research and consider a”Corporate Social Responsibility” (“CSR”) problem, management help

Assignment 4 is a critical analysis assignment. For this assignment, we are assigning the company W.L. Gore and asking that you think of, research and consider a”Corporate Social Responsibility” (“CSR”) problem or opportunity facing W.L Gore.

Exactly
what corporate social responsibility is, is not 100% clear and is the
subject of some controversy. Some research on this topic at the outset
might help. However, the most common definitions of CSR define CSR as a
responsibility of businesses to behave ethically and contribute to
economic development of the business while also improving the quality of
life of the workforce and their families as well as of the community
and society as a whole. There are some “laissez faire” capitalists who
will say that there’s no such thing as corporate social
responsibility and that the responsibility of a business is to maximize
profits for its shareholder. For our purposes, we’re assuming that there
is at least some level of corporate social responsibility. The extent
to which you think there ought to be such responsibility can (and
probably will anyway) influence your analysis.

First, you will need a research basis for your essay. NPC is providing you with 2 sources to start you off:

1. Innovation: The Classic Traps

Author: Kanter

2. W. L. Gore – Culture of Innovation case

Author: Rao

Both resources can be accessed from the “slides and documents” page for this course on the NPC student website.

You
may find and use any additional academically reliable resources you
like. The NPC virtual library can be used to gather additional research
material. The precise amount of research and the extent to which you use
additional outside sources (other than the above two) is left to your
discretion. A good paper can be written with just the 2 sources above,
but additional sources may be helpful.

Once you’ve done your research, the next step is to write your
paper. The over-all goal of your paper is to present the corporate
social responsibility problem or opportunity. (This can be one you think
of by yourself or one that you read about, though remember that
citations are necessary whenever quoting another source.)

While
there is not necessarily one “best” way to write a critical analysis
paper and you can still earn a good grade with another format, we
strongly suggest the following structure:

• Start
with an Introduction discussing: a brief description of the background
of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) problem or opportunity
facing Starbucks, the stakeholders impacted; what organizational
environments are relevant (external, task, and internal), and the
current situation (the nature and dimension of the problem/opportunity).
Your introduction must end with a specific one-sentence statement of
the management problem/opportunity that your paper will address. The
one-sentence statement is critical because is it frames the rest of your
paper.

Two Alternative Solutions: Each solution must
address the CSR problem/opportunity you stated in your introduction – do
not address a different problem or opportunity than the one stated.
State the solution first, and then explain what the solution involves –
your discussion of a solution should also clarify what specific steps
that W. L. Gore must take and what specific managers should be involved
in the implementation of the solution. Use academically sound sources
(example: scholarly or peer-reviewed articles) to support your solutions
– with quotes and/or paraphrasing.

• An Evaluation: Each alternative solution must be
evaluated separately, using a pro/con structure. Then your evaluation
should explain how the solution is feasible and what aspects of the
implemented solution the organization must monitor to make sure
implementation of the solution stays on track.

• Your Recommendation:
Discuss with well-reasoned arguments why one of your two stated
solutions is the best course of action at this company as compared to
the one you did not choose, and support your choice with academically
sound sources.

• A list of References must be
attached, as a separate page to the critical analysis paper. The
Reference list should be APA formatted (as an alternative, MLA or
Chicago style formatting is also acceptable). If you are unfamiliar with
these citation styles, the Purdue Online Writing Lab can be of great
help. https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/

Length: The minimum length is 750 words. There is no maximum length. The exact length is left to your discretion.

Please
review the Sample Critical Analysis Paper with comments (accessible
from the slides and documents page) to get a visual picture of how your
paper should be structured.

CRM Implementation

Question 1

In your role as Director of Operations, your communication skills are essential to project completion. Your organization is cross-functional; thus, you communicate directly with many department heads that require you to formulate collaborative solutions to complex problems. Your organization has strategic initiatives that rely heavily on business intelligence, technology, and connectivity between departments. Please develop a 6 page APA-formatted paper that investigates and provides detailed analyses of the following topics:

● Management Information Systems in terms of sustaining a cross-functional organization

● The use and implementation of BI in terms of decision-making

● CRM and its use and implementation in terms of a sustainable competitive advantage

● Social Media in terms of competing on the global-stage

Use in text citation that matches peer reviewed articles minimum of 5

Question 2

research one (1) peer-reviewed article that can be used to answer question 1 above . Your discussion should summarize the article in such a way that it can justify any arguments you may present in your question 1 assignment and should be different than the abstract. In addition to your researched peer-reviewed article, you must include an example of the article researched as it is applied by industry (company, business entity, etc.).

