?? EXERCISE 213.1 (Electoral competition with strategic voters) Consider the variant of the game in this section in which (i) the set of possible positions is the set of

numbers x with 0 ≤ x ≤ 1, (ii) the favorite position of at least one citizen is 0

and the favorite position of at least one citizen is 1, and (iii) each citizen’s pref- erences are represented by a payoff function that assigns to each terminal history the distance from the citizen’s favorite position to the position of the candidate in the set of winners whose position is furthest from her favorite position. Under the other assumptions of the previous exercise, show that in every subgame perfect equilibrium in which no citizen’s action is weakly dominated, the position chosen by every candidate who enters is the median of the citizens’ favorite positions. To do so, first show that in any equilibrium each candidate that enters is in the set   of winners. Then show that in any Nash equilibrium of any voting subgame in which there are more than two candidates and not all candidates’ positions are the same, some candidate loses. (Argue that if all candidates tie for first place, some citizen can increase her payoff by changing her vote.) Finally, show that in any subgame perfect equilibrium in which either only two candidates enter, or all can- didates who enter choose the same position, every entering candidates chooses the median of the citizens’ favorite positions.

The one-stage deviation principle for subgame perfect equilibria Recall that ui(σ | x) is the payoff to player i when the players implement the strategy vector σ, given that the play of the game has arrived at the vertex x. Prove that a strategy vector σ∗ = ()i∈N in an extensive-form game with perfect information is a subgame perfect equilibrium if and only if for each player i ∈ N, every decision vertex x, and every strategy  of player i that is identical to  at every one of his decision vertices except for x,

Guidance: To prove that σ ∗ is a subgame perfect equilibrium if the condition above obtains, one needs to prove that the condition ui(σ∗ | x) ≥ ui((σi, σ ∗ −i) | x) holds for every vertex x, every player i, and every strategy σi. This can be accomplished by induction on the number of vertices in the game tree as follows. Suppose that this condition does not hold. Among all the triples (x, i, σi) for which it does not hold, choose a triple such that the number of vertices where σi differs from σ∗i is minimal. Denote by X the set of all vertices such that σi differs from σ∗ i. By assumption, |X| ≥ 1. From the vertices in X, choose a “highest” vertex, i.e., a vertex such that every path from the root to it does not pass through any other vertex in X. Apply the inductive hypothesis to all the subgames beginning at the other vertices in X .

• 1 Have you chosen an MNC from an Emerging market? 2. Which theoretical framework are you going to use to analyse the firm and country level factors? Make this clear 3. Have you used point 2 above to analyse your chosen organization and country that it's from? 4. Have you sought out peer reviewed research articles such as these to help build your understanding and arguments? Chan, P., Finnegan, C. and Sternquist, B., 2011. Country and firm level factors in international retail expansion. European Journal of Marketing, 45(6), pp.1005-1022. Dunning, J.H., 1980. Towards an eclectic theory of international production: some empirical tests. Journal of international business studies, 11(1), pp.9-31. 5. Have you thought critically about the theory, organization and country in your discussion? What are some of the challenges for MNC's from emerging markets going international? What are the limitations to your chosen analytical framework? 6. Have you clearly outlined the interplay between the firm and country-level factors, as outlined in the topic statement? 7. Have you presented a synthesis of your arguments? In other words, answer the 'so what does this all mean' question towards the end of your assignment. As future international managers, you need to be able to demonstrate what you have learnt from undertaking this learning exercise. What are the implications for IB managers? 8. Have you proof-read your work from a language and referencing point of view?

reasarch paper 1

This paper is focusing on how you can make best use of your personality traits as a leader in Human Resources. Which leadership style(s) would best fit your personality. And what would likely be the most challenging adjustments for you to make in your leadership style when a situation requires a different style, given your particular personality traits?

Attached is the rubic, please read it carefully before you start to write. Thanks.

compare and contrast the major differences in the slave trade on the continent of Africa and the trans-Atlantic slave trade from the perspectives of the African slaver and the European slaver. Analyze the degree to which the misconceptions about the origins of the African people influenced European captors’ perception of their product. Support your response with specific examples of the impact of the Middle Passage on the captives’ experience.

answer child development questions

This will require you to reflect on the classroom discussions and articles that we have covered in class. Please answer the following questions in thoughtful reflection about how these ideas have influenced your teaching practices (present and future).

Make sure all answers are accurate and at least 100 words. No plagiarism is acceptable.

1) We began our course with a beautiful verse about “Children Are Miracles”. by Anita Rui Olds . This message reminds us to always respect and honor the position we have with young children and their families. We are encouraged to believe that our children deserve so much more than just “minimums”. “Our children” being those in our classrooms and those in our lives. Please write about how this beginning has impacted your planning and interaction with children.

2) A very powerful article about “How Institutional Are You” made us take a closer look at how we plan our day with children and the rules we instill upon them. It is a good practice to keep asking ourselves the “why” of rules that we have in our classroom. What is the purpose of that rule? Are we doing it because “that’s the way we always have done it”? We should ask, Is it really necessary? Who does it benefit? Do we have this rule just to make things easy? Please write about a rule or practice that you reconsidered after discussing this article.

3) Some children spend most of their days in our care. We invite children into a space that we share with them. There are many things we can do to make the child feel that this wonderful place of discovery is theirs, and that they are welcome. Please write about what changes you can make in your environment that will make children feel like they belong here.

4)The article “Consider the Walls” addressed the issue of refraining from “Cute, cartoonish” decorations for the classroom. It strongly suggested using the space in your room (walls) to provide documentation of learning and reflecting children’s lives. Please write your thoughts on this concept. Did it make you look at your bulletin boards in a different way? Why or why not?
