PLC Exercise and Project Plan

Hello, I can really use some help with this project.

Part One: PLC Exercise

The intent of this assignment is to familiarize you with different PLCs from various industries. Additionally, this assignment will help you develop an in-depth understanding of relationships between project management processes and a PLC.

  • Create a generic PLC and describe its various phases. You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or other software (for example, Microsoft Excel) to create a simple graphic depicting the different phases of a PLC.
  • Discuss the various project management process groups (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing) and explain how they relate to the phases of a PLC.
  • After you have completed the life cycle analysis, discuss the similarities and differences among the life cycles of construction, information technology, and business projects.

Part Two: Final Project: Completed Project Plan and Presentation (Due in Week 5)

The final project flows from Week 1 to Week 5. For the final project, you need to choose a project topic and submit it for your instructor’s approval. The instructor may assign a project scenario if the proposed project topic is not deemed adequate to meet the learning objectives of the course.

After the approval, you will submit specific project deliverables each week. In Week 5, you need to submit a final written plan and a presentation of the project. You are encouraged to use Microsoft Project (or other project management software tools), but its use is not required for this introductory project.

Week 3: Malware and Automated Computer Attacks

The legal code, law enforcement, and anti-malware software will always be at least one step behind cybercriminals.

IP 1: Legal Code and Malware

As malware markets are making it easy to obtain malware and engage in sophisticated attacks, lesser skilled hackers are able to execute attacks with greater reach, damage, and payoffs. Nations have not criminalized the creation of malicious software generally. Should the legal code be amended to reflect this activity? Why and how?

IP 2: The Antivirus Software Industry

The antivirus software industry has grown since the 1990s, but malware continues to evolve and expand. Many popular antivirus software companies are not located in the U.S., but in other countries. Given that antivirus software is capable of reducing infections, not stopping infections entirely, could non-U.S. based companies have agendas that operate against the interests of the U.S.? If so, what steps could the U.S. take to guard against this? If covert agendas are detected, how could the U.S. legally respond to these foreign-based companies?

  • Paragraph 1: Introduction to the assignment/Explain what you will be doing in the assignment
  • Paragraph 2: Discuss/analyze what the food guide suggests for your required daily serving of food. What types of foods could you eat to accomplish those food categories? Compare what the myplate suggests you eat to what you recorded on your 3 day log. Were your results good or could you use improvements (if improvements- what areas were you lacking on?), what could you do to improve your eating habits, and did you watch what you ate because you knew it was being recorded?
  • Paragraph 3: Discuss your exercise habits, looking back at your 3 day log. Do you think you are getting enough exercise for what you are eating? Are you getting at least 30 minutes in a day? What areas are you working to improve with your daily exercise?
  • Paragraph 4: What did you learn about your own diet and exercise by doing this project?
  • Paragraph 5: Conclusion

All written submissions should reflect professionalism in grammar, spelling, writing style/format (one-inch margins, double spaced, typed in 12-point Times New Roman font), include APA 6th citations when appropriate, an appropriate title page, and be uploaded as .doc or .docx documents.

Business Presentation

ORIGINAL THOUGHTS ONLY

NO PLAGIARISM

PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AND ALSO REFER TO THE PAPERS ATTACHED TO WRITE THE PROJECT PRESENTATION*****

Congratulations. Your project has been staffed and you are about to meet with the team for the first time. Initial impressions are important and you’ll need visuals for your presentation. Create a slide show (in PowerPoint or similar software) in which you address the following, in this order: 1. Goals: What the project hopes to accomplish. 2. Critical Success Factors: Identify at least 4 different stakeholders; for each, list at least 2 things that the stakeholder requires in order to deem the project successful. 3. Acquisition strategy: Should the system be built in-house, created by a contractor, purchased offthe-shelf and customized, or leased as a service? Explain your rationale. 4. Resources: For in-house development, what people/skills are required and what development lifecycle do you recommend? Otherwise, identify 3 candidate organizations that can deliver the system. 5. System functions: In a table format, summarize the types of users for the system; the business reason(s) each would use the system; the ways that the system supports each of these needs; and how this support differs from the current system. 6. Connectivity: Provide a diagram that shows how the system will connect to the other information systems and what data flows among them. 7. Security: List the most serious cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities of the new system. Suggest strategies to address them. 8. Mobility: Identify the system’s capabilities for mobile use. Include a title and summary slide. Use one slide for each of the 8 points above. Include speaker notes or audio narration that explains each slide more fully.

Book Review on No Clear And Present Danger

Write a book review on No Clear and Present Danger: A skeptical View Of The United States Entry Into World War II by Bruce M Russett, between 1200-1750 words in length.

Your review should have at least two goals: First, to describe the content of the book, and second, to provide a critical evaluation that gives your thoughts of the book’s quality. Some Points to consider are:

A Just War? It is roundly assumed that World War II was a “just” war (at least for the United States). Was it?

Do wars need to be fought? Who are the beneficiaries? Personally, I believe that stopping the German fascists and the Japanese militarists was a very good thing. But, that is an argument that can only be made in hindsight. Given the circumstances that led to the conflicts with Japan and Germany, what were the real reasons for going to war?

Your introduction should include a thesis statement: What was the book about, and what is your critical opinion. (Hint: When I write, sometimes, I am unclear as to what my thesis is until I have written the the paper. It can work to write (or at least revise) your introduction after the rest of your paper is finished).

Do not spend more than one-third (total) of the paper summarizing the book. The summary should consist of a discussion and highlights of the major arguments, features, trends, concepts, themes, ideas, and characteristics of the book. While you may use direct quotes from the book (make sure you always give the page number), such quotes should never be the bulk of the summary. Much of your grade will depend on how well you describe and explain the material in your own words.

Throughout your paper, interspersed with the summary, I want you to provide a critique of the book. Demonstrate that you know the author’s argument, that you understand the evidence he provides, and discuss why you find the argument compelling (or not).
