Students will select a United States Congressional Standing Committee and research the activity surrounding that committee.

Papers should be (8-10) pages in length and must contain in-text citations. Specific details for the paper will be posted in the course.

Develop a comprehensive research paper on the committee by discussing the following:

• Critique and analyze the committee in relation to class material the major theories discussed in class.
• Explore the historical aspect of the committee.
• What is the main purpose of the committee?
• Explore any key sub-committees.
• Discuss the membership & leadership.
• What key issues is the committee currently working on?
• What hearings were scheduled?

  • What was the outcome?
