Developmental Disorders

You have learned that the conceptualization of autism spectrum disorders as diagnoses has evolved, with the current DSM conceptualizing one neurological disorder with common characteristics, which are presented on a wide continuum, rather than separate disorders such as Asperger’s disorder or autistic disorder.

Watch the video It’s a Different World. You may use the link provided or locate the video in the AUO library.

  • Describe the symptoms or characteristics of autism spectrum disorder you saw illustrated in the video that you learned about in your readings.
  • You have learned that autism is a spectrum disorder, with some children functioning at the lower end, requiring a lot of support, and others at the higher end, needing minimal support.

Describe strengths and challenges that were noted for the children in the video?

  • Explain why it is important for a clinician to evaluate strengths and challenges in order to work with children, families, and educators.
  • Drawing on your readings, the video, and any other peer-reviewed sources you find relevant, explain whether research supports separate disorders (e.g., Asperger’s disorder, autistic disorder) or one disorder with a continuum of severity.

Write a paper that is a minimum of 3 pages, not including a cover page and reference list. Format your paper using APA standards, to citation of sources, including in-text citations and full references. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M4_A2.doc.

1.Define self esteem and describe how communication can enhance
self-esteem. Why is self-awareness such a critical skill for improving
self-esteem?

2.Within the various models of communication described in your text,
there are a few standard components (source, receiver, channel, context, and
noise). Think about experiences you have had with noise (or interference) in
the communication process. Write a unique example of noise for each of the
other components in the communication model (sender, receiver, channel, and
context). These four examples can be from different real-life communication
situations, but they need to be different from the examples in the textbook.
Select one of the four examples you provided and indicate how you could reduce
or eliminate the noise.

3.Metacommunication management is a three-step process. This
includes anticipatory, adaptive, and reflective metacommunication. Which part
of the metacommunication (anticipatory, adaptive, or reflective) process do you
think you implement best? Which one do you feel you could improve? Give
specific examples.

4.Describe the five characteristics of communication. Of these,
which do you believe has the most effect on your anticipatory
metacommunication? Why? Give specific examples.

5.DECIDE is the acronym used to remember the six basic steps that
you must consider when you make communication decisions. Step 1 of DECIDE is to

Week 8 Junior Payne how using annotated bibliographies might improve verbal and writing skills

THIS IS ONLY AN INTERPRETATION, FIVE SENTENCES AND A QUESTION IS ALL I NEED. TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS, HAVE REFERENCES! ASK PROBING QUESTIONS AND MAKE STATEMENTS BASED OFF WHAT THEY WROTE

Post by Day 4 an explanation of how using annotated bibliographies might improve verbal and writing skills. Then explain how the skills obtained from using annotated bibliographies might be beneficial in your current role or in criminal justice role in which you might be interested in working in the future.

Writing and annotated bibliography is a excellent preparation for a research project. Collecting sources for a bibliography is useful, Using an annotated bibliography provide several benefits to you in your analytical writing and skills as well as proving a valuable resource for discussion with your supervisor or your superiors officers. The purpose for writing an annotated bibliography can differ with audience and the assignment. It might be a project in a course you are taking or a requirement for research in the organization or agency for which you work.

Johnson, W. A.; Retting, R. P.; Scott, G. M.; & Garrison, S. M. (2015). One the great benefits of an annotated bibliography is that it saves time for those who consult it. Since extensive and scholarly annotated bibliographies provide a comprehensive overview of material published on a topic, they can give bot researchers and practitioners a swift impression of the types of research already conducted on that topic, as well as a notion of the types of research left to do. An annotated bibliography can make researches aware of (articles or books) they should read to advance their own research. Practitioners can scrutinize annotated bibliographies rapidly in order to see what new research their colleagues have conducted or what new practices have been develop in their field and whether it would be worth their time to locate and read the entire article or book annotated.

What do you think about points the author stated in question 1 and 2 ?

Question 1:

Why did women give so much to help men in the army when they did not care to think they were important politically or allow them to serve themselves?

On page 265 of the textbook it states “The most common battlefield role of women was the nurse- the “angel” of the battlefield who comforted wounded and dying soldiers, representing domestic tranquility in the midst of the armed conflict…female nurses had to fight their own kinds of battles with male medical officers for the opportunity to serve.” Clearly the nurturing aspect of taking care of the wounded and sick was associated as a woman’s duty early on which made them great nurses. But women with that even had to fight for that opportunity to be apart of the aiding of soldiers in the army.

But with the war, women struggled. As mentioned on page 248, “Women struggled to support their families without the aid of husbands, sons, and brothers.” So with that, the war had a large effect on women back in their hometown, which therefore had them demand more support for their families from the confederate government.

If women were so willing to work, and try to support themselves why weren’t Men/the government more in favor of supporting these women with that choice? I know that a huge issue included men not believing that women were capable to handle work, or not skilled enough but the women were so subordinate to men yet when it came to them needing something then they had faith that they were good at their job.

Question 2:

How do you think men viewed the roles of women after the war? Do you think women received the credit they deserved?

Women had long been seen as stay at home mothers before World War Two and only that. The stereotypical, perfect American family had the father that brought home the bacon each day during the week and the mother who raised their children. The fact of the matter is, women always worked outside the house but it just wasn’t glorified as much. These women were usually in the lower class or the minority and many men did not have the best attitude toward them. A male could better suit their jobs, the men believed. During WWII all of this changed and a revolution in the work force was eventually seen. Numbers of women working outside the home rose exponentially and they thought they were there to stay. Women also played a large role in the military, which had never been seen before. Gender roles had changed in the modern world; women throughout the nation made a huge impact on the Second World War efforts. The question is, do you believe men believed women deserve stronger roles after the war and did they receive the credit they deserved?

Analytics-as-a-Service is a new delivery model that uses cloud technology to provide business insights without enormous infrastructure enhancements. The executive team has heard great things about analytics and cloud technology but is apprehensive because they are unfamiliar with the look and feel of the technology. The executive team is interested in your recommendations and eagerly awaiting your forward-thinking viewpoint.

Section 1: Design Document

  1. Write a four to six (4-6) page design document in which you:
  • Support the need for the use of analytics and cloud technology within this company.
  • Create a workflow diagram to illustrate how analytics and cloud technology could align with the company’s business processes. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length but must be included in the design document appendix.
