Complete 3 Social Work Discussions

ALL discussions must have at least 2 peer reviewed references

1:

Macro-Level Social Work

Imagine the Campbells’ town has just experienced a tornado. The town is devastated. Schools, businesses, and multiple homes are damaged. The town contacts you to be part of the crisis team to attend the town meeting.

Social work action often occurs on the macrosystems level. This week’s readings discuss macro-level interventions, including the following:

  • Engaging community.
  • Advocacy.
  • Application of policy.

Using your chosen peer-reviewed article or scholarly based Web site that provides macro-level trauma or solution-focused best practice interventions, complete the following for this discussion question:

  1. Provide a summary of your source’s recommended macro-based community best-practice intervention. How would you apply it to this situation?
  2. Provide an example of how you would demonstrate leadership through empowerment, motivation, and teamwork to assist this community.
  3. Identify one local resource (in your community) that you could utilize that provides trauma-informed care interventions. Provide the name of the agency, their Web site, and how you could utilize this agency in the case of community-based trauma.
  4. Provide APA, evidence-based references.

2:

Apps in Application

After searching for and reviewing several app ideas in this unit’s studies, choose one to describe in detail. What population might you use this app with? Can you think of any potential issues with using the app?

3:

Is There an App for That?

If you were to design your own app or other technological tool to address a social work issue, what would the tool be? What social work issue does it address? What population does it target? Can you think of any potential problems with your app idea?

Please respond to the following

As you finalize your final project/thesis, discuss your findings with the class by answering the following questions in respect to your literature review only?

sociology and religion, writing homework help

, please write a carefully reasoned in-depth analysis of any of the following topics (PLEASE indicate in your very first sentence which option you are taking!). Regardless of the option you choose, you must use and cite at least six different credible and authoritative sources. Half of these may come from required SOC 420 course readings. Your MTB report is also acceptable. Beyond that, you should also find at least two credible and authoritative sources that weren’t required reading for our class, though more sources may be helpful. Again, Wikipedia does NOT count as credible and authoritative.

A) What did you see as the most important concept, idea, or issue you learned about in this Sociology of Religion course? Please also explain its relationship to three or four other particularly significant concepts you’ve also learned about in our class. As one example (but there are many other possibilities), you could argue that modern American religion has acquired a profoundly political dimension. What are the reasons for this modern religious-political dilemma, and what are the implications for religious conflict, use of media, economic factors, and the future of religion in America?

B) Please take one of the most significant concepts, ideas, or issues we’ve identified—socialization, conversion, social construction, media, conflict, politics, gender/sexuality, and so forth—and analyze it in depth in terms of a theoretical perspective we’ve discussed (functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interaction, social construction, phenomenology, etc.). Also explain the relationship of this concept to three or four other significant concepts/ideas we’ve considered in this course. Examples of acceptable topics: the phenomenology of religious conversion, use of music or other media in the social construction of religious meaning, an analysis of symbolic meaning in a religious group’s place of worship, etc.

C) We have focused a great deal on religion as it functions in the American cultural context. However, how well does a particular concept or issue we’ve discussed in this class apply within a different religious culture elsewhere in the world? How is this concept/issue the same? How is it different? What are the relevant social dynamics and future trends within this religious context? A possible topic, for instance: How does the American concept of separation of church and state compare and contrast to the tendency in a number of Islamic nations to closely integrate church and state functions?

be carful in using the sources I am going to give you what i wrote and the course required reading…

Managerial Accounting, NPV, IRR, Payback period – Must answer all questions thoroughly

Based on the following information, calculate in Excel and show your work for net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and payback for the investment opportunity:
•EEC expects to save $500,000 per year for the next 10 years by purchasing the supplier.
•EEC’s cost of capital is 14%.
•EEC believes it can purchase the supplier for $2 million.
Answer the following:
•Based on your calculations, should EEC acquire the supplier? Why or why not?
•Which of the techniques (NPV, IRR, or payback period) is the most useful tool to use? Why?
•Which of the techniques (NPV, IRR, or payback period) is the least useful tool to use? Why?
•Would your answer be the same if EEC’s cost of capital were 25%? Why or why not?
•Would your answer be the same if EEC did not save $500,000 per year as anticipated?
•What would be the least amount of savings that would make this investment attractive to EEC?
•Given this scenario, what is the most EEC would be willing to pay for the supplier?
Prepare a memo to the President of EEC that details your findings and shows the effects if any of the following situations are true:
•EEC’s cost of capital increases.
•The expected savings are less than $500,000 per year.
•EEC must pay more than $2 million for the supplier.

