In some minds, this event provided justice for the attacks of 9/11; for others, the fear of threat increased. The discussions from the first web discussion regarding the issue of the brake job and oil change in the first web discussion were interesting. Review the issue again, summarize what you said, and then discuss the issues of quasi-contract and promissory estoppel in this matter. Also, are there any issues of administrative agencies here? Would the Bureau of Automotive Repair have any say in this matter?

Web discussion#1:

Recently a student from XXXcollege brought his car to a repair shop for a brake job. The service writer gave him a written quote of $300 for the repair. The student agreed and signed the quote.

As he was leaving, the student mentioned to one of the mechanics that he needed an oil change.

The next day when the student came to pick up the car the bill was for $330 – $300 for the brake job and $30 for the oil change. The student told the cashier he had not authorized the oil change.

How should this be handled by both parties? What are the risks for both? Make sure you examine both sides of the issue in discussing your answer. Don’t worry about commenting on another student’s post for this one – those won’t be available for this exercise. Just answer as thoroughly as possible.

For this role, the two types of communication skill needed are confidence and listening. These two skills go hand and hand because when a doctor is listening to their patient, the doctor needs to be attentive and able to speak with their patient with confidences to ensure he/she know what they are doing. These two skills are practical for doctors because of being doctor; you need to have all the confidences to ensure the patient you know what you are doing and able to listen to their concerns and educate them on what steps are taken.

outside of a small city (population of 50,000). With five (5) family physicians,
two (2) nurse practitioners, two (2) physicians’ assistants (PAs), and twenty
(20) clinical support staff consisting of RNs, LPNs, and CMAs, the clinic
provides primary care services to a diverse community of people living and
working outside the city limits. Originally a rural area, the community has been
growing and now includes promising opportunities in employment, education, and
comfortable living spaces for young families. However, there are still many
residents who struggle to make ends meet with older farms that have belonged to
families for generations.

The central
city includes two (2) large acute care facilities, and one (1) tertiary care
facility that is known for its excellent pulmonary care. Both acute care
hospitals provide the usual services such as labor and delivery, outpatient
surgery, chronic diseases care, etc. and have fully equipped ancillary
departments, such as lab and radiology. Up until this point, the residents have
used the facilities’ emergency departments for routine illnesses and conditions
when their private physicians were not readily available.