Your summary MUST include ALL of the following (include every item in the bullet list

  • Clearly state what the article is about and its purpose
  • How the article and/or author(s) support your argument(s)
  • Most important aspects of the article
  • Any findings and conclusions
  • Approximately 300 to 400 words in length
  • Include the article “Abstract” in your posting (your summary should be original)
  • Include the industry example demonstrating the application of your researched article

Understanding Social, Environmental, and Economic Impacts of Sustainability

Understanding Social, Environmental, and Economic Impacts of Sustainability (100 points)

Review the article by Joselow (2019) in your required readings. For this assignment, describe the potential impacts this situation may have on Volkswagen. Analyze how this may affect their total value proposition from a sustainability perspective. Include a discussion of non-use values for the business’s green products. How should the business improve its focus on Willingness to Pay (WTP) and Willing to Accept (WTA), or consumer surplus? What are your recommendations for improvements?

Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 4-5 pages in length, which does not include the title page, abstract, or required reference page, which are never a part of the minimum content requirements.
  • Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.

Cumulative Paper, total rewards

design a total rewards program that incorporates monetary,

non-monetary, and environmental elements in order to ensure

organizational success

In this final assignment, you will design or revise a total rewards program based on the organization you have used for assignments one and two. Apple inc.

Before creating the proposal for the
changes to the total rewards program in this paper, you will have
conducted research about the organizational goals, objectives, and
challenges of the organization. In addition, you will have obtained
information about the current monetary and non-monetary rewards and work
environment of the organization and the challenges or changes (such as
expansions, downsizing, changes of services or products) the
organization anticipates. These items were presented in your first
presentation. You also designed metrics to evaluate the total rewards
program. These were presented in your second assignment.

In this cumulative paper, you will
provide the research findings in a paper of approximately 10 pages plus a
title page and a reference page. Ten pages is just a suggestion – use
what you need to express your thoughts. Provide at least eight
sources (in APA format) in a reference list with the respective in-text
citations in the paper’s content. At least 5 of these sources must be
from course materials.
Please be sure to use topic headings and include the following:

1. Provide a Title Page in Academic Format

2. Give the Introduction and Purpose for the Paper

3. Summarize and describe the
organization, including its capabilities, key goals, objectives,
challenges, values, and core competencies required for success.

4. Demonstrate your knowledge of the total rewards model by describing the
current total rewards philosophy of the organization and its three
categories of offerings (monetary, non-monetary, and the work
experience/environment).

5. Identify and describe the segmentation
of the workforce (drawing up our study of how to differentiate employee
groups depending on their drivers, such as flexible schedules, growth
potential, desire for demonstrating individual expertise or team
success, low obligation and easy income, or high obligation and high
income). Recall that you did this in one of our weekly discussions.

6. Describe further
the current requisite capabilities of the organization (what the
organization does best) and the employee competencies (knowledge,
skills, and abilities) of the employees and, in your opinion, an analysis of whether the current needs will change given the issues faced by the organization.

7. Recommend changes
to the total rewards program, along with specific plans, including
plans for communicating the changes and metrics that should be used by
the organization to evaluate the success of the new program. Changes
MUST be proposed. Stating that nothing needs to be changed is not
acceptable.

8. Present the justification for your recommendations to change the total rewards for the organization.

9. Assess and discuss the risks of not implementing the program and the opportunities the program will give the organization.

10. Provide your
metrics for evaluating the total rewards program and share why you chose
the ones you did. Recall that the metrics must directly evaluate the
total rewards program and should not be indirect or general measurements
such as turnover, customer satisfaction, or employee satisfaction. Be
sure to look back at any feedback given to your second assignment for
the course.

11. Describe your conclusions and a summary of knowledge gained about total rewards through the activity.

13. Reference Page (with

at least eight scholarly sources). At least 5 of those would be from

course materials. Recall that references are to match your in-text

citations and are to be listed in alphabetical order.

At least eight
sources (in APA format) in a reference list with the respective in-text
citations in the paper’s content. At least 5 of these sources must be
from course materials.
Please be sure to use topic headings.

Assessing for Emotional Intelligence

Competence, technical skills, integrity and determination are
traits most people would agree are important for leadership. But what
about self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social
skills? Daniel Goleman, author of numerous books and articles on
emotional intelligence, including his seminal work Emotional Intelligence
(1995), believes these “softer skill” traits, which are associated with
emotional intelligence (EI), are equally important for leaders. In
fact, some would argue that emotional intelligence, as opposed to
cognitive ability, is the key to successful leadership performance.

Analyze
the use of assessments of emotional intelligence in evaluating the
potential of individuals for senior leadership positions. Then, select
three specific assessments of emotional intelligence (do not
select the EISA). Review and evaluate each assessment instrument. In a
paper of at least 1650 – 1900 words (5 pages) in length (excluding
title, abstract, and reference pages), address the following:

  1. Discuss the concept of EI and its evolution as a factor associated
with leadership performance. How do researchers classify EI—as a
distinct component of intelligence or as a set of personality or
behavioral characteristics? Why is this classification important when
considering the use of assessments of EI for senior leadership?
  2. Debate the idea that EI is as critical, or perhaps more critical,
than cognitive ability in determining leadership success. Compare and
contrast views of researchers on this issue.
  3. For each of the three different assessments of emotional
intelligence you have selected, describe the theoretical framework upon
which each assessment is based, the typical uses for each assessment,
and the target population(s) for each assessment.
  4. Discuss each instrument’s reliability and validity, as well as
administration considerations and costs to either the user or to the
    organization administering the assessment.
  5. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using each assessment
for its intended purpose. Under what circumstances would you recommend
its use? When would you NOT recommend its use and why?