Post 5 Identifying and Changing Unhelpful Thoughts

Think about an unhelpful thought you often have and how you might or did use cognitive restructuring. Respond to the following questions/prompts in about 3-4 sentences each for about 1-2 pages total.

  • Share a time in the past where you would have benefited from using cognitive restructuring. How would it have changed how you felt about the situation? Would it have changed the outcome at all?
  • Complete a WOOP for a goal you have based on the following four prompts. Remember to include all four parts of the WOOP, putting particular focus on naming an internal obstacle and an if/then statement for your plan.
    • What is something you wish to change in your future in terms of your ability to identify and change your unhelpful thoughts? This change can be longer term, but make sure to then also identify something for within the next 4 weeks.
    • What would a specific outcome be if you were to live out the above wish?
    • What is an obstacle that has kept/will keep you from using cognitive restructuring? Name at least one internal barrier, although you can also name exterior barriers as well.
    • What are your plans for overcoming these obstacles and barriers to use check the facts and opposite action? Make sure to include an if/then statement (per our class lesson on WOOP) and then expand on how you will ensure you stick with that plan. Include specific steps.
  • What is one thing that resonated with you class on Wednesday, particularly from the lecture material? What do you still have questions about (if anything)?

For the second part of the homework, write a half a page about a time this week where you thought about something you are grateful for.

For the third part of the homework post, we want you to reflect on the reading for next week and the associated videos and answer the following questions (about a half page):

  • Identify one way you can see this content helping you going forward.
  • Do you have any clarification questions about the reading?

Psychology of Aging

Create a 20-25 slide PowerPoint presentation that identifies, describes, and gives examples of one of the following:

    1. retirement
    2. parenting or grand-parenting in the older years
    3. seniors caring for senior parents (this needs to be focused on adults 65 and over that are still caring for their adult children or raising their grandchildren)
    4. growing older with a major health issue

.

In your slides, you should include theory, current research, and the implications for the human services professional. Your final slide should list your references.

As you prepare this assignment, keep in mind that you will use this same information for your Final Assignment. Your discussions from this assignment will be expanded as you explore additional issues and apply information from readings, posts, interviews, and other course activities to design an optimum living situation for the elderly. Your assignment will include the following parts:

    • As you address your topic, you must include theory, current research, and the implications for the human service professional.
    • Incorporates one developmental theory (from chapter 4) to help explain the physical and psychological changes that relate to the selected topic. Here, you want to describe, in general, how the changes you discussed above coincide with one of the developmental theories you have discussed. How does the theory explain the changes related to the topic you chose? Relative to the selected topic: identifies and describes the significant physical changes associated with aging (strength, senses, perceptive abilities, health etc.) – In this section, it is important to consider what physical changes occur in regard to the topic. For example, if you choose retirement, what physical changes occur in retirement that makes it difficult to function? You will need to choose three physical changes for this section.
    • Relative to the selected topic: identifies and describes the significant psychological changes associated with aging (cognition, memory, personality, emotion, etc.) – In this section, you will do the same but in regard to psychological changes. For example, if you choose seniors caring for senior parents, what psychological issues may occur? You will need to choose three physical changes for this section.
    • Relative to the selected topic: summarizes how the changes discussed above impact factors such as cognitive function, health, independence, economics, family relationships, and social interactions. For example, you can discuss how a psychological change may impact cognitive function and how a physical issue impacts social interactions.
    • Based on your findings, what did you find to be true about your topic in aging versus the perceptions and misconceptions society has about older adults?
    • Suggests interventions that might decrease problems associated with aging. Gives specific examples to illustrate each intervention and explain how it could be used in a professional role working with the elderly and their families. It is important to discuss interventions that directly relate to the physical and psychological issues you discussed. For example, if you chose retirement, what interventions will you use to overcome the physical or psychological issues related to retirement?
    • As you address your topic, you must include theory, current research, and the implications for the human service professional.
    • It is not necessary to elaborate extensively on each slide. However, you will want to list each issue and discuss them thoroughly enough for an audience to gain understanding.
    • The requirement is 20-25 slides, which includes an introduction slide and a reference slide.
