What kinds of boundaries, both literal and symbolic, do the Crafts cross in the course of their escape? Which boundaries do they seem to have the most difficulty crossing?

It has been argued that cross-dressing is frequently a sign of “category crisis” in a manuscript. That is, it points to the hypocrisy of other socially constructed categories such as race, class, or sexuality. What categories besides gender are “in crisis” in the Crafts’ narrative? What kinds of challenges does her “masculine” role create for William as both her husband and the narrator of their story?

Cross-dressing was a popular design in early national literature; how do these acts of disguise take on different meanings over time? How do they challenge our assumptions about race and gender?

Technical Paper: Object-oriented Programming (OOP) / Event-Driven Programming (EDP) versus Procedural Programming (PP)
Due Week 10 and worth 140 points

Use the Internet or Strayer databases to research the advantages, features, and common examples of OOP and EDP. Note: You may use the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library to support research on the above topics. Instructions detailing the necessary steps to access the ACM Digital Library are located at the end of the Course Guide.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

1. Identify at least two (2) advantages to using OOP as compared to using only PP.
2. Create one (1) original example of a class with at least one (1) attribute and one (1) method. Identify what the class in question represents, the attributes the class stores, and the purpose of the related method. Next, examine the relationship between the class, attributes, and methods that you have identified.
3. Describe at least one (1) feature of object-oriented programming that Visual Logic lacks.
4. Identify at least one (1) advantage to using event-driven programming, as compared to using purely procedural programming.
5. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

For the Unit 3 Assignment, you will craft a 3–4 page expository essay (including a title page and reference page) highlighting how your self-concept and perceptions influence your interpersonal communication. Include the following in your essay:

• Describe self-concept.
• Explain the role self-concept plays in ethical communication.
• Describe your self-concept and whether it is generally positive or negative.
• Explain how you can ethically influence the self-concept of others.
• Explain the difference between self-concept and perception.
• Describe an example of when your self-concept influenced your perceptions of someone. Explain how this impacted your communication with that person. Explain whether this was a positive influence or negative influence and why.
• Explain at least two guidelines for improving perception and communication from the reading that you can apply to your ethical communication skills. Include what are the guidelines, one example of how you would apply a guideline, and why these guidelines help with effective communication.
