  1. What does research suggest about the outcomes for children with openly gay parents?

2. There are various ways for a same sex couple to have a child or children. Some ways are more difficult than others when same sex couples try to have a kid. According to the Moore’s text, there are four different ways for them to have children. The first way Moore mentioned was if in a prior relationship there was already a child born and they just brought that child into the new relationship. The second way is by adopting a child. Adopting a child for same sex couples is more difficult than it is for couples of different sexes. The third way it through the use of assisted reproductive technologies. With the introducing of new technology it makes it easier than it was before they had this technology for couples of the same sex to have a child. The fourth and final way that Moore mentioned in the text was by becoming a partner to someone who has already gone through one of the previous ways listed earlier of ways to obtain a child. It has become easier for people of the same sex to obtain a child while at the same time it is still a struggle and a hassle for them to have one.

Cultural Considerations in Mental Health Nursing

Submit an evidence-based practice paper about cultural competency in mental health nursing. An evidence-based practice paper allows you to explore best practice and help improve client outcomes on a psychiatric unit. Your paper should describe how you, as a nurse, will include – or have included – cultural awareness in a client diagnosed with a mental illness. The person you describe could be someone in your clinical setting, someone you have worked with in the past, or a theoretical client.

Remember that culture can also include gender equality, sexual orientation, and other cultures besides race and religion – including cultures unique to one particular family. Your paper should be at least 3 pages (double-spaced, not including the title or reference pages) in APA Format and include:

  • Assessment: Discuss what you would assess in regard to a client’s culture. For example, are there specific dietary requirements? Are schedule changes necessary to avoid conflicts with religious practices? Who is the spokesperson for the family? What would you assess?
  • Diagnosis: List any mental health nursing diagnoses this person has or may be at risk for. Include at least one cultural diagnosis.
  • Planning: What planning needs to be done to ensure the cultural and emotional safety of the client?
  • Implementation: What are interventions that would ensure the safety of your client in regard to culture? Include at least two interventions. For example, if your client has religious beliefs that affect the ability to take medications, what interventions would you create to ensure the client’s safety? What can you do to make sure the client’s cultural needs are met?
  • Evaluation: How will you evaluate whether your implementation was effective? Make sure the parameters are objective and measurable.
  • In your summary, discuss whether any completed interventions were successful. What could be done differently in the future? If the interventions have not yet been carried out, you might discuss some institutional changes that could be made to ensure cultural safety for all clients in that setting.
  • Your paper should utilize proper APA guidelines and include at least three scholarly sources to support your paper. A scholarly source is a source that has been peer reviewed and has appropriate authors that are credentialed.

Two Discussion Questions on Respiration and Photosynthesis Equal

Hello I need at least one paragraph for each question. The second question has a website link for an article to read.

1. Compare the cellular processes of respiration and photosynthesis as opposite reactions. Consider that, respiration releases energy for cellular use and photosynthesis uses light energy and water to capture carbon and release oxygen. Fossil fuel use is similar to respiration in that it releases the energy that plants captured eons ago. Be specific in your comparison including where and when these processes occur, inputs vs outputs and energy source vs energy output.

2. With your comparison as a foundation, read “Flower Power: Genetic Modification Could Amply Boost Plants’ Carbon-Capture and Bioenergy Capacity.” If plants or algae could be genetically engineered to capture twice as much carbon as they do now, would you support the release of these genetically modified organisms to address climate change? Why or why not? What could be the consequences?

Human capital on strategic human resource management of the Lexington Public Library

Human capital refers to the combined knowledge, skills, and ability of a workforce to perform labor functions and is a vital part of strategic human resource management. Employees, i.e., human capital, are assets that could improve in value with some investment by the organization. Consequently, when an organization’s assets increase in value, the entire organization gains worth. Yet, many employees have resources within them that are rarely, if ever, tapped and used.

For this Assignment, review this Week’s Resources. Review Chapter 2 of Human Resources Management for Public and Nonprofit Organizations. Focus on the concept of human capital as it relates to strategic human resource management. Review the “Strategic Human Resource Management” segment on the course media. Think about what makes human resources strategic. Consider how human resources have changed from a largely administrative function. Identify a government or non-profit organization and focus on its use of human capital and strategic human resource management.

The Assignment:

Analyze the impact of human capital on strategic human resource management in the government and non-profit organization you selected. In your analysis:

  • Explain the mission of the organization.
  • Describe at least 2–3 strategic goals or objectives of the organization.
  • Explain the skills and competencies agency personnel need to manage and implement in the agency’s present and future strategic goals, objectives, programs, and services.
  • Explain the need for review, redesign, or implementation of human capital programs and activities to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the types of employees that will be needed.

Be sure to support your Assignment with specific references to the resources and other current literature in the Walden Library. Use at least three scholarly sources from the library that were published within the past five years to support your paper.

Your Assignment must demonstrate both breadth and depth of knowledge and critical thinking appropriate to graduate-level scholarship. It must follow APA Publication Manual guidelines and be free of typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors. The Assignment should be 2 pages in length (double-spaced), not including the title page, abstract, and references.
