Project Management-Where to focus?

Project Managers need to balance several competing variables to deliver a successful project.

Please respond to the following, prompt, and comment on a couple of responses from your fellow students.

– Schedule, Scope, Budget, and Quality are all important. Please describe a situation (or type or project) where one of these items would be MORE important than the others, Why would the item selected be more important? What impact would focusing on that one have on the others? Could a project be successful if it delivered on the most important constraint but missed the others? Would it matter how much it missed on the others? Who determines what to optimize for and if a project is successful?

Digesting the Material

Digesting scholarly sources, such as research articles, can be very challenging. The tables provided in this week’s Books and Resources are great tools to help you learn this skill. The more resources you read, the harder it might become to remember key information. A table can act as a quick reference. In addition, as you fill out each box for each resource, you begin to visualize and internalize the patterns of systematic research efforts. You may see certain links between concepts, gaps in terms of methodology, or recommendations for future research efforts that might suggest a feasible and worthy topic area for your study.

This assignment will help you learn how to read scholarly sources and pull out relevant information. In addition, the readings this week expand on how to best search the literature and store all of your collected resources. You will quickly find that organization is key as you delve further into the literature.

Note: Within the weekly Books and Resources, you will find a Word version and Excel version of the table to use to complete your assignment. Begin by downloading whichever file is easier for you to use.

Last week, you identified 2 to 3 potential topics of interests related to your degree field and type. This week, you will narrow that down to only 2 potential topics (if you haven’t already).

For this assignment, find and read 3 to 5 scholarly sources for each topic. As you read the sources, fill in the related table sections. If you find you are having trouble completing any section of the table, remember, your faculty member is available to help!

The downloaded file from this week’s Books and Resources must be completed and submitted as your assignment.

Length: Completed Word or Excel table with 3-5 sources for each of your two potential topics, plus title and reference pages.

Presentation – Must be ORIGINAL

Coding and Reimbursement Presentation (350 Points)

Scenario: You have been an employee at Healing Haven Hospital in the health information management (HIM) department for the past two years. Each month, during the new employee orientation, the medical billing specialist from the billing department does a presentation on coding and reimbursement. This year, the specialist is at a conference. Because your supervisor knows you are taking this class, she has asked you to do the presentation.

Prepare a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation that follows the criteria below. Ensure it adheres to the appropriate guidelines for a PPT as provided in the CSU Global Library. Remember to limit the amount of information on each slide to the key points, and use the note section for additional information and explanations. You should also include information from a minimum of five resources, making sure that these resources are cited in your presentation. Your presentation should include, but is not limited to, the following sections:

  • History and background of diagnostic (ICD) and procedural (CPT) coding
  • Purpose of ICD and CPT coding
  • Differences between ICD-10-CM and ICD-9-CM coding
  • Related technology to assist in the coding and reimbursement process
  • Maintaining coding accuracy and minimizing errors.

Your presentation should contain a minimum of 20 slides, including your cover slide and reference slide. Ensure each source is cited per CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.

The Romantics

Your paper should be typed, double-spaced (no extra spacing between paragraphs), and at least 500 words long. You have to use at least one academic secondary source in addition to your primary source. This means a legit, scholarly article, NOT dictionary.com or Wikipedia and for the love of all that’s holy, not Sparknotes. Opinion pieces, blogs, and non-scholarly websites do not count as academic sources. Use academic journal articles (see “databases” on the library website), books or book chapters, legitimate academic sites, etc.

Use brief quotes from both primary and secondary sources to support your thesis. You must document your sources in the MLA style. You may not recycle works submitted in other classes. You may not use any fact, quotation, or idea from any other source without EXPLICITLY documenting it. Failure to properly document sources is plagiarism.

Present an assertive thesis that proves a relevant point about the text. Make sure you don’t just summarize the work. Avoid arguing the obvious (eg, “Jaws is about a shark”). Instead, think “This is what the shark represents”. The contents of the paper should all work towards proving this thesis. Use quotes and examples from the texts to help prove your point, but avoid extensive paraphrasing of the text. Do not summarize the text you are discussing; assume your audience has read the texts in question. Demonstrate throughout the paper why your point is relevant and how it helps us reach a greater understanding of the work in question. In any case, your paper needs to include one of the texts we’ve discussed and your secondary source in a relevant manner.

Possible paper 1 topics include but are NOT limited to:

The Romantics’ reaction to the Enlightenment

The Romantics’ “spirit of the age”

Wordsworth’s “two consciousnesses”

Wordsworth’s celebration of the common

Keat’s use of the ode

Reaction paper

Reaction Paper II Prompt

This paper is an opportunity to establish a relationship between three major sources of institutional inequality: education, the media, and the economy. It will also encourage you to draw personal connections to social issues through your sociological imaginations!

Write your papers using one-inch margins, double-spaced, and 12-point font. The entire paper should be at least 5-6 pages in length (it may be even longer). REMEMBER TO UPLOAD YOUR PAPER AS A WORD DOCUMENT ONLY! Make sure to complete all four steps of this assignment:

Step I:

Click on the link below to watch a twenty-minute TED TALK video called “Jimmy Wales: The Birth of Wikipedia.”

And finally, what might he say about offering free college tuition, free books, and providing ubiquitous access to knowledge?

Understanding working Memory, philosophy homework help

The goal of this discussion forum is to deepen your understanding of how working memory operates. For your initial post, watch the Models of Memory 1 Atkins+ Shiffrons Multi Store Model video. Then complete the following experiments:

Keep in mind that each experiment illustrates a procedure or task that is used by scientists to understand how working (short-term) memory functions. Consider what your performance on the selected task tells you about working memory and its strengths and weaknesses. Also, consider the extent to which the results of the selected experiment apply to real-life experiences and settings. Support your points with evidence from at least one peer-reviewed research article. Your initial post must be a minimum of 300 words.
