hi here my statement problem title thesis shows researcher focus

Hi Here is my Statement of the Problem: As the title of the thesis shows the researcher focus is on the analyses of the three concepts of Lack,Self and Belonging, reflected in the selected novellas of Auster. As written, my problem statement is not quite as informative as it could be. I have to write what kind of lack you will be discussing. Lack of what? Belonging to what? But I have the same questions about self and belonging. What I mean by self? Because this adds a lot of information, I would like to split the problem statement into two sentences, so it might look something like this: As the title of the thesis shows, this paper will examine Auster’s novels from a postmoderist perspective, focusing on [some word that sums up all three concepts (pyschological understandings?)]. These [whatever your sum up word is] are lack of any transcendental signifier, self as non stable and everchanging[something] transient fragmented, and the idea of belonging to X. Thanks.

evaluating objective and projective assessments

Evaluating Objective and Projective Asessments

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review Chapters 8 and 9 in your textbook.

In this assignment, you will compare projective and objective methods of personality assessment. Research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles in the Ashford University Library that were published within the last 15 years on these techniques. In your paper, you will provide an evaluation of these techniques organized according to the outline provided below. Use information from your researched peer-reviewed articles and required sources to support your work in each section.

Section 1: Objective Personality Assesment

  • Define the term objective in objective methods of personality assessment.
  • Summarize the features of objective methods of personality assessment, and provide at least three examples of these types of measures.
  • Explain the assumptions on which objective methods are based, and provide an analysis of empirical research testing the validity of the assumptions you identified.
  • Appraise the research exploring the technical adequacy (i.e., reliability and validity) of objective tests.
  • Describe the impact of social and culture variability on the administration and interpretation of objective tests.
  • Section 2: Projective Personality Assesment

  • Define the term projective in projective methods of personality assessment.
  • Summarize the features of projective methods of personality assessment, and provide at least three examples of these types of measures.
  • Explain the assumptions on which projective methods are based, and provide an analysis of empirical research testing the validity of the assumptions you identified.
  • Appraise the research exploring the technical adequacy (i.e., reliability and validity) of projective tests.
  • Describe the impact of social and culture variability on the administration and interpretation of projective tests.
  • Section 3: Synthesis, Conclusions, and Recommendations

  • Write a brief one-paragraph scenario for a fictitious client. Include the following information: presenting concerns (reason for referral), age, gender, ethnicity, language(s), and any other significant information (e.g., military status, health issues, marital status, sexual orientation, etc.).
  • Debate the arguments supporting and opposing the use of projective and objective personality assessments with your identified client.
  • Select a minimum of one objective and one projective measure to use with your client. Compare the use of the selected projective and objective personality measures with your identified client.
  • Analyze the advantages and limitations of each assessment measure you selected.
  • Compose recommendations to improve the validity of personality assessment.
  • The Evaluation of Objective and Projective Measures of Personality

OVERVIEW: Psychological and medical studies are commonly discussed in the media. Often, the general public hears about these studies through popular press articles. It is our responsibility to critically evaluate whether the conclusions being drawn by these popular press articles are consistent with the data from the original research. The goal of this paper is to practice critical thinking and summarizing research articles.

    GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

For this assignment, you will pick and read one of the following pairs of articles. You will read the first pair about video and creativity or the second pair about sleep. In each pair, there is 1 popular press article and 1 peer-reviewed research article. If you have taken this class in the past, you must choose the pair of articles that you have not written about previously. If you have written about both pairs of articles previously, email your TA for an alternative pair of articles.

Read the peer-reviewed article, paying close attention to their research design and findings. Then, read the popular press article, paying close attention to how the findings of the peer-reviewed article are interpreted and described. Review what you learned from lecture regarding research methods and causality.

Please see the rubric for how the paper will be graded: Link

    Formatting and guidelines:

    • The final paper should be:
      • 2-3 pages long
      • Double-spaced
      • Size 12 Times New Roman font
      • 1” margins
    • You are only allowed up to 2 quotes in the entire paper if necessary.
      • These quotes cannot be longer than 1 sentence.
      • Use your own words – paraphrase the authors’ ideas carefully.
    • Make sure your main argument is clearly identified. Give concrete examples.
      • Make sure each paragraph makes a clear point
      • Make sure the ordering of points from paragraph to paragraph is logical
    • Proper spelling, grammar, style, and writing quality are all very important.

    FIRST PAIR: SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS

      • Explain whether and how the outcome of the study supports the research hypothesis.
    2. Summarize the popular press article.
      • The popular press article may or may not use causal language. Note any statements, phrases, or conclusions that imply causality.
    3. Evaluate whether the press article provided an accurate report of the original research.
      • Did the author use any language that implied a causal relationship between the variables that were studied?
      • Describe why causal conclusions cannot be made from correlational studies.
      • Suggest and explain a possible third variable that might account for the finding that videogame playing is associated with creativity.

    SECOND PAIR: SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS

    Use the following outline:

    1. Summarize the peer-reviewed article.
      • Identify the research hypothesis, the subject variable(s), the design of the study, and the outcome.
      • Explain whether and how the outcome of the study supports the research hypothesis.

FINAL PROJECT: Power Point Slide Show

Instructions: Using Power Point, create a slide show of at least 15 but no more than 20 slides in which you present one of the following:

    • A set of instructions directed to a specific audience relating a step-by-step process involving at least 10 but no more than 15 distinct steps.
    • A set of procedures directed to a specific audience that involves at least 10 but no more than 15 points.

Here are three important ideas to keep in mind:

    1. This is a business presentation, so the topic or subject you choose should be business appropriate. Examples of inappropriate topics might include “how to change a tire,” “how to kick a soccer ball,” or “how to bake marijuana brownies.” Imagine yourself, dressed in business dress, standing in front of a room full of men and women at a business conference. They are expecting a professional, informative, and engaging presentation by you. You represent not only yourself, but your corporation, hospital, college, or business.
    2. A good presentation is an informed presentation. That means your content should be thoroughly researched and documented. Typically, a minimum of three sourcesconstitutes a barely suitable number of sources.

    gender and climate pt 1

This week, the reading assignment is: Dankelman, Chapters 1 – 5. Gender and Climate Change: An Introduction

Assignment: Provide an approximate 1200-word overview and explanation of the important concepts in the readings. Assume that you are writing for an uninformed reader that knows nothing about the topic and has not read what you read. Provide an introduction that gives the background of the resource you’re reviewing, so the reader will understand what they’re reading and why. Consider the following topics for inclusion in this week’s discussion:

    – Are gender issues related to climate change? In what ways?

    – Are security issues related to gender issues? In what ways?

    – How do cities factor into the relationships between gender, race, climate change, and security?

    – What are the lessons to be learned from case studies 5.7 and 5.8?

DO NOT list out the topics or questions and answer them. They are not meant to be all-inclusive, and your reader will not understand the context. Rather, give an overview of the author’s entire body of work, using the topics as guidelines. Ensure that you meet or exceed the 1200-word target, and that your paper meets APA presentation with no less than 4 peer reviewed sources to include: Gender and Climate Change: An Introduction
