The Tidewater Police Department is a small rural department that consists of 22 police officers, 4 detectives, a criminal intelligence analyst and 3 secretaries. The police department has a new Chief of Police that has created and enacted a Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy. About half of the officers have 20+ years of experience and the other half have less than 3 years of experience.

You are a rookie police officer on your first patrol. The older, experienced officer tells you that the restaurant on the corner likes to have the police around, so they always give free meals. There are two questions for this Contract A. The U.S. Court System is a complex system that includes both federal and state-level courts. The federal system includes the judicial branch of the government. This system is designed to help society interpret the U.S. Constitution and provide guidelines for society. Court cases may concern many different topics and have an unlimited number of outcomes.

Write a five to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Summarize the seminal facts of the case that you chose.
  2. Explain the main laws that have been violated in the case that you chose.
  3. Describe the possible penalties that could be associated with the laws that you just described.

1.) During the early part of the Middle Ages, records show that there were more men than women. As a result, women were in demand as wives. The value of women and their status in society increased. Men actually paid high prices to the fathers of girls in order to marry them. But why do you think so many women were treated so poorly by the husbands that wanted to marry them?

2.) What do you think of King Arthur’s Round Table? Do you think something like that, which championed equality and justice, could have existed in the Middle Ages, when hierarchy and status were so important?