Support your analysis and discussion with at least three journal articles,
in addition to references to required course readings (textbook and
articles), and any Internet sites you reference to gather information
about the assessments you have chosen.

critical thinking by playing the “Believing Game.”, Writing Assignment Homework help

Conflicting Viewpoints Essay – Part I
When looking for information about a particular issue, how often do you try to resist biases toward your own point of view? This assignment asks you to engage in this aspect of critical thinking by playing the “Believing Game.” The Believing Game is about making the effort to “believe” – or at least consider – the reasons for an opposing view on an issue.

The assignment is divided into two (2) parts.
In Part I of the assignment (due Week 2), you will first read a book excerpt about critical thinking processes: “The Believing Game and How to Make Conflicting Opinions More Fruitful” at http://www.procon.org/sourcefiles/believinggame.pdf. Next, you will review the Procon.org Website in order to gather information. Then, you will engage in prewriting to examine your thoughts.
Note: In Part II of the assignment (due Week 4), you will write an essay geared towards synthesizing your ideas.

Part I – Prewriting: Follow the instructions below for this prewriting activity.  Use complete sentences and adhere to standard rules of English grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and spelling.
1. Select one (1) of the approved topics from the www.procon.org Website and state your position on the issue.
2. From the Procon.org Website, identify three (3) premises (reasons) listed under either the Pro or Con section – whichever section opposesyour position.
3.For each of the three (3) premises (reasons) that oppose your position on the issue, answer these “believing” questions suggested by Elbow:

  1. What’s interesting or helpful about this view?
  2. What would I notice if I believed this view?
  3. In what sense or under what conditions might this idea be true?”

The paper should follow guidelines for clear and organized writing:

  • Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph.
  • Address main ideas in body paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences.
  • Adhere to standard rules of English grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and spelling.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA Style format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Identify the informal fallacies, assumptions, and biases involved in manipulative appeals and abuses of language.
  • Create written work utilizing the concepts of critical thinking.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in critical thinking skills and informal logic.

Biomedical Example Paper

Health_Care_Ethics_6e_Ch01 (1).pdf

MUST BE DONE BY 2AM EST TODAY

Resource: Ch. 1 of Health Care Ethics (6th ed.)

Mickey Mantle received a liver transplant in 1995. He was a Baseball Hall of Fame center fielder for the New York Yankees whose liver was failing because of cirrhosis and hepatitis. Although the waiting period for a liver transplant in the United States is about 130 days, it took only two days for the Baylor Medical Center’s transplant team to find an organ donor for the 63-year-old former baseball hero.

According to the director of the Southwest Organ Bank, Mantle was moved ahead of others on the list because of his deteriorating medical condition; however, there were mixed feelings about speeding up the process for a celebrity. Mantle was known for overcoming immense obstacles, and many argued that the medical system should provide exceptions for heroes. He was also a recovering alcoholic, which further complicated the ethical implications of the case. Because of Mantle’s medical problems, doctors estimated that he had only a 60 percent chance for a three-year survival; whereas, liver transplant patients typically have about a 78 percent chance for a three-year survival rate.

As in the case of the liver transplant for Mickey Mantle, should the system make exceptions for real heroes? Why or why not?

Write a 1000-word paper in which you analyze the Mickey Mantle case using the Seven-Step Decision Model.

Compose an eight bar melody with harmony, beginning on the tonic (I or i) chord and ending with a dominant chord (V or V7) returning to the tonic chord.

Compose an eight bar melody with harmony, beginning on the tonic (I or i) chord and ending with a dominant chord (V or V7) returning to the tonic chord. All chords that you use should be in the same key. While some styles of music certainly have more than one chord per bar, limit yourself to one chord per bar. You may repeat chords from bar to bar, so you do not have to change the harmony every bar. Write your work on the grand staff, using the treble clef for the melody and the bass clef for the chords or bass line. Include a time signature. Label the chords with chord names and Roman numerals. You can do this in noteflight or simply write out bar-by bar labels. (Example: Bars 1-2, C Maj, I; bar 3, F maj, IV.) Write a brief paragraph – just a few sentences or bullet points – reflecting on how your composition reflects what you learned in MUS 100, and post it with your composition. The triads and seventh chords that you use should all be complete, having the root, third and fifth (and seventh, if applicable) present. Instead of writing out full chords in the lower part, you may use a bass line that uses a single note at a time. If you use non-chord tones, circle them (or list them in your reflection comments) and resolve them properly. Except for anticipations, resolve non-chord tones (NCT) by stepwise motion.
