Writing a Research Proposal

Writing a Research Proposal

It’s time to share your work with your classmates. Post a brief outline of your research proposal in the discussion. Post your outline in the discussion area along with a discussion of your experience of putting together a research proposal. Summary statements of the sections are appropriate here. However, you should avoid simply copying and pasting your entire proposal to the outline. Address the following issues in your discussion:

  • What was the most challenging part of the project?
  • What might you do differently if you were to actually carry out this study?

Discuss your own plans for future research.

  • Will you conduct research, participate in research, or simply be a consumer of research?
  • How can you use research in your career, currently and in the future?

Consult the G.R.E.A.T. Discussion and Feedback Guidelines With Checklist document to craft your discussion post.

Portfolio 13.4: Compare and Contrast “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “To Kill a Mockingbird”

This will be a one page essay which analyzes the differences and similarities between the novel and the movie. The first task of this essay is to locate a copy of the movie. Check a local movie rental store, or at your local public library, which will likely have it. If you subscribe to Netflix or Blockbuster, they have it on their mailing options.

As you watch the movie:

  • Have a notepad and a pen/pencil.
  • Whenever something happens that is different from the book make a note of it.
  • Enjoy one of the single greatest movies Hollywood has ever produced.

After you watch the movie:

  • Review your notes of differences
  • Pick a few of the differences and think about why they changed what they did
  • Write a one-page compare and contrast essay about the novel and movie, find a unifying element that will keep your paper from becoming a rambling commentary.

Based on your assessment and the organization’s strengths and weaknesses you identified in Week 1, evaluate opportunities for that organization to add economic, social, and environmental value.

  • An agenda
  • A description of the organization (1 slide with speaker’s notes).
  • A summary of the strengths and weakness of the organization (2 slides with speaker’s notes)

  • An evaluation of opportunities to add economic value (1 slide with speaker’s notes)
  • An evaluation of opportunities to add social value (1 slide with speaker’s notes)

Please fix this for me

It is a fact that people are happier when their personalities agree with the culture of the organization they work for. Organizations have personalities just like you do and they are hard to change. It is also a fact that most people don’t take the time to know themselves well enough to see if they will ‘fit in’ with the culture where they work.

from my instructor

I have read your submission and am not sure that you fully understood the directions. I will be glad to grade this if you like but it will not receive many points. You may want to re-read the instructions that include specific questions and the Rubric that I use to assign points. I see not much comparison between your ideaof yourself and the information you found from the cultural preferences test. In addition, no references were used. If you want me to grade this submission, just let me know.

Some professionals have argued that these disorders are not mental disorders at all, but personality styles—that these individuals are just odd or unusual. Review your textbook and a minimum of two peer-reviewed references and discuss the diagnostic and measurement challenges and issues related to personality disorders. What classification approach is currently used in the DSM? Explain this approach. Identify and discuss relevant research on the causation, diagnosis, and treatment of personality disorders.

History 108 Discussion post- The Spanish-American War

Read the attached to this week 3 (FILES) “Empire and its People.PDF” by H. Zinn file as well as other available sources and respond to the following questions:

Discussion Forum Topic for week 3: Why were the Cubans excused from the negotiations with the US authorities after the Spanish American War? What was the main assumption?

The format for the forum:

The main post: a three to five-paragraphed narrative introducing your idea or reaction, backed with evidence, and a conclusion. A paragraph is understood to be composed of 5-8 sentences with proper citations, references, and style/grammar. The main post is always due on Thursday.

The secondary post(s): a free-flowing discussion engaging others’ comments, with no length requirement yet academic in nature. Evidence-based material only. If you select to introduce evidence – MLA formatting for citations and bibliography is a must. No speculations and don’t forget to cite (in text and at the end of your post). You may start a discussion link through this forum. The secondary post (s) is (are) due by Sunday night, and maybe be posted anytime during the assigned week. They are usually brief and respond or comment to peers in class.

You may choose to write in MLA, APA or Chicago for all our writing assignments in this class (discussions and essays). MLA is the most common and known to students. If you don’t know other writing styles and formats – just stick to MLA.

PESTEL

It is difficult to read an article or listen to the news and not see or hear the term “sustainability”. Some companies have been proactive in their approach to promote “green initiatives” and have, by these actions, been ahead of the curve in terms of customer support. Ecological factors are now inextricably linked to the image of an organization, and sometimes even a country. As examples, Costa Rica has been promoting ecotourism initiatives for years, while, conversely, when the Olympics were held in Beijing, many companies were closed so that air pollution would not impact the experience of attendees.

Each student is asked to find a current news article from a reputable, business-focused source (e.g., Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Kiplinger’s or Forbes) that illustrates a force in the external environment that impacts your industry. In this blog, post the link to the article and your analysis of what impact the specific force will have on your industry in the next year.
