4 parts customer service

PART ONE

Amazon.com is the largest Internet-based retailer in the United States. One of the most important factors in Amazon’s success has been its outstanding leadership.

For this assignment, research the leadership culture of Amazon to gain insights into how it shapes the customer service environment that is created within the company. After completing your research, write a 1-2 page paper that does the following:

  • Identify Amazon’s leadership principles.
  • Explain how the president of Amazon has provided leadership in customer service at Amazon. Provide an example.
  • Provide your analysis of why the leadership philosophy at Amazon is so successful and how it influences the level of customer service provided by their site.

Your submitted assignment should be proofread for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

PART TWO

If having high quality customer service were easy, it would be more common. Some companies advertise that they offer strong customer service, but in reality, it does not exist. Other companies such as Amazon, Zappos, and Nordstrom have built outstanding reputations for exceeding customers’ expectations.

For your course project, provide a 2-page analysis of AMAZONS customer service strengths and weaknesses. ( other assingments attched below)

Include the following:

Strengths

  • What does the company do best in providing customer service?
  • What are characteristics of its customer service that provide a distinct advantage over the competition?
  • How does it exceed customers’ expectations? Provide an example.

Weaknesses

  • What does the company’s customer service lack? What can it improve?
  • Explain a strategy to make these improvements.

Provide a conclusion summarizing the company’s key strengths and weaknesses. Also, provide your opinion of the company’s overall customer service quality.

PART THREE

Zappos is a company that is known for its unique organizational culture and commitment to delivering a memorable customer experience. For this assignment, research Zappos to learn what makes its company culture and service so different from other companies.

In a 1-2 page paper, describe the characteristics of the Zappos culture and explain how the employees provide excellent service to customers. Identify one example that demonstrates how Zappos empowers its employees to deliver great customer service.

Your submitted assignment should be proofread for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

PART FOUR 150+ words

Imagine that you are a manager in charge of putting together a new team of customer service representatives for your department. Describe the characteristics and qualities that you would look for in your people, and explain why they are important. In addition, what would you do as the manager to develop your team and provide a positive work environment for them?

Found Money Assignment 3

See attached file and need help in answering questions.

Find the opinion of the Oregon Court of Appeals in the 2008 case of Helen Sollars (aka Helen Kelly) and Estate of Helene Valoff v. City of Milwaukie, and answer the following questions about the case. Please number your answers and, for the sake of clarity, refer to the parties as “the Seller”, “the Buyer”, and “the City”; avoid using names or “plaintiff” or “defendant” to identify the parties.

  1. The case caption says that Helen Sollars (aka Helen Kelly) and the Estate of Helene Valoff are the plaintiffs in the case and that the City of Milwaukie is the Defendant. Why is the City of Milwaukie a party in the case? Why did the City of Milwaukie fail to appear (file any documents with) the Court of Appeals? This answer should take you only a few sentences.
  2. Compare this case with the “Ohio treasure trove case”. If the link is not working, you will find that article in the Chapter 1 Illustrative Articles. (Note: If you find yourself looking at a tax case, you are not looking in the right place!)
    1. What were the legal issues that were at the core of the treasure trove case?
    2. Are the legal issues that the Sollars case is based upon the same as those presented by the treasure trove case? If not, how are they different?

This answer will take a couple of paragraphs.

3. What were the conflicting arguments of the buyer and the estate in the Sollars case about the language of the contract? (Please use legal terminology.) Again, a couple of well-thought out paragraphs should be sufficient

4. Do you feel that the language of the contract was unambiguous? If so, what do you think the clear meaning of the contract was? In other words, do you think the Court of Appeals or the trial court was right? (Remember that the Supreme Court hasn’t yet ruled on this, so we don’t yet have the Last Word on the matter and you can’t say that “the Oregon Court of Appeals was right because it had the last word.”) If you feel that the language was ambiguous, what are the potential meanings you see, and which one do you feel the court should have applied? Why? A couple of paragraphs should be okay.

5. Rewrite the “personal property” provision of the contract to make it clearer in regard to unknown property on the premises. (Note: Don’t tell me what your provision would be intended to do: write the provision!) Can you see any problems that might arise from including your language in all contracts for the sale and purchase of residential real estate?

Case Study- Theories of Organizational Change

Read “The ASDA Way of Working” at the end of Chapter 1 of your textbook.

Read at least two scholarly articles that address theories of organizational change.

Write a paper of approximately 750 words that answers the following questions:

  • What trigger events are driving the need for organizational change at ASDA? Characterize each trigger as internal or external.
  • What role will each of the following facets of change play in the strategy and implementation of change for the company?
    • Turnaround
    • Tools and Techniques
    • Transformation
  • What specific resistance to the change implementation could management expect to see from employees?
  • Describe one or more specific actions management can take to encourage employee participation in the change.

