Art homework

  1. Review the PowerPoint presentation for Chapter 11. Focus on slides 37-51.
  2. Find on the internet or in the textbook (not from Chap. 11) one earthwork or installation that you find meaningful and would like to explore further. If you chose a work that you are familiar with it’s even better.
  3. Attach the image/s and describe this work as if you were there yourself. Imagine yourself stepping into the space or the place of the earthwork or the installation. How do you think you would feel?
  • If you chose an earthwork – Is it site specific? What is it made of? How is it organized? Is it large or small? Where is it located? Is it easily accessible? Are there many other viewers there usually? In what ways you are invited to explore the place? Are you allowed to touch the work? Do you need to go up or down or is the surface flat? Are you able to explore the space freely or your movement is directed somehow? Is it ephemeral? Who created that work and for what purpose (if known)? Do you think this work can affect your feelings and mood? In what ways?
  • If you chose an installation – What is it made of? How is the space organized? Is it large or small? Busy or calm? Is there music; videos; virtual reality; lights; darkness etc.? Are you invited to explore the space? Being threatened by it? etc. In what ways? Are you able to explore the space freely or your movement is directed somehow? Are you allowed to touch the work? Are you entering the space by yourself or you can be with other viewers at the same time? Is there only one entrance or more? Does the art change as you move through it or around it? Do you think this work can affect your feelings and mood? In what way? What do you think is the meaning and message of this work?

In the first assignment you will either Google the Code of a State of your choice or you can go to MU Library and find the Code of Virginia and access the section of the Code that deals with the licensing of health care professionals.

For example you can Google (“Virginia Code of Health Care Provider” or“California Code of Health Care provider”) When you Google on those cites or the cite of another state, you will find a listing of the various facilities

(Nursing home or hospital) or providers (nurse or Md) that are regulated or require a license to practice.

Review the entire cite you choose and “click on” a few cites (for example under the Va code first one is Law of Health Ins and second is Chap 29 supervision of PA’s) and write a report on one of the cites but also take note of how many cites there are and the number of laws and regulation contained in the State code.

Write a page or page and a half on your findings and cite where you found the information.

Meditation, psychology homework help

Using annotated bibliography and references as a guide, write a rough draft of your Psychology Research Paper.

Your
paper must be 3 pages in length, not including a title page and
reference page. The paper must not only describe current trends within
your topic area, but you should demonstrate how your topic relates to
the broad field of psychology. It should contain a strong thesis
statement supported by research from at least 3 different sources.
Include both in-text citations and a References page in APA format.

My Topic Meditation

I chose the topic of meditation because I recently began experimenting with different

forms of meditation and mindfulness. A book by Sam Harris entitled Waking Up initially

sparked my interest. The ideas seemed believable, meditation seemed comfortable, and the

benefits seemed incredible. So, I tried meditating about a year ago. After a few days of 10-

minute periods of silent stillness and focus upon the rhythm of my breath, I felt no different.

Nothing. The present moment was no more profound than the prior moment. Meditation wasn’t

“working” for me; I felt deceived. I gave up the practice and thought I’d never look back.

Nevertheless, I came across a journal entitled 10% Happier by Dan Harris. He presented many

of the same basic ideas that I had admired in Waking Up. He wrote differently though; he wrote

with such brutal honesty that felt refreshing. That book made me realize that meditation wasn’t

easy. Meditation is also not a magic bullet that you can feel “working.” Meditation is a

discipline like most others, and it requires immense patience and practice. Mindfulness

meditation is an Eastern tradition that has flooded western civilization in the past few years.

Many peoplemyself includedare not ready for meditation; we live in a fast-paced,

immediate gratification-seeking culture that has no time for the present moment. I can now attest,

however, that meditation has the potential to be spiritually and mentally powerful. It never gets

easier, but nobody said it was easy.

You are a counselor in a child and adolescent center. Your boss asks you to see a mother with her 3-year-old son. The mother brings her son to your office, and they are hostile toward each other. She states that he is hyperactive and has ADHD. She is demanding medication for him so she can manage his behavior. You request a session with her son for play therapy. During the 30 minutes of play therapy, he behaves appropriately with the toys in the room with no signs or symptoms of hyperactivity. However, when returned to the room with the mother, he exhibits hyperactivity and argumentative behavior.

Given the aforementioned case, what is your common sense telling you in this situation? You do not need to know theory for this assignment.

Address the following:

  • Identify differences and similarities you understand regarding the diagnosis of ADHD. Consider the possible medication, short-term benefits, and long-term side effects for a 3-year-old male.
  • Discuss how you would use what you know about family relationships to build a bridge in your meetings with this particular family.
  • How can you gain a better understanding of the family situation so you can assist in achieving a more harmonious relationship?

Using Leadership to Empower Others

Preparation

The Unit 9 Introduction suggested that the sense of empowerment that comes with servant leadership is not power for the sake of the leader, but for the benefit of others. Reflect on how the following quotes influence the way you think about leadership and empowerment:

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. — John Quincy Adams (Josephson, 2012)

As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others. — Bill Gates (Sources of Insight, 2011)

Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others. — Jack Welch (Lowe, 2008, p. 88)

An empowered organization is one in which individuals have the knowledge, skill, desire, and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organizational success. — Stephen Covey (Covey, 1991, p. 212)

Discussion

How do these quotes affect your views on leadership? How can you use them to help guide and shape your personal leadership style? Which quote really spoke to you, and how might it influence the way you view the leadership power and authority in which you have been entrusted?

Remember that any time you use a resource to support your statements, you must follow APA guidelines for citations and references.

Reminder

Your post needs to:

  • Be at least 250 words.
  • Contain a minimum of one reference or citation.
  • Follow APA guidelines.

Production Cost, accounting homework help

The materials covered this week distinguish between the different costing methods and provides needed tools for decision making. This case study focuses on determining equivalent units in a production business setting.

Assignment Steps

Resources: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Securities and Exchange Committee (SEC)

Tutorial help on Excel® and Word functions can be found on the Microsoft® Office website. There are also additional tutorials via the web offering support for Office products.

Scenario: Davis Skaros has recently been promoted to production manager. He has just started to receive various managerial reports, including the production cost report you prepared. It showed his department had 2,000 equivalent units in ending inventory. His department has had a history of not keeping enough inventory on hand to meet demand. He has come to you, very angry, and wants to know why you credited him with only 2,000 units when he knows he had at least twice that many on hand.

Prepare a maximum 700-word informal memo and explain to Mr. Skaros why his production cost report showed only 2,000 equivalent units in ending inventory. Using a professional tone, explain to him clearly why your report is accurate.

Format the assignment consistent with APA guidelines.
