Assume you own a computer retail store located near your campus (give the store any name you want). You have sold fewer PCs in recent years due to the strong demand for Macs among university students. You will write a sales letter to reach all student housing units. Your goal is to encourage students to purchase PCs at your store. You can do online research to help you contrast PCs with Macs and identify pricing levels. In the sales letter, attempt to show students the advantages of PCs compared to Macs and get them to take specific steps to learn more about or even purchase a PC at your store.

Power Point Presentation

You will create a PowerPoint slide presentation. The point of the exercise is for you to convince someone in the US Export Assistance Center (USEAC) that you are “export-ready”. The USEAC is a governmental organization which can help you determine if your company or proposed project is export-ready.

Use the information from your assignments on creating and writing an export plan. Here are the applicable assignments: See Attachments

Creating an Export Plan

Entry Mode and Target Market

Global Marketing Plan

Create a PowerPoint presentation that uses the key information you learned that would show you know enough about your product, the country to which you hope to export, your target market, etc., to be successful in exporting. Remember, you only need to do this for the one country which is Canada and product Makeup brushes

You do not need to cover every single point you did in your research. You need to decide what is most important and cover that. That said, you should show enough information.

The presentation should be no fewer than 12 slides. You must also have reference slides to cover all of your references. Your reference slides do NOT count in that 12.

DO NOT cram a bunch of words onto a slide. At least half of your slides must include graphical elements (pictures or videos, artwork, etc.).

Remember, PowerPoint presentations are most effective when you use fewer words and include graphics. Do not try to cram it all onto slides. Bullet points with enough facts and figures are the best way to go.

You MUST include in-text citations. Because you have limited room, you can use a smaller font for these on your slides.

You MUST include your full reference list at the end. It should cover several slides. DO NOT USE JUST URLs AS REFERENCES. THESE ARE NOT REFERENCES. Remember, you must include your references, every single reference you used in the assignments See Attachments for references, that are being merged into this final assignment.

You need to include in-text citations and references.

All You really need to do is combine attachments in to a power point presentation so it makes sense…

an appeal to logic

communicates not only the overall idea, but employs the

strategies we discussed in class

Support your claim through evidence, visual choices, such

as typography, color, placement, graphics, etc.

Appeal to a specific audience. Write about translating

linguistic claims into visual claims. How does your visual

support your project and purpose?

You will also compose a

short essay reflection

(2-3 pages)

in which you analyze the process you used to compose your

visual argument, composed of answers to the questions

  1. Pricing Strategies Analysis

Because it is so easy to get information on the Internet, consumers generally have become more aware of and sensitive to price. This trend has forced both manufacturers and retailers to become more price competitive. Some consumers even know more about the relative value of different products than the firms from which they are buying. For this assignment, please image that you were assigned the responsibility for selling your firm’s products on Amazon, how would you achieve the highest price? Give three specific ideas. In your analysis, you may use the following guidelines:

  • Identify and describe the firm and products you have selected for your assignment. Why do you believe you should use Amazon to sell the products online? (3 points)
  • List and discuss the three specific ideas that you use to help company achieve the highest price. Explain the key difference among these three ideas. (4 points)

Fighting Over a Woman

Officers are called to Joe’s Bar on a report of a fight between two men named Roger and Bobby. When they arrive, they find Bobby sitting in the parking lot. Witnesses report that Roger was angry because Bobby had stolen his girlfriend and the two argued in the bar. Bobby decided to leave rather than get into a fight. When Bobby left, Roger followed him out into the parking lot and began punching Bobby in the head. Bobby had a bloody lip but refused to go to the hospital.

Officers found Roger as he was walking down the street. When the officer stopped to speak with Roger, he punched one of the officers and gave him a bruised cheek. Roger was then arrested and taken to jail.

Roger had been arrested for DWI in the past. He was also convicted of assaulting his wife the previous year.