Instructional Design Dilemma

Conducting Research
A peer reviewed journal or article is an article or journal that has been reviewed by experts in the field and deemed to be worth reading by other professionals. Typically this is an extensive process in which reviewers are carefully vetted for expertise and professional experience. In this assignment, you will have an opportunity to examine a peer reviewed article and apply what you have learned to a professional scenario or activity.

Please refer to the following tutorials for guidance on conducting scholarly research:

Activity:
Imagine you are the lead for a team of 10 remote employees in an organization. [Note: The organization might be an institution of higher education, a PK-12 school, a corporate initiative, or even a military group. The choice is yours; as you consider this dilemma however, keep the employee/learner audience you have selected in mind!] The 10 employees live across the United States and are therefore in different time zones. There is no budget to bring everyone together physically in the same location. The dilemma is that you need to quickly train your team of 10 on new policies and procedures for your organization about taking leave time. You also need to train everyone how to use the scheduling system for leave time. A few of the employees suggest a meeting with the group using a webinar. Pat, one of your employees, recommends Adobe Connect. Ryan, another employee suggests Blackboard Collaborate. However, you are thinking of free options, such as Skype or similar free software for synchronous interaction given your budgetary restrictions. To prepare for your decision, you decide to review literature about synchronous e-learning.

STEP 1: Review Synchronous Learning Literature
Pat sends you Hrastinski’s (2008) article about asynchronous and synchronous e-learning online and Ryan sends you the McBrien, Jones, and Cheng’s (2009) article on employing synchronous online classrooms for student engagement:

Although the articles are helpful, you decide you need more current literature about synchronous learning. Therefore, you decide to go to your favorite library (i.e., the Ashford University Library!) to research more current articles about training with synchronous tools.

After reading the articles from Hrastinski (2008) and McBrien, et al (2009), linked above, use to locate at least one more scholarly article about use of synchronous tools for E-Learning and instructional design. The article needs to come from a peer reviewed source (e.g., Journal) and be a full-text article.

  • Tip: Suggested search keywords are “synchronous learning,” “elearning tools,” “synchronous instructional design.”. You should then use this article(s) to support your response in the weekly discussion. Please specify the database where you located the article(s) as part of your APA citation.

STEP 2: Research Specific Tools
Review the following product pages for the three products you are considering to gain more familiarity with each tool in terms of options and pricing. As you review each product, consider how you might design the training for your team of 10 and what features you will want to incorporate based on the literature about designing for synchronous learning you reviewed in Step 1.

STEP 3: Write a Response to the Dilemma
Construct a response (e.g., Letter, Email, Video) to your team addressing the suggestions made for webinar training and the tools you’ve considered. The letter must explain your thoughts on the use of a synchronous learning as an eLearning tool and discuss specific trends and issues with instructional design in relation to using synchronous learning. Support your discussion in the response by synthesizing and referring to the literature you reviewed. For the citation of the article you selected, please be sure to include the database where you retrieved the article. If you select a video option, a transcript or closed captioning is required.

Water use and cost, 3 page, 2 scholarly sources, APA style

Lab Exercise: Water Use (20 points)

Lab details
Locate a dripping water faucet (or set a faucet to drip). Collect the water that drips from the faucet over a selected period of time (in a container sufficient to hold the water). Calculate the amount of water (in gallons) lost per unit time. Calculate how much water would be lost in one year from this drip.

  1. Determine the cost of water per thousand gallons of water (from local water board or a water bill). Calculate the cost of the drip per year from the information you have.
  2. Determine the amount and cost of the water you use in taking your shower regularly. You will need to set the shower faucet as you normally do. Record the time in minutes it takes you to shower, determine the amount of water used (by catching it and measuring it somehow) in one minute, and then calculate the gallons used, the cost per shower, and the cost year using the procedure outlined above for the dripping faucet.
  3. Next, you are to compare the amount of water used by taking your regular shower vs. the amount of water consumed in taking a “military shower” (alternately turn the water off and on to save as much water as you can).
  4. Calculate the savings of water and cost for one year to take your regular shower vs. a military shower.
  5. Calculate the flow rate of your kitchen sink per minute. Estimate how many minutes the faucet might be on over the course of one day. How much water would you estimate goes straight from tap to drain?
  6. How many toilets are in your home? Are any of them low-flow toilets? Suggest a way to make a low-flow toilet out of a regular-flow toilet.
  7. Identify at least three ways in which you can decrease water use anywhere in the home.
  8. Assuming a use of 10,000 gallons per month per household, estimate how much water must be available to support your local town population?
  9. What is the source(s) of your local water supply?
  10. Are there any pollution issues with this water source?

Deliverables:
You will submit a properly formatted paper for this lab. Please submit a discussion of your experience with this activity including a description of the data that you gathered, all of the calculations that you performed and answers to the questions. Please include a data log or table of all of the data that you collected and include all calculations.

Your paper should meet the following requirements:
