writing a lab report 5

I have the data and the lab manual

Blood Pressure Lab Write-up

:

Produce a lab report for the body position activity of the Blood Pressure lab. You do not

need to address the other parts of the experiment. I am providing you an outline, but

your report should be in nonnumeric, paragraph form.

The data you need for the report is found in an Excel file posted on Canvas. The data

includes sitting (resting) and recumbent data of heart rate and blood pressure. The

subjects also reported their sex and age (decade, not specific year).

1. Write an Introduction Section (3 or 4 paragraphs). A brief overview of blood pressure

should be included in this section. Don’t forget to include a citation when you provide

information which is not common knowledge. For example, your text (Silverthorn,

2019), lab manual (Caldwell, Didomenico, Shearer, & Botten, 2019), or another

reasonable source. Make sure to include brief explanations of the physiology underlying

the measurement of blood pressure and how to interpret the blood pressure reading. State

the hypotheses or predictions.

2. Methods. Write 2-3 paragraphs which give an overview of how you did your experiment.

Cite our lab manual (Caldwell, Didomenico, Shearer, & Botten, 2019), and then

concisely summarize how the data was collected.

Write a paragraph describing your test subjects. How are they similar and how are they

different?

Write a paragraph which gives a general overview of how you used the methods and

baseline data to study the effects of changes in body position on blood pressure and heart

rate. What is the independent variable of this experiment? The dependent variable?

3.

Results. Include at least one graph and a summary table. Each table and graph should

have descriptive titles.

Make sure you submit a summary table, not a restatement of raw data. I smile when I see

calculated measures of central tendency (mean and median) and some measure of spread.

Excel can do most of those calculations for you.

Your graph should show blood pressure class averages for each body position. You do

not need a narrative in this section for this lab report.

4.

Summary (4-5 paragraphs) Explain your data by using information you introduced in

your introduction. Make sure to demonstrate you understand the underlying physiology

explaining why blood pressure changes in response to changes in body position. Refer to

your table and graph and point out any important data. If your results did not match your

Q1:

1. How would you use GROUPING SETS to produce the same results as the following GROUP BY CUBE?

SELECT state, productID, SUM(volume) FROM sales GROUP BY CUBE (state, productID) ORDER BY state, productID

2. How would you show the sub totals for each week, for each state, and for each product? (No other totals or grand totals are required.) Suppose the table structure is

TABLE sales (productID VARCHAR, state CHAR(2), week DATE, volume INT)

3. Discuss the utility of grouping and group_id functions

Q2: Describe below how this code will work:

SELECT dt, region, revenue,
count(*) OVER (twdw) AS moving_count,
avg(revenue) OVER (twdw) AS moving_average
FROM moving_average_data mad
WINDOW twdw AS (PARTITION BY region
ORDER BY dt RANGE BETWEEN
‘7 days’::interval PRECEDING AND
‘0 days’::interval FOLLOWING
ORDER BY region, dt

shford 6: – Week 5 – Assignment

A Case for Problem-Based Learning

For this assignment, you need to assume the role of a classroom educator. This can be based on a class that you are currently teaching, one that you have previously taught, or one that you hope to teach in the future. Suppose you are participating in a department team meeting with the other teachers in your grade level. You are having a discussion about an upcoming unit. One of the teachers indicates that she plans to distribute the same packets she used last year and schedule five days of independent seat work for her students to complete the packets by locating answers in the course textbook. This would be followed by a written exam over the material in the packets.

You have been aware for some time that the students in this teacher’s class are frustrated, bored, and worst of all, not really learning anything important about the content as shown through the student data. This could be your opportunity to get her to try something new and more valuable to students. You explain to this teacher that you plan to implement a week-long problem-based learning experience for your students, involving group projects, computer time, and class presentations; you would like to share this plan with her and to partner together on the project. She is apprehensive because it sounds like a lot of work, but you assure her that you have the entire experience planned well.

In this assignment, you will apply principles of problem-based learning to the design of a specific learning experience within a culturally relevant and collaborative learning experience that facilitates the 21st century skills of creativity and innovation. Review the Week Five Instructor Guidance for detailed assistance on preparing for and completing this assignment, including access to resources that will help you identify the characteristics of problem-based learning environments. Next, create your assignment to meet the content and written communication expectations below.

Content Expectations Plan (9 points): Create a general plan for a problem-based and      project-based learning (PBL2) experience that includes the following six      components: Overview of the general problem you will establish       related to the topic, including the following:  A brief description of the grade, subject, and        demographics of the class. An overview of how student groups will be assigned        and monitored.  A description of the project that will need to be        developed by the group and presented to the class. Common characteristics of problem-based learning,        addressing an open-ended problem posed to each learning group (see        guidance). A description of how the creativity and innovation       with 21st century skills are learned and/or specifically applied within       the project. A description of how culturally relevant strategies       are included/applied within the project.

Written Communication Expectations Page Requirement (.25 points): Submit three to five pages, not including the title      and reference pages. APA Formatting (.25 points): Format your paper according to APA style as outlined      in the Ashford Writing Center. Syntax and Mechanics (.25      points): Display meticulous      comprehension and organization of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling      and grammar. Source Requirement (.25      points): Reference at least two      scholarly sources. All sources on the references page need to be used and      cited correctly within the body of the assignment.

Next Steps: Review and Submit the Assignment

Review your assignment with the Grading Rubric to ensure you have achieved the distinguished levels of performance for each criterion. Next, submit the assignment for evaluation no later than Day 7.

ECO 365 Week 4 Discussion Question 2

What effect do government intervention, taxation, and regulations have on economic behavior? Explain.
What are real-world examples of government intervention, taxation, and regulations? What are the goals of each?

Introducing Communication Research

What are the ethical implications in writing a literature review or a research report? Explain your response by illustrating specific examples.

Suppose you were seeking credible information on a surgical procedure a close friend is going through. Where would you look for information, why would you look there, and on what basis would you decide that the information was credible?

7-1-2

Your third longer-term assignment in this course is a presentation or short paper in which you will share your question derived at the end of your observation journal in learning block 4-3 and discuss why it is important and how developments in the social sciences contribute to our understanding of ourselves, each other, and the world around us. This final reflection will assess the following course outcomes, which you focused on throughout the fourth theme (Weeks 7 and 8):  Investigate major developments in the progression of social scientific thought for informing critical questions that drive social scientific inquiry  Articulate the value of the social sciences for their impact on contemporary issues Prompt Your third project is a presentation or short paper (you are free to choose) that explores the question you posed at the end of your observation journal. With that question as your topic, you will explain why the answer to it is important to understanding yourself, other people, and the world around you and how the social sciences have developed to help us answer these important questions. The critical elements of this assessment will be evaluated by the information in your presentation or paper. Be sure your actual question is apparent on the presentation or paper. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed in your submission: I. Explain why your question is important to you as a member of society. II. Detail the major developments in social science thinking that drive questions regarding studying the individual. Use course resources to back up your discussion. III. Explain how finding the answer to your question might impact others around you. For instance, who might be most invested in the answer? IV. Detail the major developments in social science thinking that drive questions regarding studying others. Use course resources to back up your discussion. V. Explain why studying human behavior and identity is a valuable human endeavor. VI. Detail the major developments in social science thinking that support the study and advancement of the social sciences as necessary and valuable. Use course resources to back up your discussion. Supporting Work and Resources Throughout the fourth theme of this course, there are supports you will use as you work directly on different elements of the final reflection. 1. In learning block 2-7, you submitted your observation journal. Review your submission and the feedback for this assignment via the Project 2 submission link in the My Grades section of the course. Use the question you created from your observation journal for your final reflection. You are free to incorporate any feedback from your instructor on this question into your final reflection. 2. In learning block 6-3, you submitted a micro-presentation or short answer response to give you an opportunity to practice elements of the final submission. For this assignment, you reflected on what you considered to be some of the most significant developments covered in the third theme of this course and addressed the following: a. Identify the developments and how they impact individuals or larger groups/cultures. b. Describe how the developments changed society’s understanding. How is the development applicable outside of the social sciences? View this submission and the feedback for this assignment via the My Grades section of the course and incorporate this assignment into your final reflection. 3. If you choose to submit a presentation instead of a paper, you may use PowerPoint, Prezi, or another presentation platform of your choosing. Reference the Supporting Resources document for instructions on how to use different presentation programs. Be sure to include notes as needed in your presentation in order to meet the outlined critical elements. 4. In learning block 7-1, it was suggested for you to work on Section III of your project.
