Disaster relief funds to foreign lands is something that the United States, as a member of the United Nations, is responsible for providing to relieve those affected by globalized disasters. Often times, these funds, along with those from other countries, are used to repair infrastructure that is critical to the country in distress. There are even funds established to cover insurance companies and protect them from bankruptcy in the event of a terrorist attack.
