Event Reflection

A “reflection” is, “personal response to an experience, situation, event, or new information.”* For your writing assignment, I’m asking you to attend an event on or off campus ( in Pittsburgh City ) and write a personal reflection about that experience. This should be an event (museum visit, art opening, lecture, musical performance, or cultural event) that you’ve never visited or experienced before.In your paper, describe the event and write about what you experienced. Please be detailed. You should start the paper with an introduction (which should include a statement of where you went) and a conclusion. I’d personally recommend the Carnegie Museum of Art, Phipps Conservatory, Banjo Night, or Pittsburgh Light Up Night as really good Pittsburgh-related options. Finally, You should use the paper to answer most of the following questions:

  • What did you do?
  • What did you like or dislike?
  • What did you learn?
  • Did the event/activity/visit challenge you in any way?
  • What made you uncomfortable (if anything)?
  • What did you learn about yourself?
