessary depth.  It will be insightful and thoughtful and present your answers to the specific questions provided.  It will also present your creative application of the course material to the topic at hand. 

Cases will be graded based upon comprehension and application of the course material (both textbook and lecture), as well as your insight, interpretation and attempt to draw business conclusions from the case and questions posed.

In other words, do not simply regurgitate the textbook or lecture material to respond to the case questions.  Use your own insight and creative thinking to form an informed opinion about the case and include your opinions and insights in your paper.

Case Study

Ms. JN is a 24-year-old law student who presents to an outpatient psychiatry clinic accompanied by her husband. She feels “worried about everything!” She is “stressed out” about her academic workload and upcoming exams. She feels fatigued and has difficulty concentrating on her assignments. She also complains of frequent headaches and associated neck muscle spasms, as well as difficulty falling asleep. The patient’s husband describes her as “a worrier. She’ll worry about me getting into an accident, losing my job, not making enough money—the list goes on and on.” Ms. JN reports that she has always had some degree of anxiety, but previously found that it motivated her. Over the last year, her symptoms have become debilitating and beyond her control.

Questions:

Remember to answer these questions from your textbooks and clinical guidelines to create your evidence-based treatment plan. At all times, explain your answers. Summarize the clinical case Formulate Create a list of the patient’s problems and prioritize them. Which pharmacological treatment would you prescribe? Include the rationale for this treatment. Which non-pharmacological treatment would you prescribe? Include the rationale for this treatment. Include an assessment of treatment’s appropriateness, cost, effectiveness, safety, and potential for patient adherence.

Submission Instructions:

• Your initial post should be at least 500 words, formatted, and cited in current APA style with support from at least 2 academic sources. Your initial post is worth 8 points.
• You should respond to at least two of your peers by extending, refuting/correcting, or adding additional nuance to their posts. Your reply posts are worth 2 points (1 point per response.)
• All replies must be constructive and use literature where possible.
• Please post your initial response by 11:59 PM ET Thursday, and comment on the posts of two classmates by 11:59 PM ET Sunday.
• Late work policies, expectations regarding proper citations, acceptable means of responding to peer feedback, and other expectations are at the discretion of the instructor.

Suppose
you decide (as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg) to start a company.  Your product is a software platform that
ingrates a wide range of media devices, including laptop computers, desktops,
digital video recorders, and cell phones. 
Your initial market is the student body at your university.  Once you have established your company and
set up procedures for operating it, you plan to expand to other colleges in the
area, and eventually go nationwide.  At
some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, you plan to go public with ab
IPO, and then buy a yacht and take off for the South Pacific to indulge in your
passion for underwater photography.  With
these issues in mind, you need to answer for yourself, and potential investors,
the following questions. 

a.  What is
an agency relationship?  When you first
begin operations, assuming you are the only employee and only your money is
invested in the business, would any agency conflicts exist?  Explain your answer. 

b.  If you
expanded and hired additional people to help you, might that give rise to
agency problems?

c.  Suppose
you need additional capital to expand and you sell some stock to outside
investors.  If you maintain enough stock
to control the company, what type of agency conflict might occur?

h.  List three provisions in the corporate
charter that affect takeovers.

i.  Briefly describe the use of stock options in
a compensation plan.  What  

are some potential problems with stock options as a form of

compensation?

j.  What is block ownership?  How does it affect corporate governance?

k.  Briefly explain how regulatory agencies and
legal systems affect

Write a reading response of at least 500 words in which you reflect on Lawrence’s “The Rocking-Horse Winner” and Leavitt’s “Gravity.”

Consider the following in your response:  Both stories involve the relationship between a mother and her son. What is the “truth” that is reflected in the relationship between Paul and his mother in “The Rocking-Horse Winner”? How about in the conflict between Sylvia and Theo in “Gravity”? Are there are, broader “truths” exposed in these two stories? If so, to what do they pertain?  Talk about your reaction to each story: what did you like (or dislike)? Which character(s) could you relate to? Why? How did you feel about the ending of each story? Did you want to know more – like a what-happened-after sequel? Comment on anything else about the stories that was significant to you.
